The fiber is fabricated through using modified chemical vapor deposition (MCVD) method, which is able to produce the optimum predicted eharacter-1 shaped fiber structure. As a result, a low-loss fiber with beat length close to 2.0 mm at 1310 nm wavelength and extinction ratio approximately -25 dB has been produced. The process is both simple and reproducible.展开更多
