AIM:To evaluate the long-term visual,refractive outcomes and vision-related quality of life after small incision lenticule extraction(SMILE)for the correction of high myopia.METHODS:Thirty patients(60 eyes)with high m...AIM:To evaluate the long-term visual,refractive outcomes and vision-related quality of life after small incision lenticule extraction(SMILE)for the correction of high myopia.METHODS:Thirty patients(60 eyes)with high myopia who underwent SMILE more than 5y were selected as the SMILE group.Another 30 high myopia patients(60 eyes)who had worn corrective spectacles for more than 5y were selected as the control group.In SMILE group,the postoperative follow-up time were 3,6 mo,1 and 5y.Uncorrected distance visual acuity(UDVA),corrected distance visual acuity(CDVA),spherical equivalent(SE),and ocular axial length(AL)were analyzed.The Chinese version of the National Eye Institute Visual Function Questionnaire-25(CHI-NEI-VFQ-25)was used to evaluate the vision-related quality of life in the SMILE group and the control group.RESULTS:In SMILE group,the mean preoperative SE was-7.29±0.87 D(range-6.00 to-9.125 D).At 5-year follow up,the efficacy index and safety index of SMILE were 1.09±0.18 and 1.19±0.12,respectively.Five years postoperatively,44 eyes(73%)obtained a visual acuity of 20/20 or better.There were no eyes with CDVA loss of one or more Snellen lines.Forty-nine eyes(82%)and 57 eyes(95%)were within±0.50 and±1.00 D of attempted correction at 5-year follow-up,respectively.Forty-eight eyes(80%)had astigmatism<0.50 D at 5-year followup.The postoperative mean SE values at 3,6 mo,1,and 5y were 0.11±0.44,0.07±0.45,-0.02±0.41,and-0.15±0.46 D,respectively.No significant change was observed in the ocular AL from before operation to 5y postoperatively(26.08±0.96 mm vs 26.01±0.94 mm,P=0.068).Compared to the control group,the SMILE group showed a significantly higher total score on the CHI-NEI-VFQ-25(90.14 vs 81.43,P<0.001).CONCLUSION:In the present study,in a long-term follow-up we demonstrate that correcting high myopia with SMILE is safe,effective,and predictable.Vision-related quality of life after SMILE is better in the SMILE group than in the control group who wore corrective spectacles.展开更多

The limited penetration of photons in biological tissue restricts the deep-tissue detection and imaging application.The micro-scale spatially offset Raman spectroscopy(micro-SORS)with an optical fiber probe,colleting ...The limited penetration of photons in biological tissue restricts the deep-tissue detection and imaging application.The micro-scale spatially offset Raman spectroscopy(micro-SORS)with an optical fiber probe,colleting photons from deeper regions by offsetting the position of laser excitation from the collection optics in a range of hundreds of microns,shows great potential to be integrated with endoscopy for inside-body noninvasive detection by circumventing this restric-tion,particularly with the combination of surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy(SERS).However,a detailed tissue penetration study of micro-SORS in combination with SERS is still lacking.Herein,we compared the signal decay of enhanced Raman nanotags through the tissue phantom of agarose gel and the biological tissue of porcine muscle in the near-infrared(NIR)region using a portable Raman spectrometer with a micro-SORS probe(2.1 mm in diameter)and a conventional hand-held probe(9.7mm in diameter).Two kinds of Raman nanotags were prepared from gold nanorods decorated with the nonresonant(4-nitrobenzenethiol)or resonant Raman reporter molecules(IR-780 iodide).The SERS measurements show that the penetration depths of two Raman nanotags are both over 2 cm in agarose gel and 3 mm in porcine muscle.The depth could be improved to over 4 cm in agarose gel and 5 mm in porcine tissue when using the micro-SORS system.This demonstrates the superiority of optical-fiber micro-SORS system over the conventional Raman detection for the detection of nanotags in deeper layers in the turbid medium and biological tissue,offering the possibility of combining the micro-SORS technique with SERS for noninvasive in vivo endoscopy-integrated clinical application.展开更多

As, Hg, Cr, Pb, Cd and fluorides in some drinking water sources of Rain City District are analyzed according to Standards For Drinking Wa-ter Quality (GB5749-2006). A health risk assessment model called USEPA is also applied to drinking water health risk assessment and management countermeasure is proposed. The results show that the greatest health risk for individual person per year is caused by Cr(VI). The health risk of carcinogens is much higher than that of non-carcinogens: the greatest risk value due to non-carcinogen pollutants is caused by fluoride (F), achieving 1.05×10-8/a. The ranking of risk values due to non-carcinogen pollutants by drinking water is Pb>fluoride (F)>Hg, within Pb accounting for 44.77%, fluo-ride (F) accounting for 34.30% and Hg accounting for 20.92%. The average individual carcinogenesis annual risk of Cr(VI) is the greatest, achieving 8.91×10-4/a. The ranking of risk value due to chemical carcinogen by rural drinking water of Ya’an is Cr6+>As>Cd, within Cr6+ accounting for 91.12%, As accounting for 5.89% and Cd accounting for 3.00%. Based on this, the strategy and measures of the health risk management are put forward. This study has worked efficiently in practice. Compared with the same kind of methods which have been found, the paper has the outstanding results for the health risk assessment of the rural drinking water safety.展开更多
To address the issue that B_(4)C ceramics are difficult to be wetted by aluminum metals in the composites,TiB_(2)was introduced via an in-situ reaction between TiH_(2)and B_(4)C to regulate their wettability and inter...To address the issue that B_(4)C ceramics are difficult to be wetted by aluminum metals in the composites,TiB_(2)was introduced via an in-situ reaction between TiH_(2)and B_(4)C to regulate their wettability and interfacial bonding.By pressure infiltration of the molten alloy into the freeze-cast porous ceramic skeleton,the 2024Al/B_(4)C-TiB_(2)composites with a laminate-reticular hierarchical structure were produced.Compared with 2024Al/B_(4)C composite,adding initial TiH_(2)improved the flexural strength and valid fracture toughness from(484±27)to(665±30)MPa and(19.3±1.5)to(32.7±1.8)MPa·m^(1/2),respectively.This exceptional damage resistance ability was derived from multiple extrinsic toughening mechanisms including uncracked-ligament bridging,crack branching,crack propagation and crack blunting,and more importantly,the fracture model transition from single to multiple crack propagation.This strategy opens a pathway for improving the wettability and interfacial bonding of Al/B_(4)C composites,and thus produces nacre-inspired materials with optimized damage tolerance.展开更多
Opium poppy(Papaver somniferum)is a source of morphine,codeine,and semisynthetic derivatives,including oxycodone and naltrexone.Here,we report the de novo assembly and genomic analysis of P.somniferum traditional land...Opium poppy(Papaver somniferum)is a source of morphine,codeine,and semisynthetic derivatives,including oxycodone and naltrexone.Here,we report the de novo assembly and genomic analysis of P.somniferum traditional landrace‘Chinese Herbal Medicine’.Variations between the 2.62 Gb CHM genome and that of the previously sequenced high noscapine 1(HN1)variety were also explored.Among 79,668 protein-coding genes,we functionally annotated 88.9%,compared to 68.8%reported in the HN1 genome.Gene family and 4DTv comparative analyses with three other Papaveraceae species revealed that opium poppy underwent two whole-genome duplication(WGD)events.The first of these,in ancestral Ranunculales,expanded gene families related to characteristic secondary metabolite production and disease resistance.The more recent species-specific WGD mediated by transposable elements resulted in massive genome expansion.Genes carrying structural variations and large-effect variants associated with agronomically different phenotypes between CHM and HN1 that were identified through our transcriptomic comparison of multiple organs and developmental stages can enable the development of new varieties.These genomic and transcriptomic analyses will provide a valuable resource that informs future basic and agricultural studies of the opium poppy.展开更多
Performance breakthrough of electrocatalysts highly relies on the regulation of internal structures and electronic states.In present work,for the first time,we successfully synthesized nitrogen doped FeS_(2) nanoparti...Performance breakthrough of electrocatalysts highly relies on the regulation of internal structures and electronic states.In present work,for the first time,we successfully synthesized nitrogen doped FeS_(2) nanoparticles(N-FeS_(2))as the electrocatalysts for hydrogen evolution reaction(HER).The band structure and electronic state of FeS_(2) are modulated by a nitrogen doping strategy,as confirmed by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS),X-ray absorption spectroscopy(XAS)and density functional theory(DFT)calculations.Owing to the band structure and electronic state regulation as well as the weakening of H-S interaction,the designed N-FeS_(2) electrocatalyst exhibits superior catalytic performance with a low overpotential(~126 mV at 10 mA cm^(-2))and excellent activity stability under alkaline conditions,which is substantially improved as compared with that of the pure FeS_(2) counterpart.Our work demonstrates that the modulation of electron state and band structure of an electrocatalyst,which can provide a valuable guidance for designing excellent catalysts for hydrogen evolution reaction and beyond.展开更多
Aiming at the unsafe of water quality which is the core problem in rural drinking water safety, the study col-lected 221 water samples of rural drinking water sources in Ya'an and detected the concentrations of th...Aiming at the unsafe of water quality which is the core problem in rural drinking water safety, the study col-lected 221 water samples of rural drinking water sources in Ya'an and detected the concentrations of the car-cinogen and the non-carcinogen. Based on the analysis of water environment characteristics and the identifi-cation of water environment health risk source of Sichuan Ya’an City, which includes seven counties and a district and is the typical region of the western margin of Sichuan Basin, this study calculated and analyzed the carcinogenic risk (R) and non-carcinogenic risk (hazard index, HI) by applying the health risk model recommended by the US National Research Council of National Academy of Science. Then, taking advan-tage of the geo-statistic spatial analysis function of ArcGIS, this study analyzed the assessment result data (R and HI), selected the proper interpolation approach and educed R and HI spatial distribution maps of the study area. R and HI of the single factor and integrate factors were evaluated and thus obtained the following conclusions: For one thing, the cancerous risk indexes of the vast majority of water sources (about 94%) is the level of 10-7 and it belong to the safety extension. The main carcinogen in the water sources are As, Cr6+ and Pb, their concentrations are in the ranges of 0.004-0.01, 0.005, 0.01mg/l respectively and such water source mainly distributed in Yucheng district and Mingshan county. For another, the non-cancerous hazard indexes of the vast majority of water sources (about 98%) is also less than the limit value 1 and will not harm the local residents. The health risk of non-carcinogen comes mainly from As and fluoride, their concentra-tions are in the ranges of 0.004-0.01 and 0.1-4.2mg/l respectively. The results of the integrate factors health risk assessment showed that the total cancerous risk were still at the level of 10-6, only 12 drinking water source investigation sites (5%) exceeded the drinking water management standard value of EPA (the limit value is 10-6);the total non-cancerous hazard indexes are still in the range of 10-2-10-1, and will not harm the local residents either, only 18 drinking water source investigation sites (8%) exceeded the drinking water management standard value of EPA(the limit value is 1).The densely populated areas such as Yucheng Dis-trict, Tianquan County, Yingjing County and Shimian County are where the four contaminating materials, i.e., As, Cr6+, Pb and fluoride should be monitored with emphasis. Study results disclosed the health risk control indexes of source water quality of the studied area and thus provided the scientific basis for the water quality control of water sources. This study had worked efficiently in practice. Compared with the same kind of methods which had been found, the paper had the outstanding results for the health risk assessment of the rural drinking water safety.展开更多
Tracheal stents are an important form of treatment for benign or malignant central airway obstruction.However,the mechanical behavior of current tracheal stents is significantly different from that of the native trach...Tracheal stents are an important form of treatment for benign or malignant central airway obstruction.However,the mechanical behavior of current tracheal stents is significantly different from that of the native trachea,which leads to a variety of serious complications.In this study,inspired by the structure of the native trachea,a wavy non-uniform ligament chiral tracheal stent is proposed,in which J-shaped stress-strain behavior and negative Poisson's ratio response are achieved by replacing the tangential ligament of tetrachiral and anti-tetrachiral hybrid structure with a wavy non-uniform ligament.Through the combination of theoretical analysis,finite element analysis and experimental tests,a wide range of desired J-shaped stress-strain curves are explored to mimic the native porcine trachea by tailoring the stent geometry.Besides,the negative Poisson’s ratio and auxetic diameter curves versus axial strain of the stent are also studied in detail,thus contributing to the enhancement of cross-section ventilation and reducing the migration of the stent.This novel tracheal stent with a unique microstructure shows a potential to perfectly match the physiological activities of the native trachea and thereby reduce potential complications.展开更多

METHODS: We injected different doses...AIM: To explore the more suitable concentration of glutamate or N-methyl-D-aspartic acid(NMDA) for intravitreal injection to establish a rat model of retinal neurodegeneration. METHODS: We injected different doses of glutamate(20 or 50 nmol) or NMDA(40 nmol) into the vitreous chambers of rats, then measured the concentration of glutamate and retinal thickness, quantified apoptotic cells and determined the degree of tau hyperphosphorylation at different time points. T-test was used for comparison of two groups. One-way ANOVA and Turkey's multiple comparisons test were used for comparisons of different groups, and P values below 0.05 were considered statistically significant.RESULTS: The glutamate level in the rats treated with 50 nmol of glutamate was twice that of the control group and persisted two weeks. Seven days after intravitreal injection of 50 nmol of glutamate, three parameters [inner retinal thickness(IRT), retinal thickness(RT) and ganglion cell layer(GCL) cell number] were reduced significantly. Furthermore, numerous TUNEL-positive cells were observed in the GCL one day after intravitreal injection of 50 nmol of glutamate, the expression of the apoptosisrelated factor cleaved casepase-3 was markedly increased compared with the expression levels in the other treatment groups, and the expression levels of tau s396 and tau s404 were significantly increased compared with those in the control group.CONCLUSION: This study demonstrates that the intravitreal injection of 50 nmol of glutamate can establish the more effective retinal neurodegeneration animal model relative to other treatment groups.展开更多

She presented with a 1-month history of rapidly decreased visual acuity (VA) to counting fingers in the left eye which had no prior history of visual problem. And there was no evidence of glaucoma. At 3 months after the treatment of the standard photodynannic therapy (PDT) the VA was 20/200. For some reasons, we have no idea about the changes of tumor thickness and subretinal fluid. We confirmed the curative effect of PDT treatment for CCH because of the significantly improved VA in the bad eye.展开更多
Objective:To assess the effectiveness of catheter-based renal denervation for reducing blood pressure in patients with resistant hypertension using a 5 F microtube-irrigated ablation catheter.Methods:Sixty patients wi...Objective:To assess the effectiveness of catheter-based renal denervation for reducing blood pressure in patients with resistant hypertension using a 5 F microtube-irrigated ablation catheter.Methods:Sixty patients with resistant hypertension were divided into two groups:a microtube-irrigated ablation catheter group and a general ablation catheter group.We conducted 12-month follow-up of all patients and recorded clinical blood pressure,ambulatory blood pressure,medication use,and biochemistry test results in both groups at the baseline and at the 12-month follow-up.Results:All patients underwent renal denervation.At the 6-month follow-up,ambulatory blood pressure in the mi-crotube-irrigated ablation catheter group was signifi cantly lower than in the general ablation catheter group(systolic blood pressure 142.0±14.4 mmHg vs.150.8±17.9 mmHg,P=0.04;diastolic blood pressure 81.2±7.0 mmHg vs.87.6±8.0 mmHg,P=0.002).At the 12-month follow-up,the between-group difference in ambulatory blood pressure was not statistically signifi cant.At the 12-month follow-up,the number of antihypertensive drugs and diuretics used in the microtube-irrigated ablation catheter group was less than in the general ablation catheter group(P=0.043).There was no statistical difference between the two groups in the results of biochemistry tests and echocardiography.Conclusion:The microtube-irrigated ablation catheter is more effective in treating hypertension than the general ablation catheter at the 6-month follow up and thus fewer antihypertensive drugs were used in the microtube-irrigated ablation catheter group than in the general ablation catheter group.展开更多

Objective:To study the safety and effi cacy of denervation of renal artery branches in the treatment of resistant hy-pertension.Methods:Sixty patients with resistant hypertension were enrolled.The patients were random...Objective:To study the safety and effi cacy of denervation of renal artery branches in the treatment of resistant hy-pertension.Methods:Sixty patients with resistant hypertension were enrolled.The patients were randomly assigned to the main renal artery plus branch ablation group or the main renal artery ablation group.The clinical data and operation-related parameters,including number of ablation points,temperature,and average energy,were recorded.Ambulatory blood pressure was taken for all patients at the baseline and at 6 months after treatment.Offi ce blood pressure was recorded before treatment and after treatment every 3 months for 2 years.Results:Sixty patients with resistant hypertension were enrolled in this study.There were 30 patients in each group.Angiography was performed after ablation.No renal artery complications,such as stenosis and dissection,occurred in the two groups.There was no signifi cant difference in age,sex,BMI,comorbid disease,and medication between the two groups(P>0.05).The number of ablation points for the main renal artery plus branch ablation group was greater than that for the main renal artery ablation group.The offi ce blood pressure and 24-hour blood pressure were signifi cantly lower 6 months after treatment than before treatment in both groups(P<0.05).Offi ce blood pressure in the main renal artery plus branch ablation group was lower than that in the main renal artery ablation group during the 3-12-month follow-up period,with a statistical difference.However,as the follow-up time increased,the difference disappeared.Conclusion:The results of this study show that main renal artery plus branch ablation is a safe interventional method,but there was no obvious advantage on long-term follow-up compared with only main renal artery ablation.展开更多

The specimens were made of martensitic stainless steel, X17CrNi15-2, and some of them were modified by the ceramic coating deposition surface treatment. The effects of ceramic coating, on the fatigue crack growth behaviour of hollow shaft specimens, were experimentally investigated. Fatigue crack growth rates, da/dN, were characterised, using the power law relationship between da/dN (in mm/cycle) and the stress intensity factor range, ΔK (in MPa∙m0.5). The two constants of the correlation are 7.9768 × 10−9 and 2.8107 for the parent material, and those for the coated material are 2.4391 × 10−9 and 3.1990, respectively. Microstructural analyses were carried out on the tested specimens, which shows that the maximum hardness of the ceramic coating is higher than that of substrate by a factor of ~3.2. The dimple fracture dominates the final fracture mechanism for the parent material, and the combination of fatigue, ductile fracture and cleavage dominates the final fracture mechanism for the coated material, based on the SEM analyses. EDS tests’ results reveal that the parent material specimen shows higher levels of C at matrix regions along with Fe- and O-rich regions, compared with the coated material specimen.展开更多
文摘AIM:To evaluate the long-term visual,refractive outcomes and vision-related quality of life after small incision lenticule extraction(SMILE)for the correction of high myopia.METHODS:Thirty patients(60 eyes)with high myopia who underwent SMILE more than 5y were selected as the SMILE group.Another 30 high myopia patients(60 eyes)who had worn corrective spectacles for more than 5y were selected as the control group.In SMILE group,the postoperative follow-up time were 3,6 mo,1 and 5y.Uncorrected distance visual acuity(UDVA),corrected distance visual acuity(CDVA),spherical equivalent(SE),and ocular axial length(AL)were analyzed.The Chinese version of the National Eye Institute Visual Function Questionnaire-25(CHI-NEI-VFQ-25)was used to evaluate the vision-related quality of life in the SMILE group and the control group.RESULTS:In SMILE group,the mean preoperative SE was-7.29±0.87 D(range-6.00 to-9.125 D).At 5-year follow up,the efficacy index and safety index of SMILE were 1.09±0.18 and 1.19±0.12,respectively.Five years postoperatively,44 eyes(73%)obtained a visual acuity of 20/20 or better.There were no eyes with CDVA loss of one or more Snellen lines.Forty-nine eyes(82%)and 57 eyes(95%)were within±0.50 and±1.00 D of attempted correction at 5-year follow-up,respectively.Forty-eight eyes(80%)had astigmatism<0.50 D at 5-year followup.The postoperative mean SE values at 3,6 mo,1,and 5y were 0.11±0.44,0.07±0.45,-0.02±0.41,and-0.15±0.46 D,respectively.No significant change was observed in the ocular AL from before operation to 5y postoperatively(26.08±0.96 mm vs 26.01±0.94 mm,P=0.068).Compared to the control group,the SMILE group showed a significantly higher total score on the CHI-NEI-VFQ-25(90.14 vs 81.43,P<0.001).CONCLUSION:In the present study,in a long-term follow-up we demonstrate that correcting high myopia with SMILE is safe,effective,and predictable.Vision-related quality of life after SMILE is better in the SMILE group than in the control group who wore corrective spectacles.

文摘背景:近年来,衰老相关的慢性病研究在世界范围内受到广泛关注,心脏随着年龄增长可能会出现过早衰老,运动作为一种安全健康的干预措施可以延缓其衰老。目的:观察实施规律有氧运动对心肌细胞增龄性老化的影响并探讨其机制。方法:纳入SD大鼠68只,3月龄(青年)20只,13月龄(中年)和22月龄(老年)各24只,每个年龄组再随机均分为静息组及运动组。对3个运动组实施为期10周的递增负荷有氧跑台运动,其中早期递增负荷6周,晚期恒负荷4周;3个静息组不进行有氧运动干预。干预结束后采用实时荧光定量PCR和免疫组化法检测心肌Beclin-1、Ca MKⅡα1、AMPKα1/p AMPKα1和PI3K/Akt/m TOR等通路相关蛋白与基因的表达。结果与结论:(1)实施规律有氧运动后,与青、中、老3个年龄的静息组相比,3个年龄的运动组大鼠心肌细胞自噬Beclin-1表达水平均下调;同时3个年龄的运动组大鼠心肌Ca MKⅡα1 m RNA表达水平也下调;(2)3个年龄静息组p AMPKα1和AMPKα1蛋白表达水平均呈现增龄性趋势;青年、中年和老年运动组的AMPKα1表达水平分别上调16.50%(Ρ<0.05)、63.09%(Ρ<0.01)和31.12%(Ρ<0.01);p AMPKα1表达水平也显著上调,其中青年运动组为131.29%(Ρ<0.01),中年运动组上调40.55%(Ρ<0.01),老年运动组上调16.77%(Ρ<0.05);(3)整体来看,与3个年龄静息组相比,3个年龄运动组大鼠心肌PI3K表达水平均上调,青年、中年运动组AKT1 m RNA表达水平均下调;关于m TOR m RNA表达水平,青年运动组稍下调,中年运动组变化不大,而老年运动组显著上调;(4)提示有氧运动可以显著上调老年组大鼠PI3K的表达,促进m TOR的活性,下调Ca MKⅡα1的表达,下调p AMPKα1/AMPKα1的比值,抑制Beclin-1的表达,调控心肌自噬水平,使其趋向于正常稳定状态,从而延缓心肌衰老。

文摘The limited penetration of photons in biological tissue restricts the deep-tissue detection and imaging application.The micro-scale spatially offset Raman spectroscopy(micro-SORS)with an optical fiber probe,colleting photons from deeper regions by offsetting the position of laser excitation from the collection optics in a range of hundreds of microns,shows great potential to be integrated with endoscopy for inside-body noninvasive detection by circumventing this restric-tion,particularly with the combination of surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy(SERS).However,a detailed tissue penetration study of micro-SORS in combination with SERS is still lacking.Herein,we compared the signal decay of enhanced Raman nanotags through the tissue phantom of agarose gel and the biological tissue of porcine muscle in the near-infrared(NIR)region using a portable Raman spectrometer with a micro-SORS probe(2.1 mm in diameter)and a conventional hand-held probe(9.7mm in diameter).Two kinds of Raman nanotags were prepared from gold nanorods decorated with the nonresonant(4-nitrobenzenethiol)or resonant Raman reporter molecules(IR-780 iodide).The SERS measurements show that the penetration depths of two Raman nanotags are both over 2 cm in agarose gel and 3 mm in porcine muscle.The depth could be improved to over 4 cm in agarose gel and 5 mm in porcine tissue when using the micro-SORS system.This demonstrates the superiority of optical-fiber micro-SORS system over the conventional Raman detection for the detection of nanotags in deeper layers in the turbid medium and biological tissue,offering the possibility of combining the micro-SORS technique with SERS for noninvasive in vivo endoscopy-integrated clinical application.
文摘Taking Rain City District of Ya’an for example, this paper based on ComGIS (Component Object Model Geographic Information System) platform takes comprehensive and systematic detection on the exposure dose of chemical carcinogens and non-carcinogens from drinking water sources in this region and discusses health risk assessment of single factor and the whole health risk assessment. As, Hg, Cr, Pb, Cd and fluorides in some drinking water sources of Rain City District are analyzed according to Standards For Drinking Wa-ter Quality (GB5749-2006). A health risk assessment model called USEPA is also applied to drinking water health risk assessment and management countermeasure is proposed. The results show that the greatest health risk for individual person per year is caused by Cr(VI). The health risk of carcinogens is much higher than that of non-carcinogens: the greatest risk value due to non-carcinogen pollutants is caused by fluoride (F), achieving 1.05×10-8/a. The ranking of risk values due to non-carcinogen pollutants by drinking water is Pb>fluoride (F)>Hg, within Pb accounting for 44.77%, fluo-ride (F) accounting for 34.30% and Hg accounting for 20.92%. The average individual carcinogenesis annual risk of Cr(VI) is the greatest, achieving 8.91×10-4/a. The ranking of risk value due to chemical carcinogen by rural drinking water of Ya’an is Cr6+>As>Cd, within Cr6+ accounting for 91.12%, As accounting for 5.89% and Cd accounting for 3.00%. Based on this, the strategy and measures of the health risk management are put forward. This study has worked efficiently in practice. Compared with the same kind of methods which have been found, the paper has the outstanding results for the health risk assessment of the rural drinking water safety.

文摘To address the issue that B_(4)C ceramics are difficult to be wetted by aluminum metals in the composites,TiB_(2)was introduced via an in-situ reaction between TiH_(2)and B_(4)C to regulate their wettability and interfacial bonding.By pressure infiltration of the molten alloy into the freeze-cast porous ceramic skeleton,the 2024Al/B_(4)C-TiB_(2)composites with a laminate-reticular hierarchical structure were produced.Compared with 2024Al/B_(4)C composite,adding initial TiH_(2)improved the flexural strength and valid fracture toughness from(484±27)to(665±30)MPa and(19.3±1.5)to(32.7±1.8)MPa·m^(1/2),respectively.This exceptional damage resistance ability was derived from multiple extrinsic toughening mechanisms including uncracked-ligament bridging,crack branching,crack propagation and crack blunting,and more importantly,the fracture model transition from single to multiple crack propagation.This strategy opens a pathway for improving the wettability and interfacial bonding of Al/B_(4)C composites,and thus produces nacre-inspired materials with optimized damage tolerance.

文摘Opium poppy(Papaver somniferum)is a source of morphine,codeine,and semisynthetic derivatives,including oxycodone and naltrexone.Here,we report the de novo assembly and genomic analysis of P.somniferum traditional landrace‘Chinese Herbal Medicine’.Variations between the 2.62 Gb CHM genome and that of the previously sequenced high noscapine 1(HN1)variety were also explored.Among 79,668 protein-coding genes,we functionally annotated 88.9%,compared to 68.8%reported in the HN1 genome.Gene family and 4DTv comparative analyses with three other Papaveraceae species revealed that opium poppy underwent two whole-genome duplication(WGD)events.The first of these,in ancestral Ranunculales,expanded gene families related to characteristic secondary metabolite production and disease resistance.The more recent species-specific WGD mediated by transposable elements resulted in massive genome expansion.Genes carrying structural variations and large-effect variants associated with agronomically different phenotypes between CHM and HN1 that were identified through our transcriptomic comparison of multiple organs and developmental stages can enable the development of new varieties.These genomic and transcriptomic analyses will provide a valuable resource that informs future basic and agricultural studies of the opium poppy.

文摘Performance breakthrough of electrocatalysts highly relies on the regulation of internal structures and electronic states.In present work,for the first time,we successfully synthesized nitrogen doped FeS_(2) nanoparticles(N-FeS_(2))as the electrocatalysts for hydrogen evolution reaction(HER).The band structure and electronic state of FeS_(2) are modulated by a nitrogen doping strategy,as confirmed by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS),X-ray absorption spectroscopy(XAS)and density functional theory(DFT)calculations.Owing to the band structure and electronic state regulation as well as the weakening of H-S interaction,the designed N-FeS_(2) electrocatalyst exhibits superior catalytic performance with a low overpotential(~126 mV at 10 mA cm^(-2))and excellent activity stability under alkaline conditions,which is substantially improved as compared with that of the pure FeS_(2) counterpart.Our work demonstrates that the modulation of electron state and band structure of an electrocatalyst,which can provide a valuable guidance for designing excellent catalysts for hydrogen evolution reaction and beyond.
文摘Aiming at the unsafe of water quality which is the core problem in rural drinking water safety, the study col-lected 221 water samples of rural drinking water sources in Ya'an and detected the concentrations of the car-cinogen and the non-carcinogen. Based on the analysis of water environment characteristics and the identifi-cation of water environment health risk source of Sichuan Ya’an City, which includes seven counties and a district and is the typical region of the western margin of Sichuan Basin, this study calculated and analyzed the carcinogenic risk (R) and non-carcinogenic risk (hazard index, HI) by applying the health risk model recommended by the US National Research Council of National Academy of Science. Then, taking advan-tage of the geo-statistic spatial analysis function of ArcGIS, this study analyzed the assessment result data (R and HI), selected the proper interpolation approach and educed R and HI spatial distribution maps of the study area. R and HI of the single factor and integrate factors were evaluated and thus obtained the following conclusions: For one thing, the cancerous risk indexes of the vast majority of water sources (about 94%) is the level of 10-7 and it belong to the safety extension. The main carcinogen in the water sources are As, Cr6+ and Pb, their concentrations are in the ranges of 0.004-0.01, 0.005, 0.01mg/l respectively and such water source mainly distributed in Yucheng district and Mingshan county. For another, the non-cancerous hazard indexes of the vast majority of water sources (about 98%) is also less than the limit value 1 and will not harm the local residents. The health risk of non-carcinogen comes mainly from As and fluoride, their concentra-tions are in the ranges of 0.004-0.01 and 0.1-4.2mg/l respectively. The results of the integrate factors health risk assessment showed that the total cancerous risk were still at the level of 10-6, only 12 drinking water source investigation sites (5%) exceeded the drinking water management standard value of EPA (the limit value is 10-6);the total non-cancerous hazard indexes are still in the range of 10-2-10-1, and will not harm the local residents either, only 18 drinking water source investigation sites (8%) exceeded the drinking water management standard value of EPA(the limit value is 1).The densely populated areas such as Yucheng Dis-trict, Tianquan County, Yingjing County and Shimian County are where the four contaminating materials, i.e., As, Cr6+, Pb and fluoride should be monitored with emphasis. Study results disclosed the health risk control indexes of source water quality of the studied area and thus provided the scientific basis for the water quality control of water sources. This study had worked efficiently in practice. Compared with the same kind of methods which had been found, the paper had the outstanding results for the health risk assessment of the rural drinking water safety.

文摘Tracheal stents are an important form of treatment for benign or malignant central airway obstruction.However,the mechanical behavior of current tracheal stents is significantly different from that of the native trachea,which leads to a variety of serious complications.In this study,inspired by the structure of the native trachea,a wavy non-uniform ligament chiral tracheal stent is proposed,in which J-shaped stress-strain behavior and negative Poisson's ratio response are achieved by replacing the tangential ligament of tetrachiral and anti-tetrachiral hybrid structure with a wavy non-uniform ligament.Through the combination of theoretical analysis,finite element analysis and experimental tests,a wide range of desired J-shaped stress-strain curves are explored to mimic the native porcine trachea by tailoring the stent geometry.Besides,the negative Poisson’s ratio and auxetic diameter curves versus axial strain of the stent are also studied in detail,thus contributing to the enhancement of cross-section ventilation and reducing the migration of the stent.This novel tracheal stent with a unique microstructure shows a potential to perfectly match the physiological activities of the native trachea and thereby reduce potential complications.

文摘AIM: To explore the more suitable concentration of glutamate or N-methyl-D-aspartic acid(NMDA) for intravitreal injection to establish a rat model of retinal neurodegeneration. METHODS: We injected different doses of glutamate(20 or 50 nmol) or NMDA(40 nmol) into the vitreous chambers of rats, then measured the concentration of glutamate and retinal thickness, quantified apoptotic cells and determined the degree of tau hyperphosphorylation at different time points. T-test was used for comparison of two groups. One-way ANOVA and Turkey's multiple comparisons test were used for comparisons of different groups, and P values below 0.05 were considered statistically significant.RESULTS: The glutamate level in the rats treated with 50 nmol of glutamate was twice that of the control group and persisted two weeks. Seven days after intravitreal injection of 50 nmol of glutamate, three parameters [inner retinal thickness(IRT), retinal thickness(RT) and ganglion cell layer(GCL) cell number] were reduced significantly. Furthermore, numerous TUNEL-positive cells were observed in the GCL one day after intravitreal injection of 50 nmol of glutamate, the expression of the apoptosisrelated factor cleaved casepase-3 was markedly increased compared with the expression levels in the other treatment groups, and the expression levels of tau s396 and tau s404 were significantly increased compared with those in the control group.CONCLUSION: This study demonstrates that the intravitreal injection of 50 nmol of glutamate can establish the more effective retinal neurodegeneration animal model relative to other treatment groups.
文摘We present a case of circumscribed choroidal hemangioma (CCH) in Sturge-Weber syndrome in a 30-year-old woman with congenital port-wine stains on the left side of face involving the upper eyelid, cheek and the nose, and she had undergone facial hemangioma surgery 3 years ago suggestive of Sturge-Weber syndrome. She presented with a 1-month history of rapidly decreased visual acuity (VA) to counting fingers in the left eye which had no prior history of visual problem. And there was no evidence of glaucoma. At 3 months after the treatment of the standard photodynannic therapy (PDT) the VA was 20/200. For some reasons, we have no idea about the changes of tumor thickness and subretinal fluid. We confirmed the curative effect of PDT treatment for CCH because of the significantly improved VA in the bad eye.

文摘Objective:To assess the effectiveness of catheter-based renal denervation for reducing blood pressure in patients with resistant hypertension using a 5 F microtube-irrigated ablation catheter.Methods:Sixty patients with resistant hypertension were divided into two groups:a microtube-irrigated ablation catheter group and a general ablation catheter group.We conducted 12-month follow-up of all patients and recorded clinical blood pressure,ambulatory blood pressure,medication use,and biochemistry test results in both groups at the baseline and at the 12-month follow-up.Results:All patients underwent renal denervation.At the 6-month follow-up,ambulatory blood pressure in the mi-crotube-irrigated ablation catheter group was signifi cantly lower than in the general ablation catheter group(systolic blood pressure 142.0±14.4 mmHg vs.150.8±17.9 mmHg,P=0.04;diastolic blood pressure 81.2±7.0 mmHg vs.87.6±8.0 mmHg,P=0.002).At the 12-month follow-up,the between-group difference in ambulatory blood pressure was not statistically signifi cant.At the 12-month follow-up,the number of antihypertensive drugs and diuretics used in the microtube-irrigated ablation catheter group was less than in the general ablation catheter group(P=0.043).There was no statistical difference between the two groups in the results of biochemistry tests and echocardiography.Conclusion:The microtube-irrigated ablation catheter is more effective in treating hypertension than the general ablation catheter at the 6-month follow up and thus fewer antihypertensive drugs were used in the microtube-irrigated ablation catheter group than in the general ablation catheter group.

文摘Objective:To study the safety and effi cacy of denervation of renal artery branches in the treatment of resistant hy-pertension.Methods:Sixty patients with resistant hypertension were enrolled.The patients were randomly assigned to the main renal artery plus branch ablation group or the main renal artery ablation group.The clinical data and operation-related parameters,including number of ablation points,temperature,and average energy,were recorded.Ambulatory blood pressure was taken for all patients at the baseline and at 6 months after treatment.Offi ce blood pressure was recorded before treatment and after treatment every 3 months for 2 years.Results:Sixty patients with resistant hypertension were enrolled in this study.There were 30 patients in each group.Angiography was performed after ablation.No renal artery complications,such as stenosis and dissection,occurred in the two groups.There was no signifi cant difference in age,sex,BMI,comorbid disease,and medication between the two groups(P>0.05).The number of ablation points for the main renal artery plus branch ablation group was greater than that for the main renal artery ablation group.The offi ce blood pressure and 24-hour blood pressure were signifi cantly lower 6 months after treatment than before treatment in both groups(P<0.05).Offi ce blood pressure in the main renal artery plus branch ablation group was lower than that in the main renal artery ablation group during the 3-12-month follow-up period,with a statistical difference.However,as the follow-up time increased,the difference disappeared.Conclusion:The results of this study show that main renal artery plus branch ablation is a safe interventional method,but there was no obvious advantage on long-term follow-up compared with only main renal artery ablation.
文摘Fatigue crack growth tests were carried out on the SEN B3 precracked specimens, with dimensions in accordance with ISO 12108 requirements. The specimens were made of martensitic stainless steel, X17CrNi15-2, and some of them were modified by the ceramic coating deposition surface treatment. The effects of ceramic coating, on the fatigue crack growth behaviour of hollow shaft specimens, were experimentally investigated. Fatigue crack growth rates, da/dN, were characterised, using the power law relationship between da/dN (in mm/cycle) and the stress intensity factor range, ΔK (in MPa∙m0.5). The two constants of the correlation are 7.9768 × 10−9 and 2.8107 for the parent material, and those for the coated material are 2.4391 × 10−9 and 3.1990, respectively. Microstructural analyses were carried out on the tested specimens, which shows that the maximum hardness of the ceramic coating is higher than that of substrate by a factor of ~3.2. The dimple fracture dominates the final fracture mechanism for the parent material, and the combination of fatigue, ductile fracture and cleavage dominates the final fracture mechanism for the coated material, based on the SEM analyses. EDS tests’ results reveal that the parent material specimen shows higher levels of C at matrix regions along with Fe- and O-rich regions, compared with the coated material specimen.
