A Novel Hexanordammarane Glycoside from the Roots of Panax notoginseng

Notoginsenoside R-111, a novel hexanordammarane glycoside was isolated from the roots of Panax nototginseng, as a minor constituent. Its structure was determined as 6-O-(beta -D-glucopyranosyl)-3 beta ,6 alpha ,12 beta -trihydroxy-22,23,24,25,26,27-hexanordammaran-20-one(1), by means of spectroscopic methods.

Two New Dammarane Glycosides from the Acid Hydrolysis Product of Panax Notoginseng

Two new dammarane glycosides named notoginsenoside T-1 and T-2 were isolated from the mild acid hydrolysis products of the root saponins of Panax notoginseng. On the basis of spectroscopic evidences, their structures were elucidated to be 6-O-beta -D-glucopyranosyl-24(25)-epoxy-3 beta ,6 alpha ,12 beta ,23 xi -tetrahydroxydammar-20(22)(E)-ene 1 and 6-O-beta -D-glucopyranosyl-24(25)-epoxy-23 xi -methoxyl-3 beta ,6 alpha ,12 beta -trihydroxydamm-ar-20(22)(E)-ene 2, respectively.

New Sesquiterpenoids from Hedychium yunnanense gagnep

Two new sesquiterpenoid trialcohol isomers named 1b, 4a 11a-trihydroxyeudesmane (1) and Yunnanensehedychetriol (2), were isolated from the fresh rhizomes of Hedychium Yunnanense gagnep .Their structures were elucidated by spectroscopic methods.

Monepaloside K, a New Triterpenoid Saponin from Morina nepalensis var. alba Hand. - Mazz.

One new triterpenoid saponin, monepaloside K (1) was isolated from the water-soluble part of the whole plant of a famous Tibetan medicinal herb, morina nepalensis var. alba Hand.-Mazz.. Its structure was determined to be 3-O-a-L-arabinopyranosyl-(13)-b-D- xylopyranosyl siaresinolic acid on the basis of spectroscopic evidences, especially 2D NMR techniques.

Tsaokoin,a New Bicyclic Nonane from Amomum tsao-ko

7α-Hydroxy-8β,9β-H- cis- bicyclo[4,3,0]non-4-ene-4-aldehyde, a nonane compound with novel skeleton, named tsaokoin, was isolated from the fruits of Amomum tsao-ko. Its structure was established on the basis of spectral analysis.

Two new spirostanol glycosides named agamenoside A and B, were isolated from the fermented leaves of Agave americana. Their structures were elucidated as (23S, 25R)-5a -spirostan-3b, 6a, 23-triol 3-O-a-L-rhamnopyranosyl-(13)- b-D-glucopyranosyl-(12)-[b-D- xylopyranosyl-(13)]-b-D-glucopyranosyl-(14)-b-D-galactopyranoside (1) and (25R)-5a-spiro- stan-3b, 6a-diol 3-O-b-D-glucopyranosyl-(12)-[ b-D-xylopyranosyl-(13)]- b-D-glucopyra- nosyl-(14)- b-D-galactopyranoside (2) by a combination of chemical and spectral methods.

Two New Spirostanol Steroidal Sapogenins from Fermented Leaves of Agave americana

Two new spirostanol sapogenins named agavegenin A and B were isolated from the fermented leaves of Agave americana L. Their structures were elucidated as (23S, 25R)-5a- spirostan-3b, 6a, 11a, 23-tetraol (1) and (23S, 25S)-5a-spirostan-3b, 23, 27-triol (2) by spectral methods.
