Social dysfunction is a risk factor for several neuropsychiatric illnesses.Previous studies have shown that the lateral septum(LS)-related pathway plays a critical role in mediating social behaviors.Howeve r,the role ...Social dysfunction is a risk factor for several neuropsychiatric illnesses.Previous studies have shown that the lateral septum(LS)-related pathway plays a critical role in mediating social behaviors.Howeve r,the role of the connections between the LS and its downstream brain regions in social behavio rs remains unclea r.In this study,we conducted a three-chamber test using electrophysiological and chemogenetic approaches in mice to determine how LS projections to ventral CA1(vCA1)influence sociability.Our res ults showed that gamma-aminobutyric acid(GABA)-e rgic neuro ns were activated following social experience,and that social behavio rs were enhanced by chemogenetic modulation of these neurons.Moreover,LS GABAergic neurons extended their functional neural connections via vCA1 glutamatergic pyramidal neurons,and regulating LSGABA→vCA1Gluneural projections affected social behaviors,which were impeded by suppressing LSprojecting vCA1 neuronal activity or inhibiting GABAAreceptors in vCA1.These findings support the hypothesis that LS inputs to the vCA1 can control social prefe rences and social novelty behaviors.These findings provide new insights rega rding the neural circuits that regulate sociability.展开更多

Wearable electronics have promising applications in human-machine interfaces due to their excellent flexibility,stretchability and human friendliness,and one of the key points of wearable electronics is to develop str...Wearable electronics have promising applications in human-machine interfaces due to their excellent flexibility,stretchability and human friendliness,and one of the key points of wearable electronics is to develop strain sensors with high sensitivity and working range.Herein,a high-performance Eco-flex@AgNW/graphite/Pt hybrid strain sensor was fabricated by suction filtrating,transferring and surface sputtering sequentially.The suction filtrating of AgNW and graphite dispersions on a wrinkle-shape Nylon filter,transferring of AgNW/graphite layer onto Ecoflex and further surface sputtering by Pt allow the construction of fingerprint bionic Ecoflex@AgNW/graphite/Pt hybrid strain sensor.The resul-tant fingerprint bionic hybrid strain sensor possesses high sensitivity of 2064.1 at the strain of 140%e155%,a wide working range of 0e155%,a short response time(111 ms and 189 ms for tensile and releasing process)and excellent cyclic stability over 5000 cycles.This study provides a universal tech-nique for the preparation of strain sensors with promising applications in the field of next-generation intelligent wearable electronics.展开更多
LaFe_(11.8)Si_(1.2)/10 wt%Ce_(60)Co_(40) composites were prepared by spark plasma sintering and subsequent diffusion annealing.A novel core-shell structure is observed with the LaFe11.8Si1.2 particles as the core and ...LaFe_(11.8)Si_(1.2)/10 wt%Ce_(60)Co_(40) composites were prepared by spark plasma sintering and subsequent diffusion annealing.A novel core-shell structure is observed with the LaFe11.8Si1.2 particles as the core and the(La,Ce)_(2)(Fe,Co,Si)_(17)(2:17)phase as the shell.As diffusion annealing time(t_(a))increases,this core-shell structure is replaced by the formation of the(La,Ce)_(1)(Fe,Co,Si)_(13) phase.Annealing at 1323 K for 12 h results in samples with(-ΔSM)^(max) of 9.30 J/(kg·K)(Δμ0H=2 T),good mechanical properties((σbc)^(max)=402 MPa,ε=4.21%)and thermal conductivity of 8.7 W/(m·K).Thus,bulk composites with excellent comprehensive properties for magnetic refrigeration are obtained in this work.展开更多
Bulk Lao.sPro.sFe11.4Sil.6 compound exhibits a large magnetic-entropy change ASm of 28.1 J/(kg K) for a magnetic-field change from 0 to 1.5 T at the Curie temperature, Tc of 186 K, accompanied by a large magnetic hy...Bulk Lao.sPro.sFe11.4Sil.6 compound exhibits a large magnetic-entropy change ASm of 28.1 J/(kg K) for a magnetic-field change from 0 to 1.5 T at the Curie temperature, Tc of 186 K, accompanied by a large magnetic hysteresis of 56 J/kg and a noticeable thermal hysteresis of about 1 K. If the bulk sample is ground into middle-size particles (30-60 tm), then the thermal hysteresis is almost eliminated and the magnetic hysteresis loss is decreased by 29%, while the large ASm maintains. Especially, fine powder with an average size of 2 tm shows the same Tc as the bulk and does not lose stability. Meanwhile, a comparatively large ASm of 13.9 J/(kg K) and a hysteresis reduction of 70% are attained. The hysteresis reduction can be ascribed to the decrease of internal strains and to the improvement of heat transfer due to the increase of the ratio of the surface area to the volume.展开更多
Silver nanowire(AgNW)has become one of the best candidates for flexible transparent electromagnetic(EMI)shielding materials,while the low corrosion resistance of AgNW hinders its application in environments with high ...Silver nanowire(AgNW)has become one of the best candidates for flexible transparent electromagnetic(EMI)shielding materials,while the low corrosion resistance of AgNW hinders its application in environments with high content of corrosive substances.Herein,an AgNW/poly(3,4-ethylene dioxythiophene)/poly(styrene sulfonate)(PEDOT:PSS)@nickel electrode was prepared through ultrasonic spray coating and electroplating methods.PEDOT:PSS is sprayed to improve the conductivity of the AgNW network,and a 9.8-16.5 nm Ni layer is deposited on the AgNW/PEDOT:PSS to protect the AgNWs from corrosion.The AgNW/PEDOT:PSS@Ni electrode shows a sheet resistance of 29 U·sq^(-1),a transmittance of 78.18%,an average EMI shielding efficiency of 19.64 dB and excellent corrosion resistance in Na2S solution.The resultant AgNW/PEDOT:PSS@Ni electrode is promisingly used in high corrosion resistance transparent EMI shielding film.展开更多
