Spring Buds Bathed in the Sunlight of Sino-German Program

The Sino-German Development Cooperation Program between the All-China Women's Federation (ACWF) and Hans Seidel Foundation (HSF) sponsored a six-month practical skills training class for 18 Spring Bud girls from the mountainous areas in Guizhou Province. The training courses, focusing on tailoring skills, were conducted at the Pingdu Vocational Training Center in Qingdao City of Shandong Province.

Reporting Women's Development from Women's Point of View

The year 2005 marks the 10th anniversary of both the UN Fourth World Conference on Women which was held in Beijing in 1995 and the implementation of gender equality as a basic State policy. In order to record Chinese women's development in the last 10 years, promote gender equality and build a harmonious society, the activity 'Beijing+10: 100 Women Journalists Report on Women's Development' was held by the ACWF's Publicity Department, All-China Journalists Association, Beijing Women Journalists Association and China Women's News on July 12 in Beijing.

Gu Xiulian Leads the Chinese Women's Delegation to Mali and Bahrain

From November 16 to 24,2004, an 11 -member Chinese women's delegation, led by Gu Xiulian, Vice-Chairperson of the NPC Standing Committee and President of the All-China Women's Federation, paid a friendly visit to Mali and Bahrain respectively. It is the first delegation of the ACWF-president level that has been to the two countries.

Building an 'Information Bridge'for Rural Women

Information is becoming more and more important in modern society. Chinese rural women are an important part of agricultural production, and so have a strong need for up to date information on agricultural techniques, market demands, prices and advanced technology. Since 2003, by using foreign donation, the International Department of the ACWF has implemented the 'Women's Information Bridge' project among rural women to help them to improve their techniques and thus increase their profits.

Sino-Australian Training Workshop on Domestic Violence Held in Shanghai

Women facing domestic violence should call the police instead of tolerating it, staff members from the ACWF and Australian experts said at the Sino-Australian Training Workshop on Domestic Violence. The training workshop was held in Shanghai by the ACWF and the Australian Human Rights & Equal Opportunity Commission from July 25 to July 29, 2005.

China-Sweden Cooperation:Training'Door Openers' for Women

A China-Sweden project, entitled Women in Management, attracted participants from various arms of government and industry in the country. All-China Women's Federation (ACWF) and Swedish International Development Agency (SIDA) jointly sponsored the project, which was undertaken by Centek under the Sweden Lulea University of Technology. On human resource development and gender equality, the project began its first phase of the training course in Beijing, April 26-30, 2004.
