The morphology and particle size of NCC and nanocomposites were studied by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis and Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy. According to XRD results, the size of NCC was found to be at the range of 15 - 17 nm. SEM images showed the rod-like shape of NCC whiskers. Finally, biodegradation and swelling studies were performed on Cts/PVA/NCC nanocomposites.展开更多

ZnO powder was used to produce its nanoparticles (NPs) using conventional method. PVA/PANi composite was used to produce ZnO NPs. Polyaniline was synthesized in sol solution of PVA in the presence of ammonium persulphate. Morphology and the size of ZnO NPs in nanocomposites were studied via Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), X-ray Diffraction (XRD) analysis and Infrared (IR) spectroscopy. According to XRD results, the average size of prepared ZnO NPs was found to be at the range 22 - 34 nm. SEM images were shown hexagonal shape for ZnO NPs, which was used for the investigation of antibacterial property. Finally, the antibacterial activity of the prepared ZnO NPs and nanocomposites was evaluated against two bacteria of Gram positive Staphylococcus aureus and Gram negative Escherichia col using paper disc diffusion method. The results were shown that the prepared nanocomposites were effective against two bacteria.展开更多

Many studies have focused on the acute effects of MDMA on memory. In the present study, we intraperitoneally administered MDMA (0, 5, 10, 20 mg/kg) to adult male rats to investigate the effects of different doses on rat spatial memory in the Morris water maze, body temperature, and mortality, twice a day, for 7 successive days. The results indicated that MDMA impaired spatial memory dose-dependently, with the highest dose (20 mg/kg) exerting the strongest effects. In addition, MDMA also caused hyperthermia and increased mortality in rats展开更多
