To avoid being par... How is the weak information competence of Chinese migrant workers expressed? Migrant workers arrive in the cities to bunt for a job, cberishing hopes of leading better life than in the countryside. To avoid being part of a blind rush, they need certain informarion so as to prevent or lessen uncertainty in relation to finding a job. Migrant workers, as a special social group, need information on multiple topics, including economics, politics and law, culture and social interactions. However, for subjective and objective reasons, including the fact that demand exceeds supply in the labor market or their being unable to afford the information, their requirements cannot be even partially fulfilled. It is therefore indeed bard for their information requirements to be reflected authentically and their potential information competence atrophies for lack of participation in real-life activities. As time passes, their information competence is increasingly weakened, and they end up vulnerable in respect of information, as is widely known. 展开更多
