With advances in biomedical methods, tissue-engineered materials have developed rapidly as an alternative to nerve autografts for the repair of peripheral nerve injuries. However, the materials selected for use in the repair of peripheral nerve injuries, in particular multiple injuries and largegap defects, must be chosen carefully. Various methods and materials for protecting the healthy tissue and repairing peripheral nerve injuries have been described, and each method or material has advantages and disadvantages. Recently, a large amount of research has been focused on tissue-engineered materials for the repair of peripheral nerve injuries. Using the keywords "peripheral nerve injury", "autotransplant", "nerve graft", and "biomaterial", we retrieved publications using tissue-engineered materials for the repair of peripheral nerve injuries appearing in the Web of Science from 2010 to 2014. The country with the most total publications was the USA. The institutions that were the most productive in this field include Hannover Medical School (Germany), Washington University (USA), and Nantong University (China). The total number of publications using tissue-engineered materials for the repair of peripheral nerve injuries grad- ually increased over time, as did the number of Chinese publications, suggesting that China has made many scientific contributions to this field of research. 展开更多

Neurogenic bladder is a dysfunction of the lower urinary tract caused by nervous system disor- der. We investigated the trends in publication of articles under the topic "neurogenic bladder" using bibliometric analysis. Articles on neurogenic bladder, published between 1995 and 2014, were retrieved from the ISI Web of Science citation database. We analyzed the search results for authors, countries, institutions, journals, and top-cited papers. A total of 1,904 articles were re- trieved. There was a small increase in the number of articles on neurogenic bladder from 1995 (n = 43) to 2014 (n = 117). The USA was the leading country in the total number of articles (n = 598). However, the number of publications from China has rapidly increased, and China was ranked second in 2014. Emmanuel Chartier-Kastler (n = 65) was the most productive author, and University of Paris VI (Paris 6) (n = 61) was the most productive institution. The Journal of Urology published the greatest number of artides on this topic (n = 285). Articles on neurogenic bladder were often published in a professional journal under the category Urology & Nephrology, Neurosciences & Neurology, or Rehabilitation. Visualization analysis based on co-citation networks was conducted using CiteSpace III. Visualization analysis revealed that the hot spots in neurogenic bladder were botulinum toxin-A, prazosin, bethanechol, and afferent pathways. These findings provide new insight into the publication trends and hot spots in neurogenic bladder. 展开更多

This exploratory study investigated the circumstances of falls and fall-related injuries among frail elderly people under home care.A convenience sample of 500 frail elderly(60 e99 years old)from the Wanshoulu and Yuyuantan communities in Beijing's Haidian District during February 2013 and March 2014.Fall circumstances and related injuries were characterized by detailed interviews and questionnaires. The article reports the results of a study that the overall fall incidence was 41.5%,and higher for females than males.Falls mainly occurred in individuals who were over 80 years old(50.0%)and indoors(67.9%).The percentage of subjects who experienced a combined injury after the fall was 56.3%,whereas 19.0%fell causes a fracture.Approximately 35%of the subjects were hospitalized, and 27.6%of the subjects recovered more than 30 days. Results indicate that, falls in the frail elderly caused serious damage, and fall-related circumstances should be a great concern in this population. 展开更多

Objective:This study was intended to assess the effect of Tai Chi on the prevention of fall among the elderly. Methods:Relevant randomized controlled trials published since inception up to 6 January 2019 were selected in the electronic databases(PubMed,Cochrane Library,Web of Science,EMBASE,CBM,CNKI and Wan fang). Two researchers independently screened the literature, extracted data and evaluated the literature quality.Publication bias was assessed by Forest plot,Begg's test and Egger's test.STATA 14.0 software was used to do meta-analysis on the relationship between TAI Chi and fall. This study was registered at international prospective register of systematic Reviews(number:CRD42019122958).Results:A total of 6 RCTs were included. The results showed that, the incidence of fall among the elderly in Tai Chi group is less than that of blank group[RR=0.44(0.21-0.90)],but no statistical difference in the comparison of Tai Chi plus education and education[RR=0.96(0.76-1.22)],which was also supported by subgroup analysis.Meanwhile, similar result also appeared in the comparison of Tai Chi group and education group[RR=0.73(0.51-1.06)].Conclusion:Tai Chi could reduce the incidence of falls among the elderly, but the effect of Tai Chi plus education/Tai Chi on the incidence of falls is consistent with education alone. Therefore,we should pay attention to fall-related education among the elderly. 展开更多

Purpose:Venous thromboembolism(VTE)is a major health issue among hip fracture patients. This study aimed to develop an information platform based on a mobile application and then evaluate whether information platform-based nursing could improve patient’’s drug compliance and reduce the incidence of VTE in hip fracture patients. Methods:This study retrospectively analyzed hip fracture patients who were treated with conventional prevention and intervention methods for VTE(control group)between January 2008 and November 2012,and prospectively analyzed hip fracture patients who were treated with nursing intervention based on the information platform(study group)between January 2016 and September 2017.All the patients included in the both groups were hip fracture patients who had an age over 50 years, treated with surgery, and hospitalized≥48 h.Patients were excluded if they admitted to hospital due to old fractures, had a severe bleeding after 72 h of admission, diagnosed with any type of VTE,or refused to participate in the study. The information platform was divided into medical, nursing, and patient interface.Based on the information platform, medical practitioners and nurses could perform risk assessments, monitoring management and early warnings, preventions and treatments, health educations,follow-up,and other aspects of nursing interventions for patients. This study compared essential characteristics, drug compliance,VTE occurrence, and mean length of hospitalization between the two groups.Besides,a subgroup analysis was performed in the study group according to different drug compliances.SPSS 18.0 software(IBM Corp.,NY,and USA)was used for statistical analysis. Results:Altogether 1177 patients were included in the control group, and 491 patients in the study group.Regarding baseline data, patients in the study group had more morbidities than those in the control group(p<0.05).The difference of drug compliance between the two groups was statistically significant(p<0.001):761(64.7%)of the patients in the control group and only 30(6.1%)patients in the study group had poor drug compliance. In terms of VTE,10.7%patients(126/1177)in the control group had VTE,and the rate in the study group was 7.1%(35/491),showing a statistically significant difference(p=0.02).Moreover,the average length of hospitalization in the study group was also significantly lower than that in the control group(10.4 daysvs.13.7 days,p<0.001).Subgroup analyses of the study group showed that the incidence of VTE in patients with poor, partial, and good compliances were 56.7%(17/30),5.8%(10/171),and 2.8%(8/290),respectively,revealing a significantly huge difference(p<0.001).Conclusions:Poor drug compliance leads to higher VTE occurrence. The information platform-based nursing can effectively improve the compliance of hip fracture patients and thus considerably reduce the incidence of VTE.The mobile application may be an effective tool to prevent VTE in hip fracture patients. 展开更多
