Objective:The morphology analysis of whole-mount mouse embryos was observed using an improved paraffin section technique.Methods:Mouse embryos of varying embryonic ages were collected and whole-mount embryo paraffin sections were prepared using PFA-intravenously injected fixation,prolonged dehydration,and paraffin embedding.Hematoxylin and eosin(H&E)staining and immunohistochemical staining were employed to evaluate the quality of sections,with different tissues being observed labeled by CD34.Results:Following a series of tissue processing and staining procedures,the structure of the whole-mount mouse embryo was well-preserved,and the staining was clear and easily distinguishable.Embryos of different embryonic ages were treated differently,yet the quality of tissue processing remained highly consistent.Conclusion:Tissue processing and staining have been significantly improved,allowing for the easy acquisition of whole-mount mouse embryos of different ages through simplified methods of tissue fixation and dehydration duration.The staining results are clear and stable,providing technical support for the study of mouse embryo development. 展开更多

Nutcracker phenomenon (NCP) is caused by a compression of left renal vein between aorta and superior mesenteric artery. The traditional clinical manifestations of nutcracker syndrome is usually accompanied with abdominal pain, hematuria, orthostatic proteinuria, and varicocele formation, however, hypertension is rarely reported as main clinical feature. We describe a male adolescent with manifestation of hypertension who was identified as NCP. Renal ultrasound and computed tomography angiography have provided evidences of left renal vein dilatation, probably due to the compression through the decreased angle between aorta and superior mesenteric artery. There were no other signs for secondary hypertension for the blood levels of renin and aldosterone being between normal limits and urinalysis being negative of hematuria and proteinuria. This patient was conservatively observed without any anti-hypertensive drugs and was asked for appropriately putting on weight. Three months later, the hypertension symptom was alleviated. In conclusion, although there were no established direct pathogenetic links between hypertension and NCP, no other definite etiology was shown to be the cause of this main manifestation. Thus we speculate that the NCP might be the main cause of hypertension in this patient. 展开更多

Cellular vehicle-to-everything(C-V2X) communications is regarded as a promising and feasible solution for 5G-enabled vehicular communications and networking. In this paper, we investigate the pilot design and channel estimation problem in MIMO-OFDM-based C-V2X systems with severe co-channel interference due to spectrum reusing among different V2X communication links. By using zero-correlation zone(ZCZ) sequences, we provide an interference-free pilot design scheme and a corresponding time-domain(TD) correlation-based channel estimation(TD-CCE) method. We employ the ZCZ sequences from the same family set to be designed as the TD pilot symbols and guarantee the pilot sequeneces for neighboring V2X communication links are code-division multiplexing(CDM). The co-channel pilot interference of the deisgned pilot symbols can be effectively eliminated by exploiting the provided TD-CCE method. Simulation results indicate that the accuracy of channel estimation can be effectively improved by the proposed scheme, whose performance is close to that of the non-interference situation. 展开更多

Polygenic risk score for prediction of radiotherapy efficacy and radiosensitivity in patients with non-metastatic breast cancer

Objective:To construct a novel polygenic risk scoring model,in order to predict the benefits of radiosensitivity in patients with non-metastatic breast cancer(NMBC).Methods:A total of 450 NMBC patients from The Cancer Genome Atlas(TCGA)were enrolled and randomly assigned 6:4(training vs.validation).The empirical Bayes differential analysis was used to perform differential expression analysis,univariate Cox regression and Kaplan-Meier analysis were used to screen for prognosisrelated genes.Finally,LASSO regression and stepwise regression were used to select key prognostic-related genes.We constructed a multivariate Cox proportional risk regression model using key genes.The pRRophetic function was used to predict drug sensitivity of radiosensitivity(RS)and radioresistance(RR)groups for adjuvant therapy.Results:Eight genes(AMH,H2BU1,HOXB13,TMEM132A,TMEM270,ODF3L1,RIIAD1 and RIMBP2)were screened to build a polygenic risk scoring model.The region of characteristic(ROC)curves were drawn based on the 3-,5-and 10-year overall survival(OS),with area under curves(AUCs)of 0.816,0.822 and 0.806,respectively.RS and RR can be effectively distinguished according to the risk score of 2.004.Gene set enrichment analysis(GSEA)showed that necroptosis was significantly enriched in RS,while complement and coagulation cascade,JAK-STAT and PPAR signaling pathways were significantly enriched in RR.Alternatively,for those radioresistant patients,the chemotherapy drugs that might be more helpful are Cisplatin,Docetaxel,Methotrexate and Vinblastine with higher drug sensitivity.Conclusion:The polygenic risk scoring model showed prediction for the benefit of radiotherapy in NMBC patients,which might be used to guide clinical practice. 展开更多

Stimulated by the study of sufficient matrices in linear complementarity problems, we study column sufficient tensors and tensor complementarity problems. Column sufficient tensors constitute a wide range of tensors that include positive semi-definite tensors as special cases. The inheritance property and invariant property of column sufficient tensors are presented. Then, various spectral properties of symmetric column sufficient tensors are given. It is proved that all H-eigenvalues of an even-order symmetric column sufficient tensor are nonnegative, and all its Z-eigenvalues are nonnegative even in the odd order case. After that, a new subclass of column sufficient tensors and the handicap of tensors are defined. We prove that a tensor belongs to the subclass if and only if its handicap is a finite number. Moreover, several optimization models that are equivalent with the handicap of tensors are presented. Finally, as an application of column sufficient tensors, several results on tensor complementarity problems are established. 展开更多

Finding the minimal H-eigenvalue of tensors is an important topic in tensor computation and numerical multilinear algebra. This paper is devoted to a sum-of-squares (SOS) algorithm for computing the minimal H-eigenvalues of tensors with some sign structures called extended essentially nonnegative tensors (EEN-tensors), which includes nonnegative tensors as a subclass. In the even-order symmetric case, we first discuss the positive semi-definiteness of EEN-tensors, and show that a positive semi-definite EEN-tensor is a non- negative tensor or an M-tensor or the sum of a nonnegative tensor and an M-tensor, then we establish a checkable sufficient condition for the SOS decomposition of EEN-tensors. Finally, we present an efficient algorithm to compute the minimal H-eigenvalues of even-order symmetric EEN-tensors based on the SOS decomposition. Numerical experiments are given to show the efficiency of the proposed algorithm. 展开更多

Tensor decomposition is an important research area with numerous applications in data mining and computational neuroscience.An important class of tensor decomposition is sum-of-squares(SOS)tensor decomposition.SOS tensor decomposition has a close connection with SOS polynomials,and SOS polynomials are very important in polynomial theory and polynomial optimization.In this paper,we give a detailed survey on recent advances of high-order SOS tensors and their applications.It first shows that several classes of symmetric structured tensors available in the literature have SOS decomposition in the even order symmetric case.Then,the SOS-rank for tensors with SOS decomposition and the SOS-width for SOS tensor cones are established.Further,a sharper explicit upper bound of the SOS-rank for tensors with bounded exponent is provided,and the exact SOS-width for the cone consists of all such tensors with SOS decomposition is identified.Some potential research directions in the future are also listed in this paper. 展开更多

A fiber-optic temperature sensor based on fiber tip polystyrene microsphere is proposed.The sensor structure can be formed simply by placing and fixing a polystyrene microsphere on the center of an optical fiber tip.Since polystyrene has a much larger thermal expansivity,the structure can be used for high-sensitive temperature measurement.By the illuminating of the sensor with a broadband light source and through the optical Fabry-Perot interference between the front and back surfaces of the polystyrene microsphere,the optical phase difference(OPD)or wavelength shift can be used for the extraction of temperature.Temperature measurement experiment shows that,using a fiber probe polystyrene microsphere temperature sensor with a spherical diameter of about 91.7 pm,a high OPD-temperature sensitivity of about-0.61796nm/℃and a good linearity of 0.9916 were achieved in a temperature range of 20℃-70℃. 展开更多

Spectral properties of odd-bipartite Z-tensors and their absolute tensors

Stimulated by odd-bipartite and even-bipartite hypergraphs, we define odd-bipartite (weakly odd-bipartie) and even-bipartite (weakly even- bipartite) tensors. It is verified that all even order odd-bipartite tensors are irreducible tensors, while all even-bipartite tensors are reducible no matter the parity of the order. Based on properties of odd-bipartite tensors, we study the relationship between the largest H-eigenvalue of a Z-tensor with nonnegative diagonal elements, and the largest H-eigenvalue of absolute tensor of that Z- tensor. When the order is even and the Z-tensor is weakly irreducible, we prove that the largest H-eigenvalue of the Z-tensor and the largest H-eigenvalue of the absolute tensor of that Z-tensor are equal, if and only if the Z-tensor is weakly odd-bipartite. Examples show the authenticity of the conclusions. Then, we prove that a symmetric Z-tensor with nonnegative diagonal entries and the absolute tensor of the Z-tensor are diagonal similar, if and only if the Z-tensor has even order and it is weakly odd-bipartite. After that, it is proved that, when an even order symmetric Z-tensor with nonnegative diagonal entries is weakly irreducible, the equality of the spectrum of the Z-tensor and the spectrum of absolute tensor of that Z-tensor, can be characterized by the equality of their spectral radii. 展开更多
