The commercial finite element software ANSYS was employed to evaluate deformations and stresses at every point of the tank especially in the dangerous areas such as the connecting area of manholes and spheric shell. Based on the stress components at the maximum stress points in the dangerous areas, stress intensities needed for strength check are obtained. Strength check was carried out according to the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, Section Ⅷ, Divesion Ⅱ.展开更多
