Improving the electrical performances of InSe transistors by interface engineering

InSe has emerged as a promising candidate for next-generation electronics due to its predicted ultrahigh electrical performance.However,the efficacy of the InSe transistor in meeting application requirements is hindered due to its sensitivity to interfaces.In this study,we have achieved notable enhancement in the electrical performance of InSe transistors through interface engineering.We engineered an InSe/h-BN heterostructure,effectively suppressing dielectric layer-induced scattering.Additionally,we successfully established excellent metal-semiconductor contacts using graphene ribbons as a buffer layer.Through a methodical approach to interface engineering,our graphene/InSe/h-BN transistor demonstrates impressive on-state current,field-effect mobility,and on/off ratio at room temperature,reaching values as high as 1.1 mA/μm,904 cm^(2)·V^(-1)·s^(-1),and>10~6,respectively.Theoretical computations corroborate that the graphene/InSe heterostructure shows significant interlayer charge transfer and weak interlayer interaction,contributing to the enhanced performance of InSe transistors.This research offers a comprehensive strategy to elevate the electrical performance of InSe transistors,paving the way for their utilization in future electronic applications. 展开更多

Large-scale solar sails can provide power to spacecraft for deep space exploration.A new type of telescopic tubular mast(TTM)driven by a bistable carbon fiber-reinforced polymer tube was designed in this study to solve the problem of contact between the sail membrane and the spacecraft under light pressure.Compared with the traditional TTM,it has a small size,light weight,high extension ratio,and simple structure.The anti-blossoming and self-unlocking structure of the proposed TTM was described.We aimed to simplify the TTM with a complex structure into a beam model with equal linear mass density,and the simulation results showed good consistency.The dynamic equation was derived based on the equivalent model,and the effects of different factors on the vibration characteristics of the TTM were analyzed.The performance parameters were optimized based on a multiobjective genetic algorithm,and prototype production and load experiments were conducted.The results show that the advantages of the new TTM can complete the deployment of large-scale solar sails,which is valuable for future deep space exploration. 展开更多

Space-deployable mechanisms can be used as supporting structures for large-diameter antennas in space engineering.This study proposes a novel method for constructing the surface design of space reflector antennas based on polar scissor units.The concurrency and deployability equations of the space scissor unit with definite surface constraints are derived using the rod and vector methods.Constraint equations of the spatial transformation for space n-edge polar scissor units are summarized.A new closed-loop deployable structure,called the polar scissor deployable antenna(PSDA),is designed by combining planar polar scissor units with spatial polar scissor units.The overconstrained problem is solved by releasing the curve constraint that locates at the end-point of the planar scissor mechanism.Kinematics simulation and error analysis are performed.The results show that the PSDA can effectively fit the paraboloid of revolution.Finally,deployment experiments verify the validity and feasibility of the proposed design method,which provides a new idea for the construction of large space-reflector antennas. 展开更多

A 2D hybrid-PIC simulation model is proposed to investigate the beam extraction phenomena of the ion thruster. In which the electrons of the plasma sheath upstream the accelerator grid are assumed as particles while the downstream are fluid for improving the calculation efficiency. The ion transparency, plasma sheath formation, ion beam extraction characteristic of a two- and three-grid system have been compared in detail in this paper. From the comparison of the appearing time of the under-perveance phenomena in the two- and three-grid system, it illustrated that the two grid system has the wider operation range of the plasma densities than the three-grid one. 展开更多

Locoweed is a poisonous plant that severely harms the development of grass-land and animal husbandry throughout the world. Oxytropis and Astragalus are the Latin names for the poisonous plants commonly known as locoweed. The main toxic substance in these plants is swainsonine. It is a strong inhibitor of lysosomal α-mannosidase I and Golgi body α-mannosidase II, resulting in the accumulation of oligosaccharides and glycoproteins in lysosomes, interfering with the molecular and cellular recognition of glycans, and causing tissue-cell vacuolar degeneration. Livestock shows a series of clinical and pathological symptoms, mainly for the decline of reproductive performance. The effects in dams are abortion, weak fetus, and fetal malformations. The key step in maintaining pregnancy in dams is early endometrial decidualization, because reproductive hormones, decidual cell apoptosis, endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress, and other immune factors are negatively affected by swainsonine. This article addresses the modifications that occur through glycan processing and glycosylation resulting in the change of post-translational modification of the protein and the activity of the glycoprotein, and then direct and indirect mechanisms of ER stress, apoptosis, reproductive hormones, immune factors, and cell cycle and other pathways. Our aim is to find new methods of prevention and treatment of swainsonine poisoning in grassland animals. 展开更多

Solar sail technology has been proposed and developed for space explorations with advantages of low launch cost,no-propellant consumption,and continuous thrust,which has great potentials in earth polar detection,interstellar explorations and etc.The development of solar sail has made significant progress in structural design,manufacturing,materials,orbit transfer,and stability control in the past few decades,which makes meaningful contributions to astronomy,physics,and aerospace science.Technological breakthroughs of Solar Radiation Pressure(SRP)propulsion and interstellar transfer have been achieved in current solar sail missions.However,there are still many challenges and problems need to be solved.This paper attempts to summarize the research schemes and potential applications of solar sailing in space missions from the viewpoint of key technologies,so as to provide an overall perspective for researchers in this field.Analyses of the key technologies of solar sailing system design are provided.Finally,challenges and prospective development of solar sailing are discussed. 展开更多

The miniaturization of transistors led to advances in computers mainly to speed up their computation.Such miniaturization has approached its fundamental limits.However,many practices require better computational resources than the capabilities of existing computers.Fortunately,the development of quantum computing brings light to solve this problem.We briefly review the history of quantum computing and highlight some of its advanced achievements.Based on current studies,the Quantum Computing Advantage(QCA)seems indisputable.The challenge is how to actualize the practical quantum advantage(PQA).It is clear that machine learning can help with this task.The method used for high accuracy surface modelling(HASM)incorporates reinforced machine learning.It can be transformed into a large sparse linear system and combined with the Harrow-Hassidim-Lloyd(HHL)quantum algorithm to support quantum machine learning.HASM has been successfully used with classical computers to conduct spatial interpolation,upscaling,downscaling,data fusion and model-data assimilation of ecoenvironmental surfaces.Furthermore,a training experiment on a supercomputer indicates that our HASM-HHL quantum computing approach has a similar accuracy to classical HASM and can realize exponential acceleration over the classical algorithms.A universal platform for hybrid classical-quantum computing would be an obvious next step along with further work to improve the approach because of the many known limitations of the HHL algorithm.In addition,HASM quantum machine learning might be improved by:(1)considerably reducing the number of gates required for operating HASM-HHL;(2)evaluating cost and benchmark problems of quantum machine learning;(3)comparing the performance of the quantum and classical algorithms to clarify their advantages and disadvantages in terms of accuracy and computational speed;and(4)the algorithms would be added to a cloud platform to support applications and gather active feedback from users of the algorithms. 展开更多

With the rapid development of space technology and the increasing demand for space missions,the traditional spacecraft manufacturing,deployment and launch methods have been unable to meet existing needs.In-space assembly(ISA)technologies can effectively adapt to the assembly of large space structures,improve spacecraft performance,and reduce operating costs.In this paper,the development and technologies for ISA are reviewed.ISA is classified from multiple angles,and the research status of ISA is shown clearly through the visual mapping knowledge domain.Then the development status of autonomous robot assembly in the United States,Europe,Japan,Canada and China is reviewed.Furthermore,the key technologies of ISA are analyzed from three aspects:assembly structure design,robot technologies and integrated management technologies.ISA technologies are still facing major challenges and need to be further explored to promote future development.Finally,future development trends and potential applications of ISA are given,which show that ISA will play a vital role in human space exploration in the future. 展开更多

Monitoring the chemical and structural changes in protein side chains and endpoints by infrared(IR)spectroscopy is important for studying the chemical reaction and physical adsorption process of proteins.However,the detection of side chains and endpoints in nanoscale proteins is still challenging due to its weak IR response.Here,by designing a double layered graphene plasmon sensor on MgF2/Si substrate in the IR fingerprint region,we detect the vibrational modes in side chains and endpoints(1397 cm^-1 and 1458 cm^-1)of monolayer protein.The sensor could be applied on biochemistry to investigate the physical and chemical reaction of biomolecules. 展开更多

Programmed death 1(PD-1)and its ligand PD-L1 are two typical immune checkpoints.Antibody-based immune checkpoint blockade(ICB)strategy targeting PD-1/PD-L1 achieved a significant therapeutic effect on cancer.However,due to the impenetrability of antibody drugs and the occurrence of immune-related adverse events,only a minority of patients benefit from this treatment.Peptides multimerization has been widely proved to be an effective method to improve receptor binding affinity through a multivalent synergistic effect.In this study,we report a novel peptide-aggregation-induced emission(AIE)hybrid supramolecular TAP,which can self-assemble into nanofibers through non-covalent interactions such as hydrogen bonds,with a specific nanomolar affinity to PD-L1 in vivo and in vitro.Combined with near-infrared agents,it can be used for tumor imaging and photothermal therapy,which enables photothermal ablation of cancer cells for generating tumor-associated antigen(TAA)and triggering a series of immunological events.Collectively,our work suggests that synthetic self-assembled peptide nanofibers can be developed as attractive platforms for active photothermal immunotherapies against cancer. 展开更多
