In this study,commercial copper(Cu)foil and Cu foam are used as the working electrodes to systematically investigate the electrochemical deposition and dissolution processes of metallic lithium(Li)on these electrodes;Li metal deposited on the Cu foil electrode is porous and loose.The surface solid electrolyte interface(SEI)film after dissolution from Li dendrites maintains a dendritic porous structure,resulting in a large volume effect of the electrode during the cycle.The Cu foam electrode provides preferential nucleation and deposition sites near the side surface of the separator;the difference in Li affinity results in a heterogeneous deposition and dendrite growth of metallic Li. 展开更多

This paper investigated the dependence of out-of-plane electret-based vibration energy harvesters’output power,frequency bandwidth,and resonance frequency on surface charge density and load resistance.As the external acceleration amplitude and electret size were held constant,the following results are predicted by the numerical investigation:(1)An optimum value exists in the surface charge density to maximize the output power.As the surface charge density is increasing,electrostatic forces are enhanced,which emphasizes that the soft spring effect widens the frequency bandwidth and lowers the resonance frequency.(2)Different surface charge densities correspond to different optimum initial air gaps,resonance frequency,and optimum load resistance.(3)With the attenuation of the surface potential,the output power,frequency drift,and frequency bandwidth decreased.(4)An optimum value exists in the load resistance to maximize the output power.As the load resistance is decreasing,electrostatic force is enhanced,which lowers the resonance frequency.(5)A maximum frequency bandwidth exists with further load resistance increasing,and the initial air gap is smaller,the greater the frequency bandwidth. 展开更多

Objective This study aimed to determine the efficacy of chemotherapy and to identify potential chemotherapy agents to treat advanced primary duodenal carcinoma(PDC). Methods Seventy-three patients with advanced PDC were included in the study. Response rate(RR), disease control rate(DCR), progression-free survival(PFS), overall survival(OS) and prognosis were compared among patients using the Cox proportional hazards model. Results The overall RR and DCR of 52 patients were 21.15% and 69.23%, respectively. The median PFS and OS times were 4.51 and 11.47 months, respectively. Palliative chemotherapy improved the OS of patients with advanced PDC compared with patients who did not receive chemotherapy(14.28 months vs. 5.20 months, HR = 0.205, 95% CI: 0.077 to 0.547, P = 0.0016). Multivariate analysis indicated mucinous histology and liver metastasis as factors predictive of poor prognosis in patients with advanced PDC. Conclusion Palliative chemotherapy may improve the OS of patients with advanced PDC. Mucinous histology and liver metastasis were the main prognostic factors in patients with advanced PDC. 展开更多

Soil is inhabited by a myriad of microorganisms,many of which can form supracellular structures,called biofilms,comprised of surface-associated microbial cells embedded in hydrated extracellular polymeric substance that facilitates adhesion and survival.Biofilms enable intensive inter-and intra-species interactions that can increase the degradation efficiency of soil organic matter and materials commonly regarded as toxins.Here,we first discuss organization,dynamics and properties of soil biofilms in the context of traditional approaches to probe the soil microbiome.Social interactions among bacteria,such as cooperation and competition,are discussed.We also summarize different biofilm cultivation devices in combination with optics and fluorescence microscopes as well as sequencing techniques for the study of soil biofilms.Microfluidic platforms,which can be applied to mimic the complex soil environment and study microbial behaviors at the microscale with highthroughput screening and novel measurements,are also highlighted.This review aims to highlight soil biofilm research in order to expand the current limited knowledge about soil microbiomes which until now has mostly ignored biofilms as a dominant growth form. 展开更多
