It is known as the syndrome of organ dysfunction caused by infection. Immune response has a critical role in sepsis. High concentrations of pro-inflammatory cytokines such as tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-α) and interleukin (IL)-6 have been suggested to be harmful and one of the major causes of organ injury.[1] Immune paralysis in sepsis causes a secondary infection.展开更多
