The laser scribing of polyimide(PI, Kapton) film is a new, simple and effective method for graphene preparation. Moreover,the superhydrophobic surface modification can undoubtedly widen the application fields of graphene. Herein, inspired by the hydrophobic and self-cleaning properties of natural Oxalis corniculata Linn. leaves, we propose a novel bionic manufacturing method for superhydrophobic laser-induced graphene(LIG). By tailoring the geometric parameters(size, roughness and height/area ratio) and chemical composition, the three-dimensional(3D) multistage LIG, i.e., with micro-jigsaw-like and porous structure, can deliver a static water contact angle(WCA) of 153.5° ± 0.6°, a water sliding angle(WSA) of 2.5° ±0.5°, and great superhydrophobic stability lasting for 100 days(WCAs ≈ 150°). This outstanding water repellency is achieved by the secondary structure of jigsaw-like LIG, a porous morphology that traps air layers at the solid–liquid interface. The robust self-cleaning and anti-stick functions of 3D bionic and multistage LIG are demonstrated to confirm its great potential in wearable electronics. 展开更多

Recently, a configuration using atomic interferometers (AIs) had been sug- gested for the detection of gravitational waves. A new AI with some additional laser pulses for implementing large momentum transfer was also put forward, in order to reduce the effect of shot noise and laser frequency noise. We use a sensitivity function to analyze all possible configurations of the new AI and to distinguish how many mo- menta are transferred in a specific configuration. By analyzing the new configuration, we further explore a detection scheme for gravitational waves, in particular, that ame- liorates laser frequency noise. We find that the amelioration occurs in such a scheme, but novelly, in some cases, the frequency noise can be canceled completely by using a proper data processing method. 展开更多

Pipeline inner inspection technology based on Pipeline Inspection Gauge(PIG),is the primary means for ensuring the safety of submarine pipelines.The dynamic characteristics of a PIG can change abruptly with the excitation of obstacles such as girth welds inside the pipeline,which would result in failure or inaccuracy of the inspection results.This study establishes a dynamic model of the PIG sealing disc based on Kelvin spring damping in the circumferentially confined space.The axial vibration differential equations of the PIG is examined in detail.MSC/ADAMS is used to conduct the dynamic simulation of the PIG at different motion velocities and center of mass positions while passing through the girth weld process.Results indicate that the axial vibration caused by the girth weld intensifies substantially as the speed of the PIG increases,while the pitch and vertical vibrations exhibit a significant decline with an increase in the motion velocity.The change in the PIG’s center of mass positions has little effect on its axial vibration,while the pitch and vertical vibration conditions are significantly different in the same circumstances. 展开更多

The Colored Oil Property Effect on Switching Behavior of Electro-Fluidic Display

The switchable oil layer driven by electrowetting gives visible color and light valve control, which is the basis of Electro-Fluidic Displays. The colored oil’s property is a key factor that influences the Electro-Fluidic Displays switching behavior. A purple oil was formulated by the oil-soluble purple dye in decane in this study. The dye molecule itself is nonpolar and it doesn’t dissolve in water. The concentration of colored oil influenced the oil/water interfacial tension and oil viscosity. The relationship of EFD switching behavior with oil/water interfacial tension, oil viscosity, and oil conductivity has been systematically investigated. The oil/water interfacial tension decreased with increasing oil concentration, in the meanwhile, the conductivity increased. Oil conductivity was one of the key factors that influenced the Electro-Fluidic Displays optical property. We found for the first time that at the lower oil concentration (2% - 10%), the interfacial tension plays a main role effect on the rupture voltage and response time, but as the conductivity of higher concentration of colored oil increased (at 20%), the rupture voltage-controlled both by conductivity and interfacial tension. 展开更多

Microlens arrays(MLAs)based on the selective wetting have opened new avenues for developing compact and miniaturized imaging and display techniques with ultrahigh resolution beyond the traditional bulky and volumetric optics.However,the selective wetting lenses explored so far have been constrained by the lack of precisely defined pattern for highly controllable wettability contrast,thus limiting the available droplet curvature and numerical aperture,which is a major challenge towards the practical high-performance MLAs.Here we report a mold-free and self-assembly approach of mass-production of scalable MLAs,which can also have ultrasmooth surface,ultrahigh resolution,and the large tuning range of the curvatures.The selective surface modification based on tunable oxygen plasma can facilitate the precise pattern with adjusted chemical contrast,thus creating large-scale microdroplets array with controlled curvature.The numerical aperture of the MLAs can be up to 0.26 and precisely tuned by adjusting the modification intensity or the droplet dose.The fabricated MLAs have high-quality surface with subnanometer roughness and allow for record-high resolution imaging up to equivalently 10,328 ppi,as we demonstrated.This study shows a cost-effective roadmap for mass-production of high-performance MLAs,which may find applications in the rapid proliferating integral imaging industry and high-resolution display. 展开更多

新型冠状病毒肺炎(COVID-19)疫情已经蔓延至全国各地,包括陕西省在内很多省份的早期疫情均以输入病例为主,后期的疫情在严格的防控措施下也已呈下降趋势.评价防控措施的有效性、分析人口流动对疫情的影响对于研究陕西省(或其他以输入病... 新型冠状病毒肺炎(COVID-19)疫情已经蔓延至全国各地,包括陕西省在内很多省份的早期疫情均以输入病例为主,后期的疫情在严格的防控措施下也已呈下降趋势.评价防控措施的有效性、分析人口流动对疫情的影响对于研究陕西省(或其他以输入病例为主的地区)疫情和未来应对突发性传染病有着重要的意义.根据陕西省卫生健康委员会(简称卫健委)公布的详实数据信息可以挖掘传播链(感染树),得到从发病到首诊、入院、确诊的中位持续时间,每日潜伏者类、感染者类、治疗者类的具体人数和感染者状态转移的空间分布.本文计算确定COVID-19疫情的控制再生数(1.48–1.69),并发展新的统计推断方法获得陕西省严控措施下的有效再生数;进而提出一个全新的融入了公共卫生干预和输入病例的离散随机COVID-19疫情传播模型,通过多源数据实现了模型的参数化,分析不同的流动模式、输入人口中感染者的比例对二次暴发风险的影响.主要结论显示,间歇性的人口流动、密切关注和有效隔离流动人口中的感染者能有效降低二次暴发的风险,为有序组织复工、复学提供决策支持. 展开更多

The basic reproduction number of an infectious agent is the average number of infections one case can generate over the course of the infectious period,in a naïve,uninfected population.It is well-known that the estimation of this number may vary due to several methodological issues,including different assumptions and choice of parameters,utilized models,used datasets and estimation period.With the spreading of the novel coronavirus(2019-nCoV)infection,the reproduction number has been found to vary,reflecting the dynamics of transmission of the coronavirus outbreak as well as the case reporting rate.Due to significant variations in the control strategies,which have been changing over time,and thanks to the introduction of detection technologies that have been rapidly improved,enabling to shorten the time from infection/symptoms onset to diagnosis,leading to faster confirmation of the new coronavirus cases,our previous estimations on the transmission risk of the 2019-nCoV need to be revised.By using time-dependent contact and diagnose rates,we refit our previously proposed dynamics transmission model to the data available until January 29th,2020 and re-estimated the effective daily reproduction ratio that better quantifies the evolution of the interventions.We estimated when the effective daily reproduction ratio has fallen below 1 and when the epidemics will peak.Our updated findings suggest that the best measure is persistent and strict self-isolation.The epidemics will continue to grow,and can peak soon with the peak time depending highly on the public health interventions practically implemented. 展开更多

In this study,the deformable titanium(Ti)particles reinforced AZ91 composite was successfully prepared by powder metallurgy and subsequent extrusion.The mechanical properties and microstructural evolution of pure AZ91 and 5 Ti/AZ91 composite were studied.The yield strength,ultimate tensile strength,and elongation of 5 Ti/AZ91 composite are measured to be 212 MPa,323 MPa,and 10.1%,respectively.Microstructure analysis revealed that Ti particles are elongated along the extrusion direction,forming a discontinuous strip Ti particles,fine precipitated Mg_(17)Al_(12) phase inhibits dynamic recrystallization(DRX)behavior through Zener pinning effect and hinders the growth of matrix grains,resulting in refiner grains of 5 Ti/AZ91 composite.Heterogeneous deformed Ti particles and magnesium(Mg)matrix to generate additional heterogeneous deformation-induced(HDI)strengthening.Heterogeneous deformation-induced strengthening mainly contributed to the increment of yield strength for 5 Ti/AZ91 composite. 展开更多

The complete genome of methanol-utilizing Amycolatopsis methanolica strain 239T was generated,revealing a single 7,237,391 nucleotide circular chromosome with 7074 annotated protein-coding sequences(CDSs).Comparative analyses against the complete genome sequences of Amycolatopsis japonica strain MG417-CF17T,Amycolatopsis mediterranei strain U32 and Amycolatopsis orientalis strain HCCB10007 revealed a broad spectrum of genomic structures,including various genome sizes,core/quasi-core/non-core configurations and different kinds of episomes.Although polyketide synthase gene clusters were absent from the A.methanolica genome,12 gene clusters related to the biosynthesis of other specialized(secondary)metabolites were identified.Complete pathways attributable to the facultative methylotrophic physiology of A.methanolica strain 239T,including both the mdo/mscR encoded methanol oxidation and the hps/hpi encoded formaldehyde assimilation via the ribulose monophosphate cycle,were identified together with evidence that the latter might be the result of horizontal gene transfer.Phylogenetic analyses based on 16S rDNA or orthologues of AMETH_3452,a novel actinobacterial class-specific conserved gene against 62 or 18 Amycolatopsis type strains,respectively,revealed three major phyletic lineages,namely the mesophilic or moderately thermophilic A.orientalis subclade(AOS),the mesophilic Amycolatopsis taiwanensis subclade(ATS)and the thermophilic A.methanolica subclade(AMS).The distinct growth temperatures of members of the subclades correlated with corresponding genetic variations in their encoded compatible solutes.This study shows the value of integrating conventional taxonomic with whole genome sequence data. 展开更多

Objective: To evaluate the clinical effect of postconditioning on patients with ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) treated with primary percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). Methods: Randomized controlled trials were identified by searching relevant databases published up to April 2nd, 2014. A meta-analysis of eligible studies was performed by Stata 12.0 and Review Manager 5.2 with a fixed-effect model. Results: Ten studies providing adverse cardiac events in a total of 1346 STEMI patients treated with primary PCI were identified. The occurrence of heart failure was significantly reduced in patients treated with postconditioning compared with usual care (risk ratio (RR) 0.533; 95% confidence intervals (CI) 0.368-0.770), whereas non-fatal reinfarction slightly increased in the postconditioning group (RR 2.746; 95% CI 1.007-7.488). No significant difference in total major adverse cardiac events (MACEs) was observed between the two groups (RR 0.876; 95% CI 0.671-1.144). Conclusions: Postcondi- tioning in STEMI patients undergoing primary PCI significantly reduces the risk of heart failure, but fails to decrease the incidence of total MACEs and the risk of non-fatal reinfarction. 展开更多
