Osteoporosis(OP)is a prevalent metabolic bone disease.While drug therapy is essential to prevent bone loss in osteoporotic patients,current treatments are limited by side effects and high costs,necessitating the development of more effective and safer targeted therapies.Utilizing a zebrafish(Danio rerio)larval model of osteoporosis,we explored the influence of the metabolite spermine on bone homeostasis.Results showed that spermine exhibited dual activity in osteoporotic zebrafish larvae by increasing bone formation and decreasing bone resorption.Spermine not only demonstrated excellent biosafety but also mitigated prednisolone-induced embryonic neurotoxicity and cardiotoxicity.Notably,spermine showcased protective attributes in the nervous systems of both zebrafish embryos and larvae.At the molecular level,Rac1 was identified as playing a pivotal role in mediating the antiosteoporotic effects of spermine,with P53 potentially acting downstream of Rac1.These findings were confirmed using mouse(Mus musculus)models,in which spermine not only ameliorated osteoporosis but also promoted bone formation and mineralization under healthy conditions,suggesting strong potential as a bonestrengthening agent.This study underscores the beneficial role of spermine in osteoporotic bone homeostasis and skeletal system development,highlighting pivotal molecular mediators.Given their efficacy and safety,human endogenous metabolites like spermine are promising candidates for new anti-osteoporotic drug development and daily bone-fortifying agents. 展开更多

Achieving High Strength and Tensile Ductility in Pure Nickel by Cryorolling with Subsequent Low-Temperature Short-Time Annealing

Ultra fine-grained pure metals and their alloys have high strength and low ductility.In this study,cryorolling under different strains followed by low-temperature short-time annealing was used to fabricate pure nickel sheets combining high strength with good ductility.The results show that,for different cryorolling strains,the uniform elongation was greatly increased without sacrificing the strength after annealing.A yield strength of 607 MPa and a uniform elongation of 11.7%were obtained after annealing at a small cryorolling strain(ε=0.22),while annealing at a large cryorolling strain(ε=1.6)resulted in a yield strength of 990 MPa and a uniform elongation of 6.4%.X-ray diffraction(XRD),transmission electron microscopy(TEM),scanning electron microscopy(SEM),and electron backscattered diffraction(EBSD)were used to characterize the microstructure of the specimens and showed that the high strength could be attributed to strain hardening during cryorolling,with an additional contribution from grain refinement and the formation of dislocation walls.The high ductility could be attributed to annealing twins and micro-shear bands during stretching,which improved the strain hardening capacity.The results show that the synergistic effect of strength and ductility can be regulated through low-temperature short-time annealing with different cryorolling strains,which provides a new reference for the design of future thermo-mechanical processes. 展开更多

Two-dimensional Ruddlesden-Popper(2DRP)perovskites have attracted intense research interest for optoelectronic applications,due to their tunable optoelectronic properties and better environmental stability than their threedimensional counterparts.Furthermore,high-performance photodetectors based on single-crystal and polycrystalline thin-films 2DRP perovskites have shown great potential for practical application.However,the complex growth process of single-crystal membranes and uncontrollable phase distribution of polycrystalline films hinder the further development of 2DRP perovskites photodetectors.Herein,we report a series of high-performance photodetectors based on single-crystal-like phase-pure 2DRP perovskite films by designing a novel spacer source.Experimental and theoretical evidence demonstrates that phase-pure films substantially suppress defect states and ion migration.These highly sensitive photodetectors show I_(light)/I_(dark) ratio exceeding 3×10^(4),responsivities exceeding 16 A/W,and detectivities exceeding 3×10^(13) Jones,which are higher at least by 1 order than those of traditional mixed-phase thinfilms 2DRP devices(close to the reported single-crystal devices).More importantly,this strategy can significantly enhance the operational stability of optoelectronic devices and pave the way to large-area flexible productions. 展开更多

Perovskite solar cells(PSCs)have been demonstrated to be one of the most promising technologies in the field of renewable energy.However,the presence of the defects in the perovskite films greatly limits the efficiency and the stability of the PSCs.The additive engineering is one of the most effective approaches to overcome this problem.Most of the successful additives are extracted from the petroleum-based materials,while the research on the biomass-based additives is still lagging behind.In this paper,two ecofriendly hydroxyalkyl cellulose additives,i.e.,hydroxyethyl cellulose(HEC)and hydroxylpropyl cellulose(HPC),are investigated on the performance of the MAPbl_(3)-based inverted PSCs.Due to the strong interaction between the hydroxyl groups of the cellulose and the divalent cations of the perovskite,these additives enhance the crystal grain orientation and significantly repair the defects of the perovskite films.Working as the additives,these two cellulose derivatives show a strong passivation ability,which significantly reduces the trap density and improves the optoelectronic feature of the PSCs.Compared with the average power conversion efficiency(PCE)of the control device(19.19%),an enhancement of~10%is achieved after the addition of HEC.The optimized device(PCE=21.25%)with a long-term stability(10:80 h,PCE=20.93%)is achieved by the incorporation of the HEC additives into the precursor solution.It is the best performance among the PSCs with the cellulose additives up to now.This research provides a novel choice to develop a cost-effective and renewable additive for the PSCs with high efficiency and excellent long-term stability. 展开更多

Monocyclic nitrogen-rich 3-(aminomethyl)-4,5-diamine-1,2,4-triazole(1)and fused cyclic 3,7-diamine-6-(aminomethyl)-[1,2,4]triazolo[4,3-b][1,2,4]triazole(9)were synthesized through the convenient cyclization reaction from the readily available reactant.Their energetic salts with high nitrogen content were proved to be rare examples of divalent monocyclic/fused cyclic cationic salts according to the single crystal analyses.The structure of intermediate B was also identified and verified by its trivalent cation crystal 17.5H_2O indirectly.Energetic compounds 2-8 and 10-17 were fully characterized by NMR spectroscopy,infrared spectroscopy,differential scanning calorimetry,elemental analysis.These energetic salts exhibit good thermal stability with decomposition temperatures ranged from 182℃to 245℃.The sensitivity of compounds 2,6,10 and 14 is similar or superior to that of RDX while the others were much more insensitive to mechanical stimulate.Furthermore,detonation velocity of 10(8843 m/s)surpass that of RDX(D=8795 m/s).Considering the high gas production volume(≥808 L/kg)of 2,4,10and 12,constant-volume combustion experiments were conduct to evaluate their gas production capacities specifically.These compounds possess much higher maximum gas-production pressures(P_(max):7.88-10.08 MPa)than the commonly used reagent guanidine nitrate(GN:P_(max)=4.20 MPa),which indicate their strong gas production capacity. 展开更多

In recent years,the introduction of fused rings own high density and low sensitivity has promoted the development of energetic materials.However,the development of energetic compounds containing fused and bridged rings by introducing multiple nitrogen heterocycles at different sites of fused rings is still difficult to progress,which seriously limits the emergence of advanced energetic compounds.In this study,a series of energetic materials choosing different nitrogen rich heterocycles at the vacancies of the fused ring,i.e.,neutral compound 5,6 and their ionic derivatives(compounds 7-12)were designed and synthesized.Compounds 5 and 6 were further confirmed by single crystal X-ray diffraction,while the crystal analysis and theoretical calculations were carried out to explore the relationship between crystal structure and physicochemical properties.All of the newly synthesized compounds(5-12)are insensitive to mechanical stimulation(IS>40 J;FS≥342 N)and they own the high detonation velocity(D:8322-9075 m/s).Notably,hydrazine salt 11 own the higher detonation velocity(9075 m/s)and powder density(1.83 g/cm^(3)),but exhibits lower sensitivity(IS>40 J)than the classical energetic compound RDX(8795 m/s,1.80 g/cm^(3),7.5 J).It is obvious that the combination of 5,6-fused triazolo-triazine and nitropyrazole-tetrazole may be a new energetic skeleton for synthesising the heterocyclic compounds with balanced energy-stability. 展开更多

P&T-Inf: A Result Inference Method for Context-Sensitive Tasks in Crowdsourcing

Context-Sensitive Task(CST)is a complex task type in crowdsourc-ing,such as handwriting recognition,route plan,and audio transcription.The current result inference algorithms can perform well in simple crowd-sourcing tasks,but cannot obtain high-quality inference results for CSTs.The conventional method to solve CSTs is to divide a CST into multiple independent simple subtasks for crowdsourcing,but this method ignores the context correlation among subtasks and reduces the quality of result inference.To solve this problem,we propose a result inference algorithm based on the Partially ordered set and Tree augmented naive Bayes Infer(P&T-Inf)for CSTs.Firstly,we screen the candidate results of context-sensitive tasks based on the partially ordered set.If there are parallel candidate sets,the conditional mutual information among subtasks containing context infor-mation in external knowledge(such as Google n-gram corpus,American Contemporary English corpus,etc.)will be calculated.Combined with the tree augmented naive(TAN)Bayes model,the maximum weighted spanning tree is used to model the dependencies among subtasks in each CST.We collect two crowdsourcing datasets of handwriting recognition tasks and audio transcription tasks from the real crowdsourcing platform.The experimental results show that our approach improves the quality of result inference in CSTs and reduces the time cost compared with the latest methods. 展开更多

The restoration of bone defects caused by osteoporosis remains a challenge for surgeons.Strontium ranelate has been applied in preventative treatment approaches due to the biological functions of the trace element strontium(Sr).In this study,we aimed to fabricate bioactive scaffolds through Sr incorporation based on our previously developed modified amino-functional mesoporous bioactive glass(MBG)and to systematically investigate the bioactivity of the resulting scaffold in vitro and in vivo in an osteoporotic rat model.The results suggested that Sr-incorporated amino-functional MBG scaffolds possessed favorable biocompatibility.Moreover,with the incorporation of Sr,osteogenic and angiogenic capacities were upregulated in vitro.The in vivo results showed that the Sr-incorporated amino-functional MBG scaffolds achieved better bone regeneration and vessel formation.Furthermore,bioinformatics analysis indicated that the Sr-incorporated amino-functional MBG scaffolds could reduce reactive oxygen species levels in bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells in the osteoporotic model by activating the cAMP/PKA signaling pathway,thus playing an anti-osteoporosis role while promoting osteogenesis.This study demonstrated the feasibility of incorporating trace elements into scaffolds and provided new insights into biomaterial design for facilitating bone regeneration in the treatment of osteoporosis. 展开更多

We reviewed progress in this field over the past 30 years. While earlier studies mostly focused on network structure, stability, and biodiversity maintenance, recent studies have investigated the conservation implications of mutualistic networks, specifically the influence of invasive species and how networks respond to habitat loss. Current research has also focused on evolutionary questions including phylogenetic signal in networks, impact of networks on the coevolution of interacting partners, and network influences on the evolution of interacting species. We outline some directions for future research, particularly the evolution of specialization in mutualistic networks, and provide concrete recommendations for environmental managers. 展开更多

Organic–inorganic perovskites solar cells(PSCs)have attracted great attention due to their rapid progress in power conversion efficiency(PCE).However,there is still an enormous challenge to achieve both high efficiency and stability devices as the decomposition of perovskite materials under humid and light conditions.Herein,we demonstrate that high efficiency and stability of PSCs can be obtained by the reaction of three-dimensional(3D)perovskite with 1,4-butanediamine iodide(BEAI2)vapor.The incorporation of BEAI2 intensively promotes the crystallization of perovskite film with large grain size(~500 nm).Further characterization reveals that the post-treatment perovskite film delivered low interface trap density with long carrier lifetime(>200 ns),long carrier diffusion length(>600 nm)and large carrier mobility(>1.5 cm^2 V-1S-1).Solar cells employing such post-treatment films demonstrated 19.58%PCE without hysteresis.Moreover,the post-treatment devices can retain over 90%original efficiencies stored under ambient atmospheric conditions and exhibit better stability under 85℃and continuous illumination as a two-dimensional(2D)perovskite thin layer is formed on the surface/or at the grain boundaries of 3D perovskite.This study offers an effective way to obtain PSCs with high efficiency and stability. 展开更多

Many concrete dams seriously suffer from long-term seepage dissolution,and the induced mechanical property deterioration of concrete may significantly affect the structural performance,especially the seismic safety.An approach is presented in this paper to quantify the influence of seepage dissolution on seismic performance of concrete dams.To connect laboratory test with numerical simulation,dissolution tests are conducted for concrete specimens and using the cumulative relative leached calcium as an aging index,a deterioration model is established to predict the mechanical property of leached concrete in the first step.A coupled seepage-calcium dissolutionmigrationmodel containing two calculation modes is proposed to simulate the spatially non-uniformdeterioration of concrete dams.Based on the simulated state of a roller compacted concrete dam subjected to 100 years of seepage dissolution,seismic responses of the damare subsequently analyzed.During which the nonlinear cracking of concrete,the radiation damping of the far-field foundation is considered.Research results show that seepage dissolution will seriously weaken the seismic safety of concrete dams because of the dissolution-induced decrease of effective thickness of the dam body.The upstream surface,dam toe and gallery wall suffer from a large degree of dissolution,whereas it is minimal and basically the same inside the dam body,at a degree of 0.19%within 100 years.The horizontal displacements of dam crest under the design static load and fortification against earthquake increase by 6.9%and 21.9%,respectively,and the dissolution-induced seismic cracking leads to the failure of dam anti-seepage system.This study can provide engineers with a reference basis for reinforcement decision of old concrete dams. 展开更多

Doubly charged positive ions(dications)are an important component of planetary ionospheres because of the large energy required for their formation.Observations of these ions are exceptionally difficult due to their low abundances;until now,only atomic dications have been detected.The Neutral Gas and Ion Mass Spectrometer(NGIMS)measurements made on board the recent Mars Atmosphere and Volatile Evolution mission provide the first opportunity for decisive detection of molecular dications,CO2^++in this case,in a planetary upper atmosphere.The NGIMS data reveal a dayside averaged CO2^++distribution declining steadily from 5.6 cm^−3 at 160 km to below 1 cm^−3 above 200 km.The dominant CO2^++production mechanisms are double photoionization of CO2 below 190 km and single photoionization of CO2^+at higher altitudes;CO2++destruction is dominated by natural dissociation,but reactions with atmospheric CO2 and O become important below 160 km.Simplified photochemical model calculations are carried out and reasonably reproduce the data at low altitudes within a factor of 2 but underestimate the data at high altitudes by a factor of 4.Finally,we report a much stronger solar control of the CO2^++density than of the CO2+density. 展开更多

O^++ is an interesting species in the ionospheres of both the Earth and Venus. Recent measurements made by the Neutral Gas and Ion Mass Spectrometer (NGIMS) on board the Mars Atmosphere and Volatile Evolution (MAVEN) spacecraft provide the first firm detection of O^++ in the Martian ionosphere. This study is devoted to an evaluation of the dominant O^++ production and destruction channels in the dayside Martian ionosphere, by virtue of NGIMS data accumulated over a large number of MAVEN orbits. Our analysis reveals the dominant production channels to be double photoionization of O at low altitudes and photoionization of O^+ at high altitudes, respectively, in response to the varying degree of O ionization. O^++ destruction is shown to occur mainly via charge exchange with CO2 at low altitudes and with O at high altitudes. In the dayside median sense, an exact balance between O^++ production and destruction is suggested by the data below 200 km. The apparent discrepancy from local photochemical equilibrium at higher altitudes is interpreted as a signature of strong O^++ escape on Mars, characterized by an escape rate of 6×10^22s^-1. 展开更多

Lead-free double perovskite Cs_(2)AgBiBr_(6) has gained increasing attention recently.However,the power conversion efficiency(PCE)of Cs_(2)AgBiBr_(6) perovskite solar cells(PSCs)is still low compared with their lead-based counterparts.Here,by using photoluminescence(PL),time-resolved photoluminescence(TRPL),and ultrafast transient absorption(TA)measurements,the unbalance between the electron and hole in diffusion and transfer,which limits the performance of the Cs_(2)AgBiBr_(6) PSCs,was further revealed.Considering this issue,a strategy of using the mesoporous TiO_(2) electron transport layer(ETL)to construct a bulk heterojunction in Cs_(2)AgBiBr_(6) PSCs was proposed.Consequently,the PCE had improved by over 24%comparing with that only used compact TiO_(2) ETL.Moreover,based on mesoporous TiO_(2),the unencapsulated Cs_(2)AgBiBr_(6) PSCs maintained 90%of their initial performance after approximately 1200 h of storage in a desiccator(humidity~30%).This work gives further understanding of Cs_(2)AgBiBr_(6) perovskite and demonstrates that a proper design of balancing the electron and hole diffusion can improve device performance. 展开更多

Solar Wind(SW)electron precipitation is able to deposit a substantial amount of energy in the nightside Martian upper atmosphere,potentially exerting an influence on its thermal structure.This study serves as the first investigation of such an issue,with the aid of the simultaneous measurements of both neutral density and energetic electron intensity made on board the recent Mars Atmosphere and Volatile Evolution(MAVEN)spacecraft.We report that,from a statistical point of view,the existing measurements do not support a scenario of noticeable neutral heating via SW electron precipitation.However,during 3%−4%of the MAVEN orbits for which data are available,strong correlation between nightside temperature and electron intensity is observed,manifested as collocated enhancements in both parameters,as compared to the surrounding regions.In addition,our analysis also indicates that neutral heating via SW electron precipitation tends to be more effective at altitudes below 160 km for integrated electron intensities above 0.01 ergs·cm^−2·s^−1 over the energy range of 3−450 eV.The results reported here highlight the necessity of incorporating SW electron precipitation as a heat source in the nightside Martian upper atmosphere under extreme circumstances such as during interplanetary coronal mass ejections. 展开更多

In this method, the radome is discretized by a regular grid with rooftop basic functions. The Volume Integral Equation (VIE) for 3D dielectric object is transformed to linear system by Galerkin’s testing formulation. Furthermore, the linear system is presented by Toeplitz matrix which can be solved by the Conjugate Gradient algorithm combined with Fast Fourier Transform (CG-FFT) iteratively. Also, the algorithm requires less computational complexity and memory. This paper simulates the mono-static Radar Cross Section of dielectric radome by the CG-FFT, which was validated against commercial software FEKO. 展开更多

BACKGROUND Percutaneous sclerotherapy can be used to successfully treat venous malformations(VMs)of the head,neck,and limbs.However,the standard curative effect of sclerotherapy has rarely been analyzed,and there is currently no accurate statistical method to measure the volume of VMs after sclerotherapy.Here,we propose a novel threedimensional(3D)reconstruction method to evaluate this effect.OBJECTIVE To test the feasibility of 3D software(MIMICS 19.0)to evaluate the treatment effect of sclerotherapy.METHODS This retrospective study included patients with VMs on the head,neck,and limbs who were treated with ethanol sclerotherapy or foam sclerotherapy every 8 weeks.MIMICS 19.0 was used to calculate the performance of the lesion after treatment and measure the VM volumes before and after the treatment.The effect of the clinical treatment dose on the lesion was evaluated,and the treatment effect of each patient was recorded.The relationship between the number of treatments and the reduced volume of VMs was analyzed.RESULTS Based on the MIMICS-calculated regions of interest(ROI),we found that 1 mL of ethanol reduced the lesion by 473 mm3 and that one dosage of foam(1 mL of polidocanol and 4 mL air content)reduced the lesion by 2138 mm3,demonstrating that the foam sclerosing agent exhibited greater efficacy in this study.CONCLUSIONS The MIMICS 3D volume reconstruction method can effectively and safely evaluate the efficacy of sclerotherapy and provide a preoperative evaluation.This method is simple,accurate,and feasible. 展开更多
