An Analysis of Reading Materials in New Senior English for China Based on Cultivation of Cultural Awareness —A Case Study of Compulsory Book 3

China is in the era of rapid development of information technology and the era of close cultural communication between countries, which requires English teaching to cultivate students’ cultural awareness, develop their intercultural communicative competence. Based on Byram’s checklist, this paper analyzes the cultural contents in reading materials of New Senior English for China (NSEFC) Compulsory Book 3. The research indicates that the textbook is rich in cultural content and the selected reading materials are authentic. However, there are two shortcomings: the uneven distribution of themes as well as cultural contents and the lack of cultural content comparison in the textbook. According to the findings, this paper provides some suggestions for textbook editors and English teachers, aiming at realizing the improvement and a better use of the textbook, so as to cultivate students’ cultural awareness. 展开更多

The discrimination of liquors plays a vital role in our daily life as a large amount of cheap alcoholic beverages and low-quality counterfeits greatly damage the health of consumers.Array-based optical sensors have been developed as a fast and effective tool to discriminate multi-analytes or complex mixtures with similar structures,such as acids,esters,aldehydes and ketones.Over the past decades,optical sensor arrays have demonstrated remarkable capabilities in fast and accurate detection of diverse types,qualities,and authentic liquors.The identification strategy mainly focuses on the specific/non-specific interactions of flavor compounds in liquors with sensor elements.The cross-reactive optical signal readouts from the combination of sensor elements with liquors and multiple machine learning algorithms are essential to ensure the discriminatory capability of sensing system.In this review,we discuss the advantages and recent advances in pattern recognition of liquors in terms of the design of various types of sensing materials and the construction strategies of sensor arrays. 展开更多

Targets in layered media can be detected and located using a time reversal(TR)-reversed-time migration(RTM) mixed method.In this study, this single emission-multiple receiving method is tested experimentally by using two types of layered media and three types of targets. The signal reflected at the interface and the signal scattered by the target are measured by each receiver to obtain the travel time for several transmitter-receiver pairs. Thereafter, the amplitude ratio between the two measured signals is compared with the theoretical amplitude. The RTM process involves the convolution of the forward acoustic beam from the source with the backward acoustic beam from the receiver which adds an appropriate delay determined on the measured travel time data. By using this approach, the acoustic field distribution can be obtained, and the position of the target can be determined.Moreover, the measured positions of the target are compared with the actual position to validate the accuracy of this technique. 展开更多

High-performance SOD mimetic enzyme Au@Ce for arresting cell cycle and proliferation of acute myeloid leukemia 被引量:2

SOD-like activity of CeO_(2) nanoparticles(Ce NPs)is driven by Ce^(3+)/Ce^(4+),high oxidative stress can oxidize Ce^(3+) to reduce the ratio of Ce^(3+)/Ce^(4+),inactivating the SOD activity of Ce NPs.Herein,we found Au@Ce NPs,assembled by Au NPs and Ce NPs,exhibited high-performance of SOD mimetic enzyme activity even upon the oxidation of H_(2)O_(2).Ce NPs supported by nano-Au can acquire the electrons from Au NPs through the enhanced localized surface plasmon resonance(LSPR),maintaining the stability of Ce^(3+)/Ce^(4+) and SOD-like activity.Meanwhile,Au@Ce NPs retained the peroxidase function and catalase function.As a result,Au@Ce NPs effectively scavenged O_(2·-) and the derived ROS in AML cells,which are the important signaling source that drives AML cell proliferation and accelerates cell cycle progression.When HL-60 cells were treated by Au@Ce NPs,the removal of endogenous ROS signal significantly arrested cell cycle at G1 phase and suppressed the cell proliferation by blocking the mitogen-activated protein kinases(MAPKs)signaling and the Akt/Cyclin D1 cell cycle signaling.Importantly,this treatment strategy showed therapeutic effect for subcutaneous transplantation of AML model as well as a satisfactory result in diminishing the leukocyte infiltration of liver and spleen particularly.Thus,assembled Au@Ce NPs show the high-performance SOD-like activity,promising the potential in treating AML and regulating abnormal ROS in other diseases safely and efficiently. 展开更多
