Food consumption is one of the key exposure routes of humans to contaminants. This article evaluated the residue levels of 51 pesticides and 16 polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) in selected fish and food items which were commonly consumed in the Nantong area of Jiangsu Province, Southeast China. The 51 pesticides and 16 PCBs were analyzed by highly sensitive gas chromatography- tandem mass spectrometry (GC-MS/MS). The results showed that organochlorine pesticides such as dichlorodiphenyltrichloroethanes (DDTs), hexachlorocyclohexanes (I-ICHs), hexachlorobenzene (HCB) and mirex and other pesticides including chlorpyrifos, pyrethroid pesticides, metolachlor, pyridaben and trifluralin were frequently detected in the samples, which was consistent with the accumulation level and characteristics of these toxic chemicals in human adipose tissue of people living in Nantong. Meanwhile, correlation of the residue level of toxic chemicals with their physical chemical properties and historic use pattern in Nantong area was observed. Combined with dietary survey results at the same sampling locations, human health risk assessment of ingestion through the dietary route was performed. The results suggested that the non-cancer risks of the chemicals investigated can be considered negligible in the Nantong area, however, the cancer risks from lifetime dietary exposure to DDTs and HCB have exceeded the acceptable levels. 展开更多

Compactness and light weight, large exit pupil diameter and distance, small distortion for virtual image, and see-through light paths are pivotal factors to achieve a better, wearable experience of optical see-through headmounted displays(OST-HMDs).In addition, light efficiency of the virtual image light path is an important factor for heat dissipation in HMD devices. This paper presents a new type of OST-HMD optical system that includes three wedge-shaped freeform prisms and two symmetric lenses.Based on a 0.71 in.microdisplay,an OST-HMD prototype with a diagonal field of view(FOV)of 45.3°,an F-number(F/#)of 1.8,an exit pupil size of 12 mm×8 mm,and an eye relief of 18 mm is demonstrated. The maximum value of distortion of the final system is 0.6%and 0.4%for virtual image and see-through light path, respectively. The overall dimension of the optical system per eye is no larger than 30 mm(width)×40 mm(height)×14 mm(thickness),and the weight of the optical module including lenses, holder, and microdisplay is 12.8 g.The light efficiency of the virtual image light path is up to 50%higher than those of other OST-HMD optical solutions. 展开更多

Biomorphic silicon carbide (bioSiC) with macro-channels and alveolate micropores was prepared by spontaneous infiltration of melted silicon into a carbon template derived from lotus root at 1600cC. The carbon template and purified bioSiC samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, camera and mercury intrusion. The results suggest that the bioSiC mainly consists of β-SiC and perfectly replicates the shape and microstructure of the carbon template. The bioSiC has a mean pore diameter of 91.1 μm and a porosity of 50.1%, both similar to those of the carbon template, 92.3 μm and 50.7%, respectively. 展开更多
