The problem of compressibility corrections to the equation of motion of the bubble radius is addressed. A precise method for the calculation of the bubble internal pressure is described and some limit cases considered. Some numerical examples are included to illustrate the theoretical predictions. An experimental indication of the correctness of the theory is given by 'bubble-levitation' experiments. For bubbly liquids at small gas volume fractions results are shown for a 'shock-tube' problem and for the propagation of a sinusoidal pressure pulse through a thin layer of bubbly liquid.展开更多
