At least 79% of patients with hypothyroidism have muscle weakness, cramps, and myalgia complaints.1 The patients with hypothyroidism do have myopathy rather than functional muscle diseases.2 Nonspecific muscle stiffness related to myalgia may be associated with serum muscle enzyme elevations.
