This study aimed to understand the current conditions of tourism related businesses perceptions in Al-Salt City. Qualitative research methodology has been developed to meet the research aim and objectives. The qualitative technique was used to understand the current condition of tourism related businesses by conducting a semi-structured interview based upon the opinions of the business owners. Fifty semi-structured interviews were connected with the business owners which operate directly and indirectly in tourism in order to gather enough data to meet the main aim for this research. The analysis revealed that businesses in Salt were less aware of tourism as a main source of income although they claimed otherwise. This could be concluded from their neglect to some factors that would help increasing income of which came from tourism, factors such as providing lists in foreign languages and employing foreign language speakers, etc. The result reveals that tourism related business has been improved over time and this was clear from the increased number of businesses that included tourism in their plan in the last 30 years. One of the important results of the study indicated that numbers of tourist customers were very low compared to other similar cities in Jordan and this was mainly caused by the poor services that were available for tourists in those businesses. 展开更多
