Avantex is an ambitious trade fair concept that aims to demon- strate potential opportunities in the textile industry. Based on the Avantex and associated international forum for hi-tech apparel textiles and fashion engineering held in November of 2000 in Frankfurt am Main, the author gives a vivid description of diver- sified revolutionary products from future textile industry:high- tech apparel textiles, micro-system technology, intelligent gar- ments, functional garments, automated 3-D sewing system, etc.
