Cloud computing describes highly scalable computing resources provided as an external service via the internet. Economically, the main feature of cloud computing is that customers only use what they need, and only pay for what they actually use. Resources are available to be accessed from the cloud at any time, and from any location via the internet. There’s no need to worry about how things are being maintained behind the scenes—you simply purchase the IT service you require. This new, web-based generation of computing utilizes remote servers for data storage and management. One of the challenging issues tackled in the cloud computing is the security of data stored in the service providers’ site. In this paper, we propose a new architecture for secure data storage in such a way that users’ data are encrypted and split into various cipher blocks and distributed among different service providers site rather than solely depend on single provider for data storage. This architecture ensures better reliability, availability, scalability and security. 展开更多

The research literature provides strong evidence that characteristics of buildings and their indoor environments influence the prevalence of several adverse health effects. Kuwait is considered one of the countries with harshest weather conditions. It is estimated that Kuwaitis spend most of their times indoors. Indoor environments quality should be taken seriously since indoor allergens and irritants can play a significant role in determining the health of households. In this research we propose to profile synergistic interaction between morbidity differentials and air quality in Kuwait residential area. The objective of this project is to investigate the relation between indoors air quality and asthma symptoms. Data mining techniques are employed to discover the correlation between indoor air quality measures and asthma symptoms and trigger. The main trigger considered in this research is the concentration of nitrogen dioxide. Some other triggers investigated are dust mites, smoking and others. 展开更多

We present a new mode... In this paper, we present an extension of the classical Resource Constrained Project Scheduling Problem (RCPSP). We present a new type of resource constraints in which staff members are involved. We present a new model where staff members can have several skills with different proficiency, i.e., a staff member is able to perform more than one kind of activity as well as the time need is complete the task assign depends on the staff individual skill. We call this model the Weighted-Multi-Skill Project Scheduling Problem (WMSPSP). In our model, an activity has specific skill requirements that must be satisfied. To solve this problem, we propose a lower bound that uses a linear programming scheme for the RCPSP. 展开更多
