Introduction:Mass disasters can be provoked from many reasons and manifest in many variations.Objective:This review aims to demonstrate the role of Nursing and nurses in mass disasters treatment.Methodology:The material of the review is constituted from articles that were found from the research in Google Scholar and Hellenic Academic Libraries Link(HEAL-Link).Results:In mass disasters that are caused from earthquakes,floods,landslides and fires the consequences exceed the capacity of the affected area or community to respond to provide medical treatment.It is of great value the existence of coping plan and organogram for every variety of mass disaster that the members of the rescue team can rely on.Conclusions:To cope loses and for the avoidance of chaotic conditions in the place of disaster is required the knowledge of coping with such disasters by readiness exercises executed from all organizations that participate.

Factors Influencing the Incidence of Heart Disease

Introduction:Understanding the causes of heart disease is a relatively new field in medicine.In fact,heart disease was relatively rare before the early 1900s.Aim:The aim of this review study is to investigate the risk factors associated with the development of heart disease and its prevention.Material Methodology:A scrutinized review of the Greek and international literature was carried out.The material of the study was manuscripts on the subject found in Greek and international electronic databases such as:Google Scholar,Mednet,PubMed and the Association of Hellenic Academic libraries(HEAL-Link).Results:The risk factors for the development of heart disease are metabolic factors,i.e.,hypertension,diabetes,cholesterol and obesity;environmental factors,i.e.,smoking,lack of physical activity or exercise,poor dietary patterns and alcohol consumption;and other factors such as age,gender,heredity,socioeconomic status and psychological factors.Conclusions:Heart diseases are multifactorial diseases and the only way to successfully treat them is to take into account all the risk factors for their development,and to treat them systematically.

Milk Nutritional Composition and Its Role in Human Health

Introduction:Milk is a nutritious,white or slightly yellowish liquid,which is a biological secretion of mammalian breasts,including the human species,intended for feeding their babies.Purpose:The purpose of this review is to examine the nutritional value of milk and its usefulness in human nutrition.Material and Methods:The study was conducted based on reviewing Greek and international scientific studies on the subject found in Greek and international databases such as“PubMed”,“Scopus”and“Medline”,through the search engine“Google Scholar”and the Hellenic Academic Libraries Association(HEAL-Link).The exclusion criterion for the articles was the language,except for Greek and English.Mostly,only articles and studies accessible to authors were used.Results:Cow’s milk consumption is vital for children,because it is considered one of the most important factors in the structure and development of the skeleton and maintenance of Intestinal microbiota(intestinal flora)aiding digestive processes.Additionally,it promotes the absorption of calcium.As regards the milk consumption by older adults,it meets the needs of the body in the best way because its nutrients are in digestible form.One liter(1 L)of milk provides 700 calories and consuming 2 L of milk per day neutralizes the feeling of hunger from the body,while achieving a satisfactory weight loss diet.Conclusions:Milk,therefore,is an invaluable and irreplaceable liquid that offers considerable long-term benefits to both people of all ages and society.
