新型柔性传感器在电子皮肤、智能纺织、柔性机器人等领域得到了广泛的研究。目前多数传感器需要连接刚性的采集电路,这限制了设备柔软性、舒适性和轻盈度的提升。提出了一种基于双层平面螺旋电感的柔性无线无源压力传感器。该传感包含... 新型柔性传感器在电子皮肤、智能纺织、柔性机器人等领域得到了广泛的研究。目前多数传感器需要连接刚性的采集电路,这限制了设备柔软性、舒适性和轻盈度的提升。提出了一种基于双层平面螺旋电感的柔性无线无源压力传感器。该传感包含三层柔性层:双层平面螺旋电感(天线层)、高磁导率铁氧体膜和弹性织物层。其中,双层平面螺旋电感层包括两个旋转方向相反的平面线圈,形成具有大电感量、大电容量的LC谐振器。外界压力载荷改变传感器的谐振频率,进而被外界接收线圈无线检测。通过研究四种双层螺旋电感天线层的结构设计,传感器的灵敏度最大可达到0.11 MHz/k Pa,检测距离达到18 mm。这种基于双层平面螺旋电感的柔性无线无源压力传感器打破了有线电气连接的限制,可在下一代医疗系统、智能机器人等领域中发挥巨大的应用潜能。 展开更多

This paper describes the evolution of vapour bubbles and its effect on nonlinear ultrasound propagation and temperature rise through tissues for therapeutic ultrasound. An acoustic-thermo coupling algorithm incorporating nonlinearity, diffraction, and temperature-dependent tissue properties, is employed to describe nonlinear ultrasound propagation and thermal effect. Results demonstrate that an obvious migration of peak pressure toward transducer surface is observed while the position of peak temperature changes little in liver tissue before the generation of vapour bubbles, and that the boiling region enlarges towards the surface of transducer in axial direction but increases slowly in radial direction after the generation of vapour bubbles. 展开更多

The relationship between the cavitation and acoustic peak negative pressure in the high-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) field is analyzed in water and tissue phantom. The peak negative pressure at the focus is determined by a hybrid approach combining the measurement with the simulation. The spheroidal beam equation is utilized to describe the nonlinear acoustic propagation. The waveform at the focus is measured by a fiber optic probe hydrophone in water. The relationship between the source pressure amplitude and the excitation voltage is determined by fitting the measured ratio of the second harmonic to the fundamental component at the focus, based on the model simulation. Then the focal negative pressure is calculated for arbitrary voltage excita- tion in water and tissue phantom. A portable B-mode ultrasound scanner is applied to monitor HIFU-indueed cavitation in real time, and a passive cavitation detection (PCD) system is used to acquire the bubble scattering signals in the HIFU focal volume for the cavitation quantification. The results show that: (1) unstable cavitation starts to appear in degassed water when the peak negative pressure of HIFU signals reaches 13.5 MPa; and (2) the cavitation activity can be detected in tissue phantom by B-mode images and in the PCD system with HIFU peak negative pressures of 9.0 MPa and 7.8 MPa, respectively, which suggests that real-time B-mode images could be used to monitor the cavitation activity in two dimensions, while PCD systems are more sensitive to detect scattering and emission signals from cavitation bubbles. 展开更多

Sub-harmonic component generated from microbubbles is proven to be potentially used in noninvasive blood pressure measurement. Both theoretical and experimental studies are performed in the present work to investigate the dependence of the sub-harmonic generation on the overpressure with different excitation pressure amplitudes and pulse lengths. With 4-MHz ultrasound excitation at an applied acoustic pressure amplitude of 0.24 MPa, the measured sub-harmonic amplitude exhibits a decreasing change as overpressure increases; while non-monotonic change is observed for the applied acoustic pressures of 0.36 MPa and 0.48 MPa, and the peak position in the curve of the sub-harmonic response versus the overpres- sure shifts toward higher overpressure as the excitation pressure amplitude increases. Furthermore, the exciting pulse with long duration could lead to a better sensitivity of the sub-harmonic response to overpressure. The measured results are ex- plained by the numerical simulations based on the Marmottant model. The numerical simulations qualitatively accord with the measured results. This work might provide a preliminary proof for the optimization of the noninvasive blood pressure measurement through using sub-harmonic generation from microbubbles. 展开更多

This article theoretically studies the influence of inhomogeneous abdominal walls on focused therapeutic ultrasound based on the phase screen model. An inhomogeneous tissue is considered as a combination of a homogeneous medium and a phase aberration screen. Variations of acoustic parameters such as peak positive pressure, peak negative pressure, and acoustic intensity are discussed with respect to the phase screen statistics of human abdominal walls. Results indicate that the abdominal wall can result in energy loss of the sound in the focal plane. For a typical human abdominal wall with correlation length of 7.9 mm and variance of 0.36, the peak acoustic intensity radiated from a 1MHz transmitter with a radius of 30 mm can be reduced by about 14% at the focal plane. 展开更多

Hyperthermia effects (39-44 ℃) induced by pulsed high-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) have been regarded as a promising therapeutic tool for boosting immune responses or enhancing drug delivery into a solid tumor. However, previous studies also reported that the cell death occurs when cells are maintained at 43 ℃ for more than 20 minutes. The aim of this study is to investigate thermal responses inside in vivo rabbit auricular veins exposed to pulsed HIFU (1.17 MHz, 5300 W/cm2, with relatively low-duty ratios (0.2%-4.3%). The results show that: (1) with constant pulse repetition frequency (PRF) (e.g., 1 Hz), the thermal responses inside the vessel will increase with the increasing duty ratio; (2) a temperature elevation to 43 ℃ can be identified at the duty ratio of 4.3%; (3) with constant duty ratios, the change of PRF will not significantly affect the temperature measurement in the vessel; (4) as the duty ratios lower than 4.3%, the presence of microbubbles will not significantly enhance the thermal responses in the vessel, but will facilitate HIFU-induced inertial cavitation events. 展开更多

A combined time and frequency domain method is developed for the calculation of a shock wave induced by a strong focused ultrasound transducer in the oblate spheroidal coordinate system.The spheroidal beam equation(SBE)is utilized to describe the nonlinear sound propagation;the diffraction and attenuation effects are calculated in the frequency-domain,while the nonlinear effect is calculated in the time-domain.Compared with the traditional frequency-domain method,this method could calculate the shock wave effectively without oscillation at the shock front and with less computation time.When the harmonic number is 200,the computation time by this method is about 1/16 of that used by the traditional frequency-domain method. 展开更多
