A symmetrically shaped flat–flat cavity with two identi...A high-performance LED-side-pumped two-rod Nd,Ce:YAG laser with continuous-wave(CW) and acousto–optical(A-O) Q-switched operation is demonstrated in this work. A symmetrically shaped flat–flat cavity with two identical LEDside-pumped laser modules is employed for power scalability. In the CW regime, the maximum output average power of laser at 1064 nm is 4.41 W, corresponding to a maximum optical conversion efficiency of 5.3% and a slope efficiency is 12.4%. In the active Q-switched regime, the pulse energy of laser reaches as high as 0.89 m J at a repetition rate of 800 Hz with a pulse width of 457.2 ns, the corresponding highest peak output power is 1.94 k W and the M~2 factor is measured to be about 8.8. To the best of the authors' knowledge, this is the first demonstration and the highest performance of a CW LED-side-pumped two-rod laser Nd,Ce:YAG with Watt-level output reported so far.展开更多

We report on the fabrication and properties of an optical waveguide in Nd^(3+)-doped phosphate glass.The planar waveguide was obtained by 550-ke V proton implantation with a dose of 8.0×10^(16)ions/cm^(2).The pro...We report on the fabrication and properties of an optical waveguide in Nd^(3+)-doped phosphate glass.The planar waveguide was obtained by 550-ke V proton implantation with a dose of 8.0×10^(16)ions/cm^(2).The proton–glass interaction was simulated by the stopping and range of ions in matter(SRIM software).The characteristics of the waveguide including the refractive index profile and the near-field intensity distribution were studied by the reflectivity calculation method and the end-face coupling technique.The optical waveguide demonstrated multi-mode behavior at the wavelength of 632.8 nm.The propagation features of the proton-implanted Nd^(3+)-doped phosphate glass waveguide shows its potential to operate as an integrated photonic device.展开更多
Objective To describe the epidemiologic characteristics of leprosy in China and to provide evidence for making specific strategies in the leprosy control programme.Methods We used a descriptive analysis method to anal...Objective To describe the epidemiologic characteristics of leprosy in China and to provide evidence for making specific strategies in the leprosy control programme.Methods We used a descriptive analysis method to analyse the leprosy data from 2017 provided by the Leprosy Management Information System in China (LEPMIS) covering all the provinces of China excluding Hong Kong,Macao,and Taiwan.Results In 2017,634 newly detected cases of leprosy were reported,with a case detection rate of 0.046 per 100,000 individuals.The proportions of cases in children under 15,multi-bacillary cases,and cases with grade 2 disability were 1.4%,91.8%,and 20.0%,respectively.A total of 52 relapse cases,among which 28 cases occurred after multi-drug therapy,were reported.By the end of 2017,the total number of registered cases was 2,697,with a prevalence rate of 0.194 per 100,000 individuals.Conclusion In China,the overall leprosy prevalence is still at a low level,but its distribution is unbalanced,with higher incidence in Yunnan,Sichuan,Guizhou,Guangdong.To continue making progress toward eliminating leprosy,control efforts must be sustained over the coming years.展开更多
