The Luonan Basin locates in the Qinling Mountains,which form a geographic boundary between North and South China.Since 1995,268 open-air sites identified from the Luonan Basin,Shaanxi Province,and a total of 13 581 li...The Luonan Basin locates in the Qinling Mountains,which form a geographic boundary between North and South China.Since 1995,268 open-air sites identified from the Luonan Basin,Shaanxi Province,and a total of 13 581 lithic artefacts collected from those sites during 1995-2004.A systematic refitting analysis was carried out on the stone artefacts collected from those Open-air sites in the Luonan Basin.The refitting produced 31 refitted groups.The refitted lithic sets included 64 elements,made up of two cores,nine complete flakes,44 broken flakes,and nine chunks.The raw materials range from various coloured quartzite(cream,red,and dark grey colour),quartz,greywacke,and silicious limestone.The refitting rate in open-air sites is about 0.47%.The highest refitting rate in single site is 21.05%,it occurs at Shangling site(03LP242).Uunfortunately,it not produced any refitted group cross the sites.Because the lithic artefacts in the open-air sites were mostly surface collections,no stratigraphic determination could be made on the assemblages,however,a refitted broken flakes group at scene from Angou site(02LP201) is quiet longer with the rectilinear distance at least 35m away.The higher refitting rates on some sites imply that the lithic artefacts exposed on the ground are not for a long time since the site under severe land-surface erosion in historic period.展开更多
