Among the vessels, an unearthed inscription for Zhou Shengzun (so named for the present) is as long as 113 characters, having some discriptive relations directly with the 2 pieces of Zhou Sheng Gui recorded before. This inscription reflects a judicial dispute and its dealing-with process and result, arisen from the undue occupying slaves and land by Zhousheng, a nobler named Ji at the late western Zhou. Studying of such inscription is significant to understand both the legal institution and land magement system which had contributed to a stable society and promoted development of the society at that time. Besides, the two pieces of Zhou Shengzun have been rare in the past archaeologic discoveries in term of their modelling and decoration features. Emerged as a new article shape, it has important objective value for denominating and researching of wares. In combination with the two hoarding bronzes found in the said village in 1970’s and in consideration of the regulation for the use of ritual wares as recorded in Western Zhou’s ritual system,i.e. "the Nobler’s sacrificial vessels were prohibited to cross border", it can tentatively be concluded that the Wujun xicun village was the orbit and inhabited reging of Noblemen Ji dating 3000 years ago.展开更多
