The present study aimed to determine the role of KAI1 in lymphatic metastasis, specifically in pancreatic cancer. METHODS: The KAI1 gene was transfected into the pancreatic cancer cell line MIA PaCa-2 and PANC-1 by using liposomes and selected by G418, and the protein was measured by Western blotting. After successful infection, the cell growth curve was studied by MTT, vascular endothelial growth factor C(VEGF-C) secretion by pancreatic cancer cell were measured by ELISA. The KAI1 and pCMV transfected MIA PaCa-2 cells were renamed as MIA PaCa-2-K and MIA PaCa-2-p. These two kinds of cells were injected into the subcuticular layer of nude mice; both tumor growth and metastasis through the lymphatic nodes were assessed. Lymphangiogenesis in tumors was measured by immunohistochemistry. RESULTS: The VEGF-C secretion was significantly reduced in MIA PaCa-2 cells compared with PANC-1 cells after being transfected with the KAI1 gene. The growth rate of subcutaneous tumors was similar after the injection of MIA PaCa-2-K, MIA PaCa-2, and MIA PaCa-2-p. MIA PaCa-2-K tumors showed slower lymphangiogenesis and lymph node metastasis compared with MIA PaCa-2 and MIA PaCa-2-p tumors. CONCLUSION: The overexpression of KAI1 inhibits the lymphangiogenesis and lymph node metastasis of MIA PaCa-2 pancreatic tumors.展开更多

BACKGROUND Polyarthritis is the most frequent clinical manifestation in antisynthetase syndrome(ASS)forms of idiopathic inflammatory myositis and may be misdiagnosed as rheumatoid arthritis(RA),particularly in patient...BACKGROUND Polyarthritis is the most frequent clinical manifestation in antisynthetase syndrome(ASS)forms of idiopathic inflammatory myositis and may be misdiagnosed as rheumatoid arthritis(RA),particularly in patients with seronegative RA(SNRA).It is unclear whether there is an overlap between ASS and RA,or if ASS sometimes mimics RA.Pulmonary hypertension(PAH)is common in connective tissue diseases(CTDs).However,published reports on CTD-PAH do not include overlapping CTDs,and its incidence and impact on patient prognosis are unclear.CASE SUMMARY We report the case of a 63-year-old woman who presented with a 3-mo history of symptom aggravation of recurrent symmetrical joint swelling and pain that had persisted for over 10 years.The patient was diagnosed with RA and interstitial lung disease.The patient repeatedly presented to the hospital’s respiratory and rhe-umatology departments with arthralgia,plus shortness of breath after activity.Relevant tests indicated that anti-CCP and RF remained negative,while anti-J0-1 and anti-Ro-52 were strongly positive.It was not until recently that we recognized that this could be an unusual case of SNRA with concurrent ASS.Joint pain was relieved after regular anti-rheumatic treatment.Chest computed tomography scans showed that pulmonary interstitial changes did not progress significantly over several years;however,they showed gradual widening of the pulmonary artery,and cardiac ultrasound indicated elevated pulmonary artery systolic pressure.The prescribed treatment of PAH was not effective in improving shortness of breath.CONCLUSION Overlap of RA and ASS may be missed.Further research is necessary to facilitate early diagnosis,effective evaluation,and prognosis.展开更多
In this study,we report the fabrication of a sensitive deep ultraviolet(DUV)photodetector by using CsPbBr_(3) nanosheets synthesized through confined-space growth at room temperature.The peak pho-toresponse of the dev...In this study,we report the fabrication of a sensitive deep ultraviolet(DUV)photodetector by using CsPbBr_(3) nanosheets synthesized through confined-space growth at room temperature.The peak pho-toresponse of the device upon illumination blueshifts with decreasing thickness and a 68 nm CsPbBr_(3) nanosheet based device displays a peak response to 265 nm illumination,showing responsivity and spe-cific detectivity of 85 mA/W and 4.05×1011 Jones at 3 V bias,respectively.Theoretical simulation re-veals that the blueshift is associated with the wavelength-dependent absorption coefficient of CsPbBr_(3) nanosheet:incident light with shorter wavelengths can be absorbed on the superficial surface,while long-wavelength light has a larger penetration depth,leading to dominant DUV absorption in thinner CsPbBr_(3) nanosheet.This work will shed light on the facile and cost-effective fabrication of DUV photode-tectors from non-ultrawide bandgap(UWBG)all-inorganic perovskite materials.展开更多

Comprehensive Summary The conversion of CF3-alkenes to gem-difluoroalkenes using reductive cross-coupling strategy has received much attention in recent years,however,the use of green and readily available reducing sa...Comprehensive Summary The conversion of CF3-alkenes to gem-difluoroalkenes using reductive cross-coupling strategy has received much attention in recent years,however,the use of green and readily available reducing salt to mediate these reactions remains to be explored.In this work,a concise construction of gem-difluoroalkenes,which requires neither a catalyst nor a metal reducing agent,was established.Rongalite,a safe and inexpensive industrial product,was employed as both a radical initiator and reductant.This procedure was compatible with both linear and cyclic diaryliodonium salts,enabling a wide variety of substrates(>70 examples).The utility of this approach was demonstrated through gram-scale synthesis and efficient late-stage functionalizations of anti-inflammatory drugs.展开更多
