We report on the generation of dual-wavelength dissipative solitons in a passively mode-locked fibre laser with a net normal dispersion using the nonlinear polarization rotation (NPR) technique. Taking the intrinsic advantage of the intracavity birefringence-induced spectral filtering effect in the NPR-based ring laser cavity, the dual-wavelength dissipative solitons are obtained. In addition, the wavelength separation and the lasing location of the dual-wavelength solitons can be flexibly tuned by changing the orientation of the polarization controller. 展开更多

The dark soliton pulse with spectral sideband is experimentally observed in a dispersion-managed ail-fiber ring laser with net negative cavity group velocity dispersion.We find that,for single or multiple dark solitons,the spectral sidebands always appear and exhibit asymmetric characteristics which are similar to bright solitons.The experimental measurements of spectral sideband positions are carried out and the results are in good agreement with the calculated values.Our results show that spectral sideband effect is also an intrinsic feature of a dark soliton fiber laser. 展开更多

Among the nonlinear effects, second harmonic generation(SHG) remains a hot research topic. The recent development of thin film lithium niobate(TFLN) technology has superior performances to the conventional counterparts. Herein, this review article reveals the recent progress of SHG based on TFLN and its integrated photonics. We mainly discuss and compare the different techniques of TFLN-based structures to boost the nonlinear performances assisted by localizing light in nanostructures and structured waveguides.Moreover, our conclusions and perspectives indicate that more efficient methods need to be further explored for higher SHG conversion efficiency on the TFLN platform. 展开更多
