INTRODUCTION The Great Wall Station area is located in the Fildes Peninsula, King George Island. The strata are composed mainly of basaltic and basah-andesitic lavas, pyroclastic rocks and pyroclastic-sedimentary rocks. This volcanic rock series shows the characteristics of typical island-arc volcanic rocks.
