The total phenolic and flavonoid contents of C. cochinchinensis extracts were analyzed, and the antioxidant activity and reducing ability of C. cochinchinensis extracts were also evaluated. Tetrahydroxyflavanonol (THF) was isolated from the xylem and pith portions of C. cochinchinensis stem;however, the bark portion of C. cochinchinensis stem was found to contain no THF. Consequently, solutions extracted from the xylem and pith portions of C. cochinchinensis showed good antioxidant activity. The IC50 values of pith, xylem, and bark extracts were 0.779, 3.020, and 3.507 mg/mL, respectively. As the pith portion of C. cochinchinensis stem contained more THF and had a higher flavonoid content, it exhibited better antioxidant activity and reducing ability. In addition, C. cochinchinensis pith extracts reduced tyrosinase activity in a dose-dependent manner with IC50 = 16.1 μg/mL. The inhibitory activity was determined to be noncompetitive with Km = 0.23 mM.展开更多

This change caused the heat pipe to have copper-like heat transfer behavior. Experimental performances first built a CPU simulator with maximum heat power 300 W in accordance with the ASTM standard as heat source and measured temperature distribution by using infrared thermography and thermocouple thermometer. Observation of heat transfer behavior inside heat pipe influenced by its integration with cooling plates used color schlieren technique. A commercial CPU heat pipe cooler was also used as reference object in this work. Integration of the heat pipe with cooling plates causes the heat pipe to have the copper-like heat transfer behavior. The results indicate that rebuilding the bare heat pipe’s heat transfer behavior is the best solution for improving cooling efficiency of the heat pipe cooler.展开更多

The frequencies of electromagnetic wave are mainly focused on emission of daily electrical equipments, which are normally called “low frequency electromagnetic waves”. In this work, a water pump with maximum magnetic field intensity of ca. 2300 mG was applied as emission source of the electromagnetic wave. Experimental measurements used various shielding materials with the major constituent iron (Fe) in the form of plate for studying shielding effect of electromagnetic wave. The studied parameters were different thicknesses and gaps of the plate. The results show that pure iron plate has the best effect for shielding the magnetic field and its transmission ratio of magnetic field is proportional to distance between the emission source and the shielding plate. Moreover, the shielding plate close to the emission source received better protection.展开更多

This study shows that TiO2/water nanofluid causes enhancement, but temperature rise reduces pressure drop. The proportional increase in pressure drop for turbulent flow is lower than that for laminar flow. The traditional equation for pressure drop fails to accurately estimate the pressure drop for laminar and turbulent flows. Accordingly, this study developed new empirical equations for the friction factor for both laminar and turbulent flows, and the maximum deviations between calculated and experimental results were reduced to within the ranges of-6.17% to 3.55% and -3.08% to 3.81%, respectively, that is, for TiO2/water nanofluid, the correlations apply better to turbulent than to laminar flow.展开更多

The results showed photocatalytic efficiency could reach 35,59% at 21 ℃ and 36.39% at 26℃ with 7 photocatalyst filters and 5 UVC lamps, the overall efficiency of formaldehyde removal of 52.37% at 21 ℃, and 56.8% at 26 ℃, By all experimental data can be found that the temperature for the photocatalytic performance is not obvious in the range of this study.展开更多
