High-speed rail(HSR) has formed a networked operational scale in China. Any internal or external disturbance may deviate trains’ operation from the planned schedules, resulting in primary delays or even cascading delays on a network scale. Studying the delay propagation mechanism could help to improve the timetable resilience in the planning stage and realize cooperative rescheduling for dispatchers. To quickly and effectively predict the spatial-temporal range of cascading delays, this paper proposes a max-plus algebra based delay propagation model considering trains’ operation strategy and the systems’ constraints. A double-layer network based breadth-first search algorithm based on the constraint network and the timetable network is further proposed to solve the delay propagation process for different kinds of emergencies. The proposed model could deal with the delay propagation problem when emergencies occur in sections or stations and is suitable for static emergencies and dynamic emergencies. Case studies show that the proposed algorithm can significantly improve the computational efficiency of the large-scale HSR network. Moreover, the real operational data of China HSR is adopted to verify the proposed model, and the results show that the cascading delays can be timely and accurately inferred, and the delay propagation characteristics under three kinds of emergencies are unfolded. 展开更多

Evacuation leaders and/or equipment provide route and exit information for people and guide them to the expected destinations, which could make crowd evacuation more efficient in case of emergency. The purpose of this paper is to provide an overview of recent advances in guided crowd evacuation. Different guided crowd evacuation approaches are classified according to guidance approaches and technologies. A comprehensive analysis and comparison of crowd evacuation with static signage, dynamic signage, trained leader, mobile devices, mobile robot and wireless sensor networks are presented based on a single guidance mode perspective. In addition, the different evacuation guidance systems that use high-tech means such as advanced intelligent monitoring techniques, AI techniques, computer technology and intelligent inducing algorithms are reviewed from a system’s perspective. Future researches in the area of crowd evacuation are also discussed. 展开更多

This paper addresses the control design for automatic train operation of high-speed trains with protection constraints.A new resilient nonlinear gain-based feedback control approach is proposed, which is capable of guaranteeing, under some proper non-restrictive initial conditions, the protection constraints control raised by the distance-to-go(moving authority)curve and automatic train protection in practice.A new hyperbolic tangent function-based model is presented to mimic the whole operation process of high-speed trains. The proposed feedback control methods are easily implementable and computationally inexpensive because the presence of only two feedback gains guarantee satisfactory tracking performance and closed-loop stability,no adaptations of unknown parameters, function approximation of unknown nonlinearities, and attenuation of external disturbances in the proposed control strategies. Finally, rigorous proofs and comparative simulation results are given to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed approaches. 展开更多

This paper addresses the challenge of accurately and timely determining the position of a train, with specific consideration given to the integration of the global navigation satellite system(GNSS)and inertial navigation system(INS).To overcome the increasing errors in the INS during interruptions in GNSS signals,as well as the uncertainty associated with process and measurement noise,a deep learning-based method for train positioning is proposed. This method combines convolutional neural networks(CNN),long short-term memory(LSTM),and the invariant extended Kalman filter(IEKF)to enhance the perception of train positions. It effectively handles GNSS signal interruptions and mitigates the impact of noise.Experimental evaluation and comparisons with existing approaches are provided to illustrate the effectiveness and robustness of the proposed method. 展开更多

In this paper a comprehensive introduction for modeling and control of networked evolutionary games (NEGs) via semi-tensor product (STP) approach is presented. First, we review the mathematical model of an NEG, which consists of three ingredients: network graph, fundamental network game, and strategy updating rule. Three kinds of network graphs are considered, which are i) undirected graph for symmetric games; ii) directed graph for asymmetric games, and iii) d-directed graph for symmetric games with partial neighborhood information. Three kinds of fundamental evolutionary games (FEGs) are discussed, which are i) two strategies and symmetric (S-2); ii) two strategies and asymmetric (A-2); and iii) three strategies and symmetric (S-3). Three strategy updating rules (SUR) are introduced, which are i) Unconditional Imitation (UI); ii) Fermi Rule(FR); iii) Myopic Best Response Adjustment Rule (MBRA). First, we review the fundamental evolutionary equation (FEE) and use it to construct network profile dynamics (NPD)of NEGs. To show how the dynamics of an NEG can be modeled as a discrete time dynamics within an algebraic state space, the fundamental evolutionary equation (FEE) of each player is discussed. Using FEEs, the network strategy profile dynamics (NSPD) is built by providing efficient algorithms. Finally, we consider three more complicated NEGs: i) NEG with different length historical information, ii) NEG with multi-species, and iii) NEG with time-varying payoffs. In all the cases, formulas are provided to construct the corresponding NSPDs. Using these NSPDs, certain properties are explored. Examples are presented to demonstrate the model constructing method, analysis and control design technique, and to reveal certain dynamic behaviors of NEGs. 展开更多

This paper proposes a modified Couzin and velocity-adaptive Couzin flocking model based on fuzzy rules. In the models, agents update their positions through a fuzzy-rule-based decision-making scheme in three perception zones. Stability of the systems are guaranteed. Simulations demonstrate that the convergence probability and relative converging size are both improved. 展开更多
