Discussion on reprogramming of tumor energy metabolism and intervention of traditional Chinese medicine based on the theory of“collateral Q i stagnation”

The theory of stagnation of collateral Qi(Chinese medicine refers to the most fundamental and subtle substances thatconstitute the human body and maintain life activities,and also has the meaning of physiological functions)originates from the theory of collateral disease,which refers to the deficiency of Qi in the body’s collaterals,the loss of Qi and blood,and the failure of stagnation of collateral Qi,which leads to the loss of Qi,blood and body fluid,and the formation of pathological products such as deficiency,depression,phlegm,blood stasis in the local area,and ultimately damage the pathological process of collaterals.Based on the in-depth study of the pathogenesis of collateral Qi stagnation and the previous study of meridian channels,we believe that the key pathogenesis of the formation,evolution and spread of malignant tumors is“collateral Qi deficiency stagnation,collateral Qi stagnation and collateral Qi decay”.As an important energy resonance channel of the body,meridians play a key role in the process of material transformation and energy metabolism.It is believed that the small focus caused by the pathogenesis of stagnation is the cause of malignant transformation of tumor,the reprogramming of energy metabolism induced by the lesion of collateral Qi is the basis of the progress of tumor pathogenesis,and the formation of tumor microenvironment regulated by the tumor toxin vena is the root of alienation of tumor development.Guided by this theory,focusing on the correlation between collateral Qi and tumor energy metabolism,using Professor Hua Baojin's treatment method of“Regulating Qi and detoxifying”to prescribe drugs can adjust collateral Qi function,achieve the relative balance of internal environment,and then inhibit the progress of tumor.Based on the above understanding,this study tries to enlighten new diagnosis and treatment ideas under the guidance of“stagnation of collateral Qi”in traditional Chinese medicine,in order to provide some theoretical support for the intervention of traditional Chinese medicine in the process of tumor development. 展开更多

Metabolic syndrome(MetS)is an individual accumulation of multiple abnormal metabolic indicators,with insulin resistance and central obesity at its core.Adipose tissue is the core component of MetS,and adipokines secreted by various adipocytes play a crucial role in its regulatory mechanism.In this paper,we searched the literature from 2020 to 2022 on Pubmed and Knowledgeweb using the keywords of“metabolic syndrome,”“adipose tissue”and“adipokines”.We mainly explored the mechanisms of leptin,lipocalin,resistin,brown adipose tissue and beige adipose tissue secreted by white adipose tissue in regulating insulin resistance,inhibiting inflammatory response and neurohormonal regulation of lipid and glucose metabolism.In this paper,under various studies on lipids for MetS,the metabolic mechanisms of various adipose tissues,adipocytes,and adipokines were investigated systematically and retrospectively.It was found that the regulation of adipokines and,thus,treatment of MetS by drugs is less and needs further exploration. 展开更多

AIM: To study whether severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus (SARS-CoV) could be excreted from digestive system.METHODS: Cell culture and semi-nested RT-PCR were used to detect SARS-CoV and its RNA from 21 stool and urine samples, and a kind of electropositive filter media particles was used to concentrate the virus in 10 sewage samples from two hospitals receiving SAILS patients in Beijing in China. RESULTS: It was demonstrated that there was no live SARS-CoV in all samples collected, but the RNA of SARS-CoV could be detected in seven stool samples from SARS patients with any one of the symptoms of fever, malaise, cough, or dyspnea, in 10 sewage samples before disinfection and 3 samples after disinfection from the two hospitals. The RNA could not be detected in urine and stool samples from patients recovered from SARS.CONCLUSION: Nucleic acid of SARS-CoV can be excreted through the stool of patients into sewage system, and the possibility of SARS-CoV transmitting through digestive system cannot be excluded. 展开更多

Theory and mechanism analysis of Wuji Pill in Anti-lung Cancer:A study based on network pharmacology and molecular docking technology

Background:To explore the effective components and mechanism of Classic ancient prescription Wuji pill on lung cancer(LC)with the help of network pharmacology and molecular docking technology.Methods:TCMSP database,Chinese Pharmacopoeia(2020 Edition)and related literature were searched to identify the main chemical composition and targets of constituent drugs in Wuji pill,including Houpo(Magnoliae Officinalis Cortex),Huangqin(Scutellariae Radix),Badou(Crotonis Fructus),Huanglian(Coptidis Rhizoma)and Renshen(Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma).Meanwhile,Genecards,OMIM,TTD,Drugbank and PharmGkb databases were used to obtain the main targets of LC.The"chemical compound-target"network was constructed by using Cytoscape 3.8.2 software with the disease drug intersection gene as the research target.The PPI network was constructed by using the string database for protein interaction analysis,and the core target genes were sorted out.The Gene ontology go function enrichment analysis and KEGG signal pathway enrichment analysis were carried out based on the ClusterProfiler of R software.Finally,the Autodock Vina software was used to conduct molecular docking between the core target with high value and the key components.Results:A total of 60 active components,190 corresponding targets and 2516 GO and 163 KEGG pathways of Wuji pill were screened out,including 179 potential targets of LC.The core targets were ESR1,CDKN1A,TP53,NR3C1,MAPK1,AKT1,MAPK8,JUN,RELA,the core components were quercetin,kaempferol,β-sitosterol,stigmasterol,tetrahedron,protoopioid,etc,and the core pathways were PI3K-Akt,MAPK,IL-17,etc.Conclusion:This study preliminarily revealed the mechanism of action of Wuji pill on multi component-multi target-multi pathway of LC,which provided reference for the further clinical development and research of Wuji pill. 展开更多

Objective:From the perspective of tumor amino acid metabolism imbalance,the application of fuzheng detoxification method in intervening in the transformation of colitis cancer was discussed.Methods:By consulting CNKI's concept of tumor microenvironment,energy metabolism,amino acid metabolism,and colitis cancer transformation,it provides theoretical and data support for research purposes.Results:The study found that the transformation of colitis cancer refers to the metabolic imbalance of the tumor microenvironment under the condition of repeated stimulation of chronic inflammatory responses of colon tissue,which is mainly related to energy metabolism,sugar metabolism,fat metabolism,and amino acid metabolism imbalance,which promotes the transformation of the inflammatory microenvironment to the tumor microenvironment.Amino acids as an important source of nutrients for cells,its metabolic imbalance is an important cause of inflammation and cancer transformation.Conclusion:Chinese medicine believes that the transformation of inflammation and cancer is mainly related to the incurable treatment of evil in the internal organs,the loss of Qi,and the poison damage to the blood network.Colon cancer disease mechanism is always positive deficiency and stasis,the pathogenesis is based on the virtual standard,the virtual and real are mixed,and the clinical use of correct detoxification to adjust the balance of the body. 展开更多

Mermithid nematodes,such as Ovomermis sinensis,are used as biological control agents against many insect pests,including cotton bollworm(Helicoverpa armigera).However,given the host's robust immune system,the infection rate of O.sinensis is low,thus restricting its widespread use.To understand the host defense mechanisms against mermithid nematodes,we identified and characterized a protein involved in the recognition of O.sinensis,the potential O.sinensis-binding protein C-type lectin 1(HaCTLla and/or HaCTLIb),which was eluted from the surface of O.sinensis after incubation with H.armigera plasma.HaCTLIb is homologous to the previously reported HaCTLla protein.HaCTLI was predominantly expressed in hemocytes and was induced by the steroid hormone 20-hydroxyecdysone through ecdysone receptor(HaEcR)or ultraspiracle(HaUSP),or both.Binding assays confirmed the interactions of the HaCTLI proteins with O.sinensis but not with Romanomermis wuchangensis,a parasitic nematode of mosquito.Moreover,the HaCTL1 proteins were secreted into the hemocoel and promoted hemocyte-mediated encapsulation and phagocytosis.A knockdown of HaEcR and/or HaUSP resulted in compromised encapsulation and phagocytosis.Thus,HaCTLI appears to modulate cellular immunity in the defense against parasitic nematodes,and the 20-hydroxyecdysone-HaEcR-HaUSP complex is involved in regulating the process. 展开更多

In this study, a two-hop wireless sensor network with multiple relay nodes is considered where the amplify-and-forward(AF) scheme is employed. Two algorithms are presented to jointly consider interference suppression and power allocation(PA) based on the minimization of the symbol error rate(SER) criterion. A stochastic gradient(SG) algorithm is developed on the basis of the minimum-SER(MSER) criterion to jointly update the parameter vectors that allocate the power levels among the relay sensors subject to a total power constraint and the linear receiver. In addition, a conjugate gradient(CG) algorithm is developed on the basis of the SER criterion. A centralized algorithm is designed at the fusion center. Destination nodes transmit the quantized information of the PA vector to the relay nodes through a limited-feedback channel. The complexity and convergence analysis of the proposed algorithms are carried out. Simulation results show that the proposed two adaptive algorithms significantly outperform the other previously reported algorithms. 展开更多
