Results show that rare earth metals reduce the distance between primary longitudinal dendrites for Al-3Li alloy, which is related with species, content of rare earth metals and solidification rate of the alloy. RE is mainly segregated at grain boundaries. Constitutional supercooling formed in RE-rich regions during solidification is considered to be the main factor of modification of microstructure.展开更多
