It aims at revealing attitudes, believes, emotions and ideologies of a specific group by comprehensively adopting the knowledge of corpus linguistics, pragmatics and cognitive linguistics. This paper selects three pieces of news about the relevant topic from China Daily, the Wall Street Journal and the London Evening Standard. Based on Charteris-Black's Critical Metaphor Analysis Theory, it systematically studies the metaphors in the three pieces of news, trying to figure out the ideologies behind the words.展开更多
