Compressed Sensing Based on the Single Layer Wavelet Transform for Image Fusion

In this paper, a new method of combination single layer wavelet transform and compressive sensing is proposed for image fusion. In which only measured the high-pass wavelet coefficients of the image but preserved the low-pass wavelet coefficient. Then, fuse the low-pass wavelet coefficients and the measurements of high-pass wavelet coefficient with different schemes. For the reconstruction, by using the minimization of total variation algorithm (TV), high-pass wavelet coefficients could be recovered by the fused measurements. Finally, the fused image could be reconstructed by the inverse wavelet transform. The experiments show the proposed method provides promising fusion performance with a low computational complexity. 展开更多

An integrated energy service company in an industrial park or commercial building is responsible for managing all energy sources in their local region, including electricity, water, gas, heating, and cooling. To reduce energy wastage and increase energy utilization, it is necessary to perform efficiency analyses and diagnoses on integrated energy systems(IESs). However, the integrated energy data necessary for energy efficiency analyses and diagnoses come from a wide variety of instruments, each of which uses different transmission protocols and data formats. This makes it challenging to handle energy-flow data in a unified manner. Thus, we have constructed a unified model for diagnosing energy usage abnormalities in IESs. Using this model, the data are divided into working days and non-working days, and benchmark values are calculated after the data have been weighted to enable unified analysis of several types of energy data. The energy-flow data may then be observed, managed, and compared in all aspects to monitor sudden changes in energy usage and energy wastage. The abnormal data identified and selected by the unified model are then subjected to big-data analysis using technical management tools, enabling the detection of user problems such as abnormalities pertaining to acquisition device, metering, and energy usage. This model facilitates accurate metering of energy data and improves energy efficiency. The study has significant implications in terms of fulfilling the energy saving. 展开更多

Superelastic shape memory alloys( SMAs) have the ability to recover their original shape after experiencing large strains. End-plate connection with using superelastic long shank SMA bolts is proposed in this paper. By using strong beam-weak bolt cluster design methodology and special configurations to strength beam ends,a superelastic hinge is expected to form in column flange. To validate the mechanical behavior of the proposed beam-to-column connection,both quasi-static tests and numerical analysis are conducted with cyclic transverse loads applied on the beam ends. The results indicate the connection deformations concentrate on the long shank SMA bolts upon loading and the bolt cluster rotates around the axis near beam flange. By using the super elastic effect,the SMA bolts recover most elongations and the connection recovers to its original shape after experiencing 0. 02 rad interstorey drift angle. The connection shows obvious self-centering properties. 展开更多

Firstly, the fundamental vibration mode was applied to wavelet analysis. The crack location was found by the peaks of the wavelet coefficients. Secondly, based on the identified crack locations, a simple transform matrix method requiring only the first two tested natural frequencies was used to further identify the crack depth. The present method can be used for crack identification in a complex structure. Numerical results of crack identification of a stepped cantilever beam show that the suggested method is feasible. 展开更多

The hybrid structure consisting of castellated composite beam and compound spiral hoop reinforced concrete column take full advantages of steel and concrete material.To popularize the structural form in real conditions,a beam⁃through⁃type beam⁃column connection is proposed.Two 1/2⁃scaled connection specimens were tested and three⁃dimensional finite element models of the beam⁃column connection were set up.The longitudinal reinforcements,concrete beam,and column were simulated by link and solid elements,respectively.The influences of the parameters such as expansion ratio,location of web opening,and original height of steel beam were studied.The results show that connections possessed high initial rigidity.The expansion ratio of steel beam showed more important influence on the connection’s ultimate bearing capacity.For the connection models with steel beam expansion ratio of 1.4,the maximum increment of the ultimate bearing capacity of the connection could reach 28%.In order to prevent the local buckling failure of steel beam from occurring near web opening,the expansion ratio of steel beam should not be greater than 1.3. 展开更多

Initially, the first... Arch is a typical complex structure comparing with beam and plate in bridge system. This paper investigates the damage characteristic combining the crack location with the crack intensity in arch. Initially, the first four displacement modes of intact and different damaged arch are simulated and the displacement mode changes are obtained. Next, the wavelet transformation is applied to the displacement mode changes in arch and wavelet coefficients at damage loci are picked. Finally, the damage index including damage location and damage intensity in arch is provided and plotted. The results show that wavelet coefficient module maximum of mode changes can be the damage indicator and is influenced by damage location and damage intensity. The damage indicator is proportional to the damage intensity and present monotonic trend according to damage location which depend on the mode order. At the same time, the large modulus maximum corresponds to small damage combination of location and intensity in the first four modes. 展开更多

Sandwiched functionally-graded piezoelectric semiconductor(FGPS)plates possess high strength and excellent piezoelectric and semiconductor properties,and have significant potential applications in micro-electro-mechanical systems.The multi-field coupling and free vibration of a sandwiched FGPS plate are studied,and the governing equation and natural frequency are derived with the consideration of electron movement.The material properties in the functionally-graded layers are assumed to vary smoothly,and the first-order shear deformation theory is introduced to derive the multi-field coupling in the plate.The total strain energy of the plate is obtained,and the governing equations are presented by using Hamilton’s principle.By introducing the boundary conditions,the coupling physical fields are solved.In numerical examples,the natural frequencies of sandwiched FGPS plates under different geometrical and physical parameters are discussed.It is found that the initial electron density can be used to modulate the natural frequencies and vibrational displacement of sandwiched FGPS plates in the case of nano-size.The effects of the material properties of FGPS layers on the natural frequencies are also examined in detail. 展开更多

By considering electromechanical coupling, a unified dynamic model of the cylindrical shell with the piezoelectric shunt damping patch(PSDP) is created. The model is universal and can simulate the vibration characteristic of the shell under different states including the states in which PSDP cannot be connected, partially connected, and completely connected to the shunt circuit. The equivalent loss factor and elastic modulus with frequency dependence are proposed to consider the electrical damping effect of resistance shunt circuits. Moreover, the semi-analytical dynamic equation of the cylindrical shell with PSDP is derived by the Lagrange equation. An experimental test is carried out on the cylindrical shell with PSDP to verify the vibration suppression ability of PSDP on the cylindrical shell and the correctness of the proposed model. Furthermore, the parameter analysis shows that determining the appropriate resistance value in the shunt circuit can achieve a good vibration suppression effect. 展开更多

The pneumatic probe is widely used for contact measurements in turbomachinery flow field research.However,it inevitably interferes with the original flow field,leading to additional errors,particularly in wake flow fields or transonic regions with significant pressure gradients.This study employed Reynolds-Averaged Navier-Stokes delete and high-fidelity numerical simulation to investigate the impact of an inserted pneumatic probe on the wake flow field of a transonic turbine blade and compared it to the baseline flow field.Results indicate that the probe causes the shock waves premature occurrence in the high subsonic wake region near the turbine blade trailing edge.These shock waves affect vortex shedding by thickening the boundary layer near the trailing edge and changing the shedding pattern from high-frequency-low-energy to low-frequencyhigh-energy.In addition,the extra flow loss is incurred,and the blade's heat transfer characteristic is changed.This research provides a reference for testing experiments in complex transonic flow fields,guiding experimental researchers to minimize instrument interference with the original flow field. 展开更多

The morphology and distribution of silicides inα/αþβtype titanium alloys impress on their properties.Nevertheless,the types of silicide precipitates and their formation mechanisms remain unclear inβ-type Ti–Nb–Zr–Ta alloys.In this study,we report the precipitation behavior of silicides formed upon aging treatment of a laser powder bed fusion(LPBF)-fabricatedβ-type Ti–34.5Nb–6.9Zr–4.9Ta–1.4Si(wt%,TNZTS)alloy.We further discuss their underlying formation mechanism and silicide selection-oriented mechanical properties tailoring for LPBF-fabricated TNZTS alloy.Two novel silicide precipitates were formed:a supersaturated Si–richβ–Ti matrix in the form of a network that can further transform into the(Ti,Zr)2Si(S2)phase with the increase of aging temperature;and a short,rod-like S2 precipitate adjacent to pre-existing dot-shaped S2.The former results from the aggregation of Si solute atoms towards to the dislocation walls/microbands and the subsequent precipitation reaction,while the latter arises from the considerable micro-strain around the phase boundary between the dotshaped S2 andβ-Ti owing to the large difference in their thermal expansion coefficients.The aging-treated TNZTS alloy exhibits a good combination of tensile strength(10835 MPa)and fracture strain(5.6%1.0%),which is attributed to precipitation strengthening,grain-boundary strengthening,and discontinuous intergranular silicide derived from phase selection.The obtained results provide a basis for the design and fabrication of biomedical Sicontainingβ-type Ti alloys with excellent mechanical properties. 展开更多

This paper presents a numerical investigation of effects of axial non-uniform tip clearances on the aerodynamic performance of a transonic axial compressor rotor (NASA Rotor 37). The three-dimensional steady flow field within the rotor passage was simulated with the datum tip clearance of 0.356 mm at the design wheel speed of 17188.7 rpm. The simulation results are well consistent with the measurement results, which verified the numeri- cal method. Then the three-dimensional steady flow field within the rotor passage was simulated respectively with different axial non-uniform tip clearances. The calculation results showed that optimal axial non-uniform tip clearances could improve the compressor performance, while the efficiency and the pressure ratio of the com- pressor were increased. The flow mechanism is that the axial non-uniform tip clearance can weaken the tip leak- age vortex, blow down low-energy fluids in boundary layers and reduce both flow blockage and tip loss. 展开更多

This paper presents the investigation of the effects of suction side squealer tip on the performance of an axial compressor. The experiment is carded out in a single-stage large-scale low-speed compressor. The investigated tip geometries include fiat tip as the baseline and suction side squealer tip. The tip clearance of the baseline is 0.5% of the blade span. The static pressure rise characteristic curves of both the rotor and the stage are measured. The flow field at the exit of the rotor is measured by a 5-hole probe under design and off-design conditions. The static pressure on the endwall of the rotor passage is also obtained. The results show that the pressure rise characteristic curves obtained by measuring the pressure on the end wall are almost unchanged by using the suction side squealer tip. The measuring results of the 5-hole probe show the static pressure and the total pressure in tip region is slightly greater than that of the flat tip at the design condition at the exit of the rotor. It also leads to greater averaged static pressure rise and total pressure. At the near stall condition, the averaged static pressure and total pressure is lower than the baseline which is related to the redistribution of the blade load caused by the suction side squealer tip. 展开更多

It was shown that the anti-penetration performance of sandwich panels was enhanced with the increase of face-sheet or core thickness; The penetration resistance of sandwich panels was shown to be strongest to blunt-shaped projectile impacts, weaker to hemispherical-nose-shaped projectile impacts, and weakest to conical-shaped projectile impacts. The corresponding numerical simulation was carried out using the finite element code LS-DYNA V970. Numerical results showed that the penetration time decreased with the increase of projectile impact velocity. 展开更多

This paper performs a numerical simulation of three-dimensional flow field in a centrifugal compressor with long inlet and outlet pipes using CFX software.By arranging virtual probes at different positions in both inlet and outlet planes,the aerodynamic performance of the centrifugal compressor is measured and compared with each other.Then effects of measuring positions on measurement results are discussed.The results show that it will generate notable measuring errors of the pressure ratio and efficiency if the inlet total pressure is measured using a single-point probe.The inlet total pressure data can be accurate when they are measured using a 3-point rake.The outlet total pressure and total temperature data can not be accurate if they are respectively measured at one circumferential position even using a multi-point rake.Increasing tangential measuring positions at the outlet is effective to improve the test accuracy.When the outlet total pressure and total temperature are respectively measured at 3 tangential positions,the data can be almost accurate. 展开更多

The efficient dynamic modeling and vibration transfer analysis of a fluid-delivering branch pipeline(FDBP)are essential for analyzing vibration coupling effects and implementing vibration reduction optimization.Therefore,this study proposes a reduced-order dynamic modeling method suitable for FDBPs and then analyzes the vibration transfer characteristics.For the modeling method,the finite element method and absorbing transfer matrix method(ATMM)are integrated,considering the fluid–structure coupling effect and fluid disturbances.The dual-domain dynamic substructure method is developed to perform the reduced-order modeling of FDBP,and ATMM is adopted to reduce the matrix order when solving fluid disturbances.Furthermore,the modeling method is validated by experiments on an H-shaped branch pipeline.Finally,transient and steady-state vibration transfer analyses of FDBP are performed,and the effects of branch locations on natural characteristics and vibration transfer behavior are analyzed.Results show that transient vibration transfer represents the transfer and conversion of the kinematic,strain,and damping energies,while steady-state vibration transfer characteristics are related to the vibration mode.In addition,multiple-order mode exchanges are triggered when branch locations vary in frequency-shift regions,and the mode-exchange regions are also the transformation ones for vibration transfer patterns. 展开更多
