Accurate prediction of the state-of-charge(SOC)of battery energy storage system(BESS)is critical for its safety and lifespan in electric vehicles.To overcome the imbalance of existing methods between multi-scale featu...Accurate prediction of the state-of-charge(SOC)of battery energy storage system(BESS)is critical for its safety and lifespan in electric vehicles.To overcome the imbalance of existing methods between multi-scale feature fusion and global feature extraction,this paper introduces a novel multi-scale fusion(MSF)model based on gated recurrent unit(GRU),which is specifically designed for complex multi-step SOC prediction in practical BESSs.Pearson correlation analysis is first employed to identify SOC-related parameters.These parameters are then input into a multi-layer GRU for point-wise feature extraction.Concurrently,the parameters undergo patching before entering a dual-stage multi-layer GRU,thus enabling the model to capture nuanced information across varying time intervals.Ultimately,by means of adaptive weight fusion and a fully connected network,multi-step SOC predictions are rendered.Following extensive validation over multiple days,it is illustrated that the proposed model achieves an absolute error of less than 1.5%in real-time SOC prediction.展开更多

Traditional methods need many executions for paramet...One-bit feedback systems generate binary data as their output and the system performance is usually measured by the success rate with a fixed parameter combination. Traditional methods need many executions for parameter optimization. Hence, it is impractical to utilize these methods in Expensive One-Bit Feedback Systems (EOBFSs), where a single system execution is costly in terms of time or money. In this paper, we propose a novel algorithm, named Iterative Regression and Optimization (IRO), for parameter optimization and its corresponding scheme based on the Maximum Likelihood Estimation (MLE) method and Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) method, named MLEPSO-IRO, for parameter optimization in EOBFSs. The IRO algorithm is an iterative algorithm, with each iteration comprising two parts: regression and optimization. Considering the structure of IRO and the Bernoulli distribution property of the output of EOBFSs, MLE and a modified PSO are selected to implement the regression and optimization sections, respectively, in MLEPSO-IRO. We also provide a theoretical analysis for the convergence of MLEPSO-IRO and provide numerical experiments on hypothesized EOBFSs and one real EOBFS in comparison to traditional methods. The results indicate that MLEPSO-IRO can provide a much better result with only a small amount of system executions.展开更多

Probiotics administration can improve host health.This study aims to determine the effects of probiotics(Lactobacillus casei Zhang and Lactobacillus plantarum P-8) administration on milk production,milk functional com...Probiotics administration can improve host health.This study aims to determine the effects of probiotics(Lactobacillus casei Zhang and Lactobacillus plantarum P-8) administration on milk production,milk functional components,milk composition,and fecal microbiota of dairy cows.Variations in the fecal bacteria microbiota between treatments were assessed based on 16 S rRNA profiles determined by Pac Bio single molecule real-time sequencing technology.The probiotics supplementation significantly increased the milk production and the contents of milk immunoglobulin G(IgG),lactoferrin(LTF),lysozyme(LYS)and lactoperoxidase(LP),while the somatic cell counts(SCC) significantly decreased(P < 0.01).However,no significant difference was found in the milk fat,protein and lactose contents(P > 0.05).Although the probiotics supplementation did not change the fecal bacteria richness and diversity,significantly more rumen fermentative bacteria(Bacteroides,Roseburia,Ruminococcus,Clostridium,Coprococcus and Dorea) and beneficial bacteria(Faecalibacterium prausnitzii) were found in the probiotics treatment group.Meanwhile,some opportunistic pathogens e.g.Bacillus cereus,Cronobacter sakazakii and Alkaliphilus oremlandii,were suppressed.Additionally,we found some correlations between the milk production,milk components and fecal bacteria.To sum up,our study demonstrated the beneficial effects of probiotics application in improving the quality and quantity of cow milk production.展开更多
The gut microbiota of Mongolian hosts has distinctive characteristics due to their meat- and dairyoriented daily diets and unique genotype.The aim of the present study was to investigate the effect of switching from t...The gut microbiota of Mongolian hosts has distinctive characteristics due to their meat- and dairyoriented daily diets and unique genotype.The aim of the present study was to investigate the effect of switching from the typical high protein and fat Mongolian diets to carbohydrate-rich meals composed principally of wheat,rice and naked oats on the host gut microbiota within 3 weeks.Our study took the advantage of the long sequence reads produced by the Pac Bio single molecule real-time sequencing technology to enable the profiling of subjects' gut microbiota communities along the diet intervention to the species precision.We found that the bacterial richness and diversity decreased apparently along the diet intervention.During the diet intervention,the gut microbiota composition displayed no significant difference at phylum level(with major phyla of Firmicutes,Bacteroidetes,Tenericutes and Proteobacteria).The relative abundances of some genera such as Bacteroidetes,Faecalibacterium,Roseburia,Alistipes,Streptococcus,and Oscillospira were significantly altered after the diet switching started.Notably,significant changes were also observed in the proportions of the species Bacteroides dorei,Bacteroides fragilis,Bacteroides thetaiotaomicron,Ruminococcus albus,Ruminococcus faecis,Roseburia faecis and Eubacterium ventriosum.These results have demonstrated that diet and host gut microbiota is closely linked.展开更多
Background: Differential diagnosis of active tuberculosis (ATB) and latent tuberculosis infection (LTBI) has been a challenge for clinicians in high TB burden countries. The purpose of this study was to improve the ac...Background: Differential diagnosis of active tuberculosis (ATB) and latent tuberculosis infection (LTBI) has been a challenge for clinicians in high TB burden countries. The purpose of this study was to improve the accuracy of differential diagnosis of ATB and LTBI by using fluorescent immunospot (FluoroSpot) assay to detect specific Th1 cell immune responses. The novelmycobacterium tuberculosis (MTB) latency-associated antigens Rv1733c and synthetic long peptides derived from Rv1733c (Rv1733c SLP) were used based on virulence factors early secreting antigen target-6 (ESAT-6) and culture filtrate protein-10 (CFP-10).Methods: Fifty-seven ATB cases, including 20 pathogen-confirmed ATB and 37 clinically diagnosed ATB, and 36 LTBI cases, were enrolled between January and December 2017. FluoroSpot assay was used to detect the interferon γ (IFN-γ) and interleukin 2 (IL-2) secreted by the specific T cells after being stimulated with MTB virulence factors ESAT-6 and CFP-10, MTB latency-associated antigens Rv1733c and Rv1733c SLP. The receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve was used to define the best cutoff value of latency-associated antigens in the use of differentiating ATB and LTBI. The sensitivity, specificity, predictive value, and likelihood ratio of ESAT-6 and CFP-10-FluoroSpot combined with latency-associated antigen in the differential diagnosis of ATB and LTBI were also calculated.Results: Following the stimulation with Rv1733c and Rv1733c SLP, the frequency of single IL-2-secreting T cells stimulated by Rv1733c SLP had the largest area under the ROC curve, which was 0.766. With a cutoff value of 1 (spot-forming cells [SFCs]/2.5 × 105 peripheral blood mononuclear cells) for frequency, the sensitivity and specificity of distinguishing ATB from LTBI were 72.2% and 73.7%, respectively. ESAT-6 and CFP-10-FluoroSpot detected the frequency and proportion of single IFN-γ-secreting T cells;the sensitivity and specificity of distinguishing ATB from LTBI were 82.5% and 66.7%, respectively. Combined with the frequency of single IL-2-secreting T cells stimulated by Rv1733c SLP on the basis of ESAT-6 and CFP-10-FluoroSpot, the sensitivity and specificity increased to 84.2% and 83.3%, respectively.Conclusion: Rv1733c SLP, combined with ESAT-6 and CFP-10, might be used as a candidate antigen for T cell-based tuberculosis diagnostic tests to differentiate ATB from LTBI.展开更多

Occlusion interference can disguise the features of a target and can also be used as an effective benchmark to determine whether a tracking algorithm is reliable. In this paper, we proposed an inner Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) algorithm to locate the optimal occlusion strategy under different tracking conditions and to identify the most effective occlusion positions and direction of movement to allow a target to evade tracking. This algorithm improved the standard PSO process in three ways. First, it introduced a death process, which greatly reduced the time cost of optimization. Second, it used statistical data to determine the fitness value of the particles so that the fitness more accurately described the tracking. Third, the algorithm could avoid being trapped in local optima, as the fitness changes with time. Experimental results showed that this algorithm was able to identify a global optimal occlusion strategy that can disturb the tracking machine with 86.8% probability over more than 10 000 tracking processes. In addition, it reduced the time cost by approximately 80%, compared with conventional PSO algorithms.展开更多
In actor-critic reinforcement learning(RL)algorithms,function estimation errors are known to cause ineffective random exploration at the beginning of training,and lead to overestimated value estimates and suboptimal p...In actor-critic reinforcement learning(RL)algorithms,function estimation errors are known to cause ineffective random exploration at the beginning of training,and lead to overestimated value estimates and suboptimal policies.In this paper,we address the problem by executing advantage rectification with imperfect demonstrations,thus reducing the function estimation errors.Pretraining with expert demonstrations has been widely adopted to accelerate the learning process of deep reinforcement learning when simulations are expensive to obtain.However,existing methods,such as behavior cloning,often assume the demonstrations contain other information or labels with regard to performances,such as optimal assumption,which is usually incorrect and useless in the real world.In this paper,we explicitly handle imperfect demonstrations within the actor-critic RL frameworks,and propose a new method called learning from imperfect demonstrations with advantage rectification(LIDAR).LIDAR utilizes a rectified loss function to merely learn from selective demonstrations,which is derived from a minimal assumption that the demonstrating policies have better performances than our current policy.LIDAR learns from contradictions caused by estimation errors,and in turn reduces estimation errors.We apply LIDAR to three popular actor-critic algorithms,DDPG,TD3 and SAC,and experiments show that our method can observably reduce the function estimation errors,effectively leverage demonstrations far from the optimal,and outperform state-of-the-art baselines consistently in all the scenarios.展开更多

文摘The gut microbiota of Mongolian hosts has distinctive characteristics due to their meat- and dairyoriented daily diets and unique genotype.The aim of the present study was to investigate the effect of switching from the typical high protein and fat Mongolian diets to carbohydrate-rich meals composed principally of wheat,rice and naked oats on the host gut microbiota within 3 weeks.Our study took the advantage of the long sequence reads produced by the Pac Bio single molecule real-time sequencing technology to enable the profiling of subjects' gut microbiota communities along the diet intervention to the species precision.We found that the bacterial richness and diversity decreased apparently along the diet intervention.During the diet intervention,the gut microbiota composition displayed no significant difference at phylum level(with major phyla of Firmicutes,Bacteroidetes,Tenericutes and Proteobacteria).The relative abundances of some genera such as Bacteroidetes,Faecalibacterium,Roseburia,Alistipes,Streptococcus,and Oscillospira were significantly altered after the diet switching started.Notably,significant changes were also observed in the proportions of the species Bacteroides dorei,Bacteroides fragilis,Bacteroides thetaiotaomicron,Ruminococcus albus,Ruminococcus faecis,Roseburia faecis and Eubacterium ventriosum.These results have demonstrated that diet and host gut microbiota is closely linked.

文摘Background: Differential diagnosis of active tuberculosis (ATB) and latent tuberculosis infection (LTBI) has been a challenge for clinicians in high TB burden countries. The purpose of this study was to improve the accuracy of differential diagnosis of ATB and LTBI by using fluorescent immunospot (FluoroSpot) assay to detect specific Th1 cell immune responses. The novelmycobacterium tuberculosis (MTB) latency-associated antigens Rv1733c and synthetic long peptides derived from Rv1733c (Rv1733c SLP) were used based on virulence factors early secreting antigen target-6 (ESAT-6) and culture filtrate protein-10 (CFP-10).Methods: Fifty-seven ATB cases, including 20 pathogen-confirmed ATB and 37 clinically diagnosed ATB, and 36 LTBI cases, were enrolled between January and December 2017. FluoroSpot assay was used to detect the interferon γ (IFN-γ) and interleukin 2 (IL-2) secreted by the specific T cells after being stimulated with MTB virulence factors ESAT-6 and CFP-10, MTB latency-associated antigens Rv1733c and Rv1733c SLP. The receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve was used to define the best cutoff value of latency-associated antigens in the use of differentiating ATB and LTBI. The sensitivity, specificity, predictive value, and likelihood ratio of ESAT-6 and CFP-10-FluoroSpot combined with latency-associated antigen in the differential diagnosis of ATB and LTBI were also calculated.Results: Following the stimulation with Rv1733c and Rv1733c SLP, the frequency of single IL-2-secreting T cells stimulated by Rv1733c SLP had the largest area under the ROC curve, which was 0.766. With a cutoff value of 1 (spot-forming cells [SFCs]/2.5 × 105 peripheral blood mononuclear cells) for frequency, the sensitivity and specificity of distinguishing ATB from LTBI were 72.2% and 73.7%, respectively. ESAT-6 and CFP-10-FluoroSpot detected the frequency and proportion of single IFN-γ-secreting T cells;the sensitivity and specificity of distinguishing ATB from LTBI were 82.5% and 66.7%, respectively. Combined with the frequency of single IL-2-secreting T cells stimulated by Rv1733c SLP on the basis of ESAT-6 and CFP-10-FluoroSpot, the sensitivity and specificity increased to 84.2% and 83.3%, respectively.Conclusion: Rv1733c SLP, combined with ESAT-6 and CFP-10, might be used as a candidate antigen for T cell-based tuberculosis diagnostic tests to differentiate ATB from LTBI.

文摘Reactive oxygen species(ROS)play an important role in many critical physiological processes.However,overproduction and accumulation of ROS in vivo can damage some biomolecules and lead to a variety of diseases.Therefore,it is necessary to develop efficient methods for the detection of ROS.Spectroscopic probes have been extensively employed in this respect because of their high sensitivity and superior spatiotemporal sampling capability.In this review,representative spectroscopic probes for the common ROS developed in the recent 5 years are summarized,and discussed according to design strategies and recognition groups.
文摘Interference and anti-interference are two opposite and important issues in visual tracking. Occlusion interference can disguise the features of a target and can also be used as an effective benchmark to determine whether a tracking algorithm is reliable. In this paper, we proposed an inner Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) algorithm to locate the optimal occlusion strategy under different tracking conditions and to identify the most effective occlusion positions and direction of movement to allow a target to evade tracking. This algorithm improved the standard PSO process in three ways. First, it introduced a death process, which greatly reduced the time cost of optimization. Second, it used statistical data to determine the fitness value of the particles so that the fitness more accurately described the tracking. Third, the algorithm could avoid being trapped in local optima, as the fitness changes with time. Experimental results showed that this algorithm was able to identify a global optimal occlusion strategy that can disturb the tracking machine with 86.8% probability over more than 10 000 tracking processes. In addition, it reduced the time cost by approximately 80%, compared with conventional PSO algorithms.

文摘In actor-critic reinforcement learning(RL)algorithms,function estimation errors are known to cause ineffective random exploration at the beginning of training,and lead to overestimated value estimates and suboptimal policies.In this paper,we address the problem by executing advantage rectification with imperfect demonstrations,thus reducing the function estimation errors.Pretraining with expert demonstrations has been widely adopted to accelerate the learning process of deep reinforcement learning when simulations are expensive to obtain.However,existing methods,such as behavior cloning,often assume the demonstrations contain other information or labels with regard to performances,such as optimal assumption,which is usually incorrect and useless in the real world.In this paper,we explicitly handle imperfect demonstrations within the actor-critic RL frameworks,and propose a new method called learning from imperfect demonstrations with advantage rectification(LIDAR).LIDAR utilizes a rectified loss function to merely learn from selective demonstrations,which is derived from a minimal assumption that the demonstrating policies have better performances than our current policy.LIDAR learns from contradictions caused by estimation errors,and in turn reduces estimation errors.We apply LIDAR to three popular actor-critic algorithms,DDPG,TD3 and SAC,and experiments show that our method can observably reduce the function estimation errors,effectively leverage demonstrations far from the optimal,and outperform state-of-the-art baselines consistently in all the scenarios.
