This is a ne...An analytical queuing model is proposed for the classified services of WiMAX network. Simulation model is also developed that corresponds to the Markovian analytical model using Java modeling tool (JMT) . This is a new and efficient discrete event tool for queuing network modeling and workload analysis. QoS metrics have been evaluated for the multi-rate traffic in multiple scenarios. Results obtained from simulation are compared for validation and analysis. Outcomes show that the proposed model is more efficient than the conventional method by improving residence time,response time,increasing system throughput and efficiency at queuing level with a slight degradation in call acceptance factor.展开更多

Methods: An...Aims: To clarify the relationship between depression and glucose metabolism using sensitive measures of insulin resistance, and to assess if remission of depression results in enhanced insulin sensitivity. Methods: An intervention study to quantify changes in insulin sensitivity before and after treatment of depression was carried out. Twenty six Pakistani women with newly diagnosed depression underwent euglycemic insulin clamp to measure insulin sensitivity at inclusion and again after treatment of depression 6 - 8 weeks later. Twenty-three individuals completed both tests. Results: Significant improvement of insulin sensitivity was observed following the treatment of depression. The improved insulin sensitivity remained statistically significant after controlling for confounding factors. Conclusions: This study establishes a relationship between depression and insulin resistance. It demonstrated that insulin sensitivity can be improved by treating depression.展开更多
In this paper,the hybridization of standard particle swarm optimisation(PSO)with the analytical method(2/3 rd rule)is proposed,which is called as analytical hybrid PSO(AHPSO)algorithm used for the optimal siting and s...In this paper,the hybridization of standard particle swarm optimisation(PSO)with the analytical method(2/3 rd rule)is proposed,which is called as analytical hybrid PSO(AHPSO)algorithm used for the optimal siting and sizing of distribution generation.The proposed AHPSO algorithm is implemented to cater for uniformly distributed,increasingly distributed,centrally distributed,and randomly distributed loads in conventional power systems.To demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm,the convergence speed and optimization performances of standard PSO and the proposed AHPSO algorithms are compared for two cases.In the first case,the performances of both the algorithms are compared for four different load distributions via an IEEE 10-bus system.In the second case,the performances of both the algorithms are compared for IEEE 10-bus,IEEE 33-bus,IEEE 69-bus systems,and a real distribution system of Korea.Simulation results show that the proposed AHPSO algorithm converges significantly faster than the standard PSO.The results of the proposed algorithm are compared with those of an analytical algorithm,and the results of them are similar.展开更多
