Sichuan still holds a position, in China, as a ma jor base having a complete industrial system. To date, there are over 300,000 industrial enterprises in the province, more than 800 are large. Sichuan occupies an important place in China with regard to various industrial and business sectors: electronics, machine building, metallurgy, chemical industry, food processing, building materials and pharmaceutical industry. The next step in the province’s industrial development program is to quicken the basic transformation of the economic sector to enhance economic growth, so as to direct the local economy into a sound, strong position through restructuring the industrial system and fostering a group of pillar enterprises. Accordingly, the province will, in the future year, increase by an average of 16 per cent a year the value of the province’s total industrial output, and put a control on the ratio of enterprises not in profit, to 15 per centl further, to reduce the asset liabi1ity ratio to under 60 per cent, and increase enterprises ) capitalprofit tax by 10 per cent.展开更多
