The eight valid species previously placed in the agalliine leafhopper genus Chromagallia Linnavuori (C. saucia (StUd), C. carvalhoi Gongalves et al., C. lamasi Gongalves et al., C. lanceolata Gongalves et al., C. p...The eight valid species previously placed in the agalliine leafhopper genus Chromagallia Linnavuori (C. saucia (StUd), C. carvalhoi Gongalves et al., C. lamasi Gongalves et al., C. lanceolata Gongalves et al., C. paraguayensis Gongalves et al., and C. zanolae Gongalves et al.) are reviewed based on comparative morphological studies, and the concept of this genus is narrowed to include only three species with yellow maculae (C flavofasciata (Stal), C. longistilata (Coelho & Durra), and C. rodriguesoi sp. nov.). A redescription and revised diagnosis of the genus are provided. The type species, C. flavofasciata, is redescribed and the female of C. longistilata is described and illustrated in detail for the first time. Two new genera, Rubragallia, and Neorubragallia are erected to include the six species with red maculae formerly placed within Chromagallia. Rubragallia includes R. saucia (Stal) n. comb., and R. paraguayensis (Goncalves et al.) n. comb.. Neorubragallia includes N. lamasi (Goncalves et al. ) n. comb., N. lanceolata (Goncalves et al ) n. comb., N. zanolae (Goncalves et al.) n. comb., N. carvalhoi (Goncalves et al.) n. comb., and N. mervini sp. nov..
