Three Methods in the Translation of the English Idiom

Different countries have different idioms.And the idioms always reflect the culture of the country.They cover daily life and the people's attitudes toward the society and nature.As people all live in the same world and share the same nature,idioms of the similar meaning in different languages can be easily found.Some English idioms are similar in meaning to the Chinese ones.In this paper,three methods used in translating the English idioms into Chinese ones are being discussed.First of all,some English idioms having matches in the Chinese language And such English idioms can be translated into the Chinese ones.Secondly,the English idi-oms that should be translated directly.Thirdly,the English idioms that should be translated differently in different sentences.There-fore,when an idiom is being translated,the translator should consider the above-mentioned three methods.
