As a branch of scientific and technological translation, medical translation has become an important part of international communication. Taking excerpts from Pediatric Liver Transplantation: A Clinical Guide published by Elsevier and its translations as the material for discussion to explore the guiding role of relevance translation theory in translation practice, with a view to contributing to the introduction of international medical achievements and the dissemination of Chinese medical culture. It finds that the theory can guide translation activities from the level of thinking through reasoning the author’s intention, enhancing the context effect, seeking the best connection, etc., so as to clarify the logic and content of the medical text and describe the medical information more accurately. At the same time, practice has also tested that the theory has its own limitations and can’t ideally solve all the problems in medical translation, and it needs to be improved in continuous practice.展开更多
