We obtain the conductance for the system of a quantum dot which is embedded in a one-dimensional chain in zero and finite temperature cases. The external magnetic field gives rise to a negative magnetoconductance in the zero temperature case. It increases as the external magnetic field increases, We obtain the relation between the coupling coefficient and conductance. If the interaction is big enough to prevent conduction electrons from tunnelling through the dot, the dispersion effect is dominant in this case. In the Kondo temperature regime, we obtain the conductivity of a quantum dot system with Kondo correlation.展开更多

The eigenenergies and eigenstates are obtained from the cyclic condition and the multiplying of the transfer matrices. We show that there exist persistent charge and spin currents in such a system due to the lift of degeneracy between the opposite moving directions in the presence of the tilted magnetic field. The dependences of eigenenergies, geometric phase, charge and spin persistent currents on the tilting angles of magnetic field are analysed.展开更多

We show that the localization length is enhanced by disorder of side sites in the case of strong disorder, but in the case of weak disorder there is a plateau in this dependence. The above behaviour is the conjunct influence of the coupling to the surrounding atoms and the antiresonant effect. We also discuss different effects and their physical origin of different types of disorder in such systems. The numerical results show that coupling with the surrounding atoms can induce either the localization or delocalization effect depending on the values of parameters.展开更多

There are three leads connecting to the ring at different positionsl unpolarized current is injected to one of them, and the other two are output channels with different bias voltages. The spin polarization of current in the outgoing leads shows oscillations as a function of EP coupling strength owing to the quantum interference of EP states in the ring region. As temperature increases, the oscillations are evidently suppressed, implying decoherence of the EP states. The simulation shows that the magnitude of polarized current is sensitive to the location of the lead. The polarized current depends on the connecting position of the lead in a complicated way due to the spin-sensitive quantum interference effects caused by different phases accumulated by transmitting electrons with opposite spin states along different paths.展开更多

The results of numerical calculations carried out on a finite sheet of graphene show that when the Fermi energy is above the single occupancy energy and below the double occupancy energy of the local impurity, a magnetic state is possible. A phase diagram in a parameter space spanned by the Coulomb energy U and the Fermi energy is obtained to distinguish the parameter regions for the magnetic and nonmagnetic states of the impurity. We find that the combined effect of the impurity and finite size effect results in a large charge density near the edges of the finite graphene sheet. The density of states exhibits a peak at the Dirac point which is caused by the appearance of the edge states localized at the zigzag edges of the sheet.展开更多
