Best corrected visual acuity (BCVA), refraction error, and the foveal thickness by optical coherence tomography (OCT) were recorded before and after the surgery, and complications were noted. RESULTS: The follow-up period was 12mo, and the main focus was on the results of the 12-month follow-up visit. The mean preoperative BCVA was 0.96±0.43 IogMAR. At the final follow-up visit, the mean BCVA was 0.46± 0.28 IogMAR, which significantly improved compared with the preoperative one (P =0.003). The BCVA improved in 33 eyes (84.62%), and unchanged in 6 eyes (15.38%). At the end of follow-up, the mean refractive error was -15.13 ±2.55 D, and the improvement was significantly compared with the preoperative one (-17.53±4.51 D) (P= 0.002). Twelve months after surgery, OCT showed complete resolution of the myopic foveoschisis and a reattachment of the fovea in 37 eyes (94.87%) and partial resolution in the remained two eyes (5.13%). The foveal thickness was obviously reduced at 12-month follow-up visit (196.45±36.35um) compared with the preoperative one (389,32±75.56um) (P=0.002). There were no serious complications during the 12mo follow-up period. CONCLUSION: PSR combined with vitrectomy is a safe and effective procedure for myopic foveoschisis with both visual and anatomic improvement.展开更多

Axial length, refraction error, best corrected visual acuity(BCVA), and macular scans by optical coherence tomography(OCT) were recorded at baseline, 6mo, 1, 3and 5y after the surgery, and the complications were noted.·RESULTS: There were no statistical differences in axial length, refractive error, or BCVA between the PSR group and the control group at baseline. At the end of the follow-up, the mean axial length was 29.79 ±1.26 mm in the PSR group, which was significantly shorter than that in the control group(30.78±1.30 mm)(P 〈0.01), and the mean refractive error was-16.86 ±2.53 D in the PSR group, which was significantly lower than that in the control group(-19.18 ±2.12 D)(P 〈0.01). A statistically significant difference in BCVA was found between the PSR group(0.51 ±0.25 log MAR) and the control group(0.62±0.26 log MAR) at the postoperative 5-year follow-up(P 〈0.01). Saturable absorbers(SAs)covering wavelengths from near-infrared(NIR)to mid-infrared(MIR)band are required for mode-locking and Q-switching lasers in muti-band wavelengths.Here,broadband nonlinear optical property was ...Saturable absorbers(SAs)covering wavelengths from near-infrared(NIR)to mid-infrared(MIR)band are required for mode-locking and Q-switching lasers in muti-band wavelengths.Here,broadband nonlinear optical property was discovered in Cs_(x)WO_(3) nanorods(NRs),which as a novel non-stoichiometric SA for realizing ultrafast fiber lasers is first demonstrated.The Cs_(x)WO_(3) NRs based SA exhibited good mode-locking ability in three key wavelengths from NIR to MIR region,which is a key advantage over the most reported broadband SAs.The given Cs_(x)WO_(3) NRs showed a broadband optical absorption from 800 to 3,200 nm,and excellent SA properties at 1-μm,1.5-μm,and 2-μm optical bands.Employing such SA,the ultrashort pulse lasers with a pulse duration/repetition rate of 530 fs/37.42 MHz at 1,567 nm and 5.6 ps/41.50 MHz at 1,965 nm from Er-and Tm-doped fiber lasers(TDFL)were realized separately.In addition,a stable mode locked operation at 1,030 nm with a repetition rate of 48.80 MHz was also achieved from Yb-doped fiber laser(YDFL).This work not only offers a new and reliable broadband mode locker for ultrafast laser generation,but also broadens the application of Cs_(x)WO_(3) materials in the field of nonlinear fiber optics.展开更多

The growth regularities of nanomaterials are often concealed by the contingency of preparation. Therefore, it is always very difficult to figure out growth regularities of nanomaterials due to the accompanying undulat...The growth regularities of nanomaterials are often concealed by the contingency of preparation. Therefore, it is always very difficult to figure out growth regularities of nanomaterials due to the accompanying undulation of products. A series of precise synthesis was performed by using an automatic nanomaterial synthesizer (ANS) in order to explore the growth regularity of complex NaREF4 (RE: rare earth) upconversion nanocrystals (UCNCs). The use of ANS significantly enhances the experimental controllability, repeatability, and success rate. Mass experimental research exhibited that the NaLu_(0.795−x)Y_(x)F_(4):Yb^(3+)/Tm^(3+) (x = 0−0.795) UCNCs can vary their sizes continuously in a wide range to accurately meet the experimenter’s design merely by controlling the concentration of Y^(3+). A notable growth regularity was obtained and intuitively shown in growth phase diagrams. Furthermore, in the case of having excellent monodispersity, pure hexagonal phase, and uniform morphology, the prepared UCNCs still retained superior upconversion luminescent (UCL) properties. The regular changes in UCL properties further confirmed the growth regularity of the UCNCs. After analyzing the experimental data, we found that NaLu_(0.795−x)Y_(x)F_(4) combined the advantages of NaYF_(4) and NaLuF_(4) hosts with desired sizes. These results provide a guidance for the exploration of growth regularities of other similar nanomaterials and also for the structure design of the required nanomaterials.展开更多
