Cascade excitation of vortex motion and reentrant superconductivity in flexible Nb thin films

High quality Nb films were successfully prepared on both flexible polyimide(PI)and rigid Al2O3substrates and their transport properties were systematically studied at various applied currents,external magnetic fields,and sample orientations.It is found that a curved Nb/PI film exhibits quite different superconducting transition and vortex dynamics compared to the flat Nb/Al2O3film.For the curved Nb/PI film,smooth superconducting transitions were obtained at low currents,while unexpected cascade structures were revealed in theρ(T)curves at high currents.We attribute this phenomenon to the gradient distribution of vortex density together with a variation of superconductivity along the curved film.In addition,reentrant superconductivity was induced in the curved Nb/PI thin film by properly choosing the measurement conditions.We attribute this effect to the vortex pinning from both in-plane vortices and out-of-plane vortices.This work reveals the complex transport properties of curved superconducting thin films,providing important insights for further theoretical investigations and practical developments of flexible superconductors. 展开更多

Ta As,the first experimentally discovered Weyl semimetal material,has attracted a lot of attention due to its high carrier mobility,high anisotropy,nonmagnetic properties and strong interaction with light.These make it an ideal candidate for the study of Weyl fermions and applications in quantum computation,thermoelectric devices,and photodetection.For further basic physics studies and potential applications,large-size and high-quality Ta As films are urgently needed.However,it is difficult to grow As-stoichiometry Ta As films due to the volatilization of As during the growth.To solve this problem,we attempted to grow Ta As films on different substrates using targets with different As stoichiometric ratios via pulsed laser deposition(PLD).In this work,we found that partial As ions of the Ga As substrate are likely to diffuse into the Ta As films during growth,which was preliminarily confirmed by structural characterization,surface topography and composition analysis.As a result,the As content in the Ta As film was improved and the Ta As phase was achieved.Our work presents an effective method for the fabrication of Ta As films using PLD,enabling possible use of the Weyl semimetal film for functional devices. 展开更多

We studied the role of oxygen in Pr2 CuO_(4±δ) thin films fabricated by the polymer assisted deposition method. The magnetoresistance and Hall resistivity of Pr2 CuO_(4±δ) samples were systematically investigated. It was found that with decreasing oxygen content, the low-temperature Hall coefficient(RH) and magnetoresistance changed from negative to positive, similar to those with the increase of Ce-doped concentration in R_(2-x)Ce_x CuO_4 (R = La, Nd, Pr, Sm, Eu). In addition, we observed that the dependence of the superconducting critical temperature Tc with RH for the Pr_(2-x) Ce_x CuO_4 perfectly overlapped with that of Pr_2 CuO_(4±δ) . These findings point to the fact that the doped electrons induced by the oxygen removal are responsible for the superconductivity of the T-phase parent compounds. 展开更多

As an essential component of the Materials Genome Initiative aiming to shorten the period of materials research and development, combinatorial synthesis and rapid characterization technologies have been playing a more and more important role in exploring new materials and comprehensively understanding materials properties. In this review, we discuss the advantages of high-throughput experimental techniques in researches on superconductors. The evolution of combinatorial thin-film technology and several high-speed screening devices are briefly introduced. We emphasize the necessity to develop new high-throughput research modes such as a combination of high-throughput techniques and conventional methods. 展开更多

超导圆顶作为非常规超导材料的一个常见特征,其存在经常被用来作为区分常规与非常规超导材料的判别标准.本文利用脉冲激光沉积氮化锆薄膜,并通过改变薄膜中的氮含量,实现了超导圆顶于绝缘态附近的调控。利用电学输运、磁性表征、太赫兹... 超导圆顶作为非常规超导材料的一个常见特征,其存在经常被用来作为区分常规与非常规超导材料的判别标准.本文利用脉冲激光沉积氮化锆薄膜,并通过改变薄膜中的氮含量,实现了超导圆顶于绝缘态附近的调控。利用电学输运、磁性表征、太赫兹光谱、拉曼散射和透射电镜综合实验手段与密度泛函计算,作者发现氮化锆薄膜正常态存在从强绝缘到金属态再到弱绝缘的转变,其电阻率表现出类似于非常规超导的线性温度依赖到二次温度依赖特征.而氮化锆超导能隙及其转变温度符合BCS预期,其超导圆顶的演化与材料中电声耦合强度及结构无序相关,这项工作为“常规”超导材料中存在的“非常规”超导圆顶提供了强有力的证据与实例. 展开更多

高效、可靠地调控铜氧化物超导体的超导态,对其在下一代电子学中的应用具有重要意义.本文研究了绝缘Pr2CuO4±δ(PCO)薄膜的离子液体调控行为,发现可以利用两种不同的调控机制分别诱导出易失和非易失的超导态.在正电场调控下,薄膜... 高效、可靠地调控铜氧化物超导体的超导态,对其在下一代电子学中的应用具有重要意义.本文研究了绝缘Pr2CuO4±δ(PCO)薄膜的离子液体调控行为,发现可以利用两种不同的调控机制分别诱导出易失和非易失的超导态.在正电场调控下,薄膜可以在超导态和非超导态之间可逆转换,这归因于载流子的掺杂效应.另外,对绝缘的样品进行负偏压的调控,当偏压加至-4 V时,样品的电阻明显增大.值得关注的是,一旦撤去栅极电压,样品获得了非易失的超导电性.高分辨扫描电子显微镜和原位X射线衍射实验的结果表明,负向调控过程修复了铜氧面中的氧空位.对于电子型铜氧化物而言,这是一种诱导超导电性的独特途径.在同一个铜氧化物母体中有效地调控易失和非易失超导电性,为超导电子器件和高温超导体中量子相变的研究提供了新的渠道. 展开更多

近期,物理所团队发展新一代高通量组合外延薄膜技术,并应用于电子型铜氧化物LaCeCuO_(4)高温超导体系,成功揭示了超导转变温度与奇异金属散射率的普适物理规律.铁基超导体Fe_(y)Te_(1-x)Se_(x)结构简单却有丰富物性,是研究超导与磁性关... 近期,物理所团队发展新一代高通量组合外延薄膜技术,并应用于电子型铜氧化物LaCeCuO_(4)高温超导体系,成功揭示了超导转变温度与奇异金属散射率的普适物理规律.铁基超导体Fe_(y)Te_(1-x)Se_(x)结构简单却有丰富物性,是研究超导与磁性关系的理想载体.实验上,“富Se组分块材相分离”和“精细控制组分”是构建Fe_(y)Te_(1-x)Se_(x)完整相图面临的两个重大挑战.本文利用组合薄膜技术在一片衬底上外延生长了Se组分(x)从0到1连续分布、且Fe组分(y)精确控制的Fe_(y)Te_(1-x)Se_(x)薄膜,其微区c轴晶格常数呈现连续演化.利用微尺度输运测量可以在一片组合薄膜上获得系列电学性质随x的演化,其中x的相对分辨率达到0.0074,继而绘制了Fe_(y)Te_(1-x)Se_(x)(x,y)三维相图空间的2个y截面输运相图,并将输运结果与文献给出的自旋结构演化建立起构效关系. 展开更多

We report systematic in-plane magnetoresistance measurements on the electron-doped cuprate La_(2.x)Ce_xCuO_(4±δ) thin films as a function of Ce doping and oxygen content in the magnetic field up to 14 T. A cross... We report systematic in-plane magnetoresistance measurements on the electron-doped cuprate La_(2.x)Ce_xCuO_(4±δ) thin films as a function of Ce doping and oxygen content in the magnetic field up to 14 T. A crossover from negative to positive magnetoresistance occurs between the doping level x = 0.07 and 0.08. Above x = 0.08, the positive magnetoresistance effect appears, and is almost indiscernible at x = 0.15. By tuning the oxygen content, the as-grown samples show negative magnetoresistance effect, whereas the optimally annealed ones display positive magnetoresistance effect at the doping level x = 0.15. Intriguingly, a linear-field dependence of in-plane magnetoresistance is observed at the underdoping level x = 0.06, the optimal doping level x = 0.1 and slightly overdoping level x = 0.11. These anomalies of in-plane magnetoresistance may be related to the intrinsic inhomogeneity in the cuprates, which is discussed in the framework of network model. 展开更多
