The control diet(CON) group and free high-fat diet(FFAT) group were allowed ad libitum access to a normal chow diet and a highfat diet, respectively. The restrictive high-fat diet(RFAT) group, restrictive high-sugar diet(RSUG) group, and high-protein diet(PRO) group were fed a highfat diet, a high-sugar diet, and a high-protein diet, respectively, in an isocaloric way. All rats were killed at 12 wk. Body weight, visceral fat index(visceral fat/body weight), liver index(liver/body weight), insulin resistance, portal lipopolysaccharide(LPS), serum alanine aminotransferase(ALT), serum aspartate aminotransferase(AST), and liver triglycerides were measured. The intestinal microbiota in the different groups of rats was sequenced using high-throughput sequencing technology.RESULTS The FFAT group had higher body weight, visceral fat index, liver index, peripheral insulin resistance, portal LPS, serum ALT, serum AST, and liver triglycerides compared with all other groups(P < 0.05). Taking the same calories, the RFAT and RSUG groups demonstrated increased body weight, visceral fat index, peripheral insulin resistance and liver triglycerides compared with the PRO group(P < 0.05). The RFAT group also showed increased portal LPS compared with the PRO group(P < 0.05). Unweighted Uni Frac principal coordinates analysis of the sequencing data revealed that the intestinal microbiota structures of the CON, FFAT, RSUG and PRO groups were roughly separated away from each other. Taxon-based analysis showed that, compared with the CON group, the FFAT group had an increased abundance of Firmicutes, Roseburia and Oscillospira bacteria, a higher ratio of Firmicutes to Bacteroidetes, and a decreased abundance of Bacteroidetes, Bacteroides and Parabacteroides bacteria(P < 0.05). The RFAT group showed an increased abundance of Firmicutes and decreased abundance of Parabacteroides bacteria(P < 0.05). The RSUG group showed an increased abundance of Bacteroidetes and Sutterella bacteria, higher ratio of Bacteroidetes to Firmicutes, and a decreased abundance of Firmicutes(P < 0.05). The PRO group showed an increased abundance of Bacteroidetes, Prevotella, Oscillospira and Sutterella bacteria, and a decreased abundance of Firmicutes(P < 0.05). Compared with the FFAT group, the RFAT group had an increased abundance of Bacteroidetes, higher ratio of Bacteroidetes to Firmicutes, and decreased abundance of Firmicutes and Oscillospira bacteria(P < 0.05).CONCLUSION Compared with the high-protein diet, the NAFLDinducing effects of high-fat and high-sugar diets are independent from calories, and may be associated with changed intestinal microbiota.展开更多
To reduce medication for patients with ulcerative colitis(UC),we need to establish the etiology of UC.The intestinal microbiota of patients with inflammatory bowel disease(IBD)has been shown to differ from that of hea...To reduce medication for patients with ulcerative colitis(UC),we need to establish the etiology of UC.The intestinal microbiota of patients with inflammatory bowel disease(IBD)has been shown to differ from that of healthy controls and abundant data indicate that it changes in both composition and localization.Small intestinal bacterial overgrowth is significantly higher in IBD patients compared with controls.Probiotics have been investigated for their capacity to reduce the severity of UC.The luminal surfaces of the gastrointestinal tract are covered by a mucus layer.This normally acts as a barrier that does not allow bacteria to reach the epithelial cells and thus limits the direct contact between the host and the bacteria.The mucus layer in the colon comprises an inner layer that is firmly adherent to the intestinal mucosa,and an outer layer that can be washed off with minimal rinsing.Some bacteria can dissolve the protective inner mucus layer.Defects in renewal and formation of the inner mucus layer allow bacteria to reach the epithelium and have implications for the causes of colitis.In this review,important elements of UC pathology are thought to be the intestinal bacteria,gut mucus,and the mucosa-associated immune system.展开更多
BACKGROUND Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD)is a common chronic liver disease worldwide.However,to date,there is no ideal therapy for this disease.AIM To study the effects of Si-Ni-San freeze-dried powder on hi...BACKGROUND Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD)is a common chronic liver disease worldwide.However,to date,there is no ideal therapy for this disease.AIM To study the effects of Si-Ni-San freeze-dried powder on high fat diet-induced NAFLD in mice.METHODS Twenty-four male C57BL/6 mice were randomized into three groups of eight.The control group(CON)was allowed ad libitum access to a normal chow diet.The high fat diet group(FAT)and Si-Ni-San group(SNS)were allowed ad libitum access to a high fat diet.The SNS group was intragastrically administered Si-Ni-San freeze-dried powder(5.0 g/kg)once daily,and the CON and FAT groups were intragastrically administered distilled water.After 12 wk,body weight,liver index,visceral fat index,serum alanine aminotransferase(ALT),portal lipopoly-saccharide(LPS),liver tumor necrosis factor(TNF)-αand liver triglycerides were measured.Intestinal microbiota were analyzed using a 16S r DNA sequencing technique.RESULTS Compared with the FAT group,the SNS group exhibited decreased body weight,liver index,visceral fat index,serum ALT,portal LPS,liver TNF-αand liver triglycerides(P<0.05).Intestinal microbiota analysis showed that the SNS group had different bacterial composition and function compared with the FAT group.In particular,Oscillospira genus was a bacterial biomarker of SNS group samples.CONCLUSION The beneficial effects of Si-Ni-San freeze-dried powder on high fat diet-induced NAFLD in mice may be associated with its anti-inflammatory and changing intestinal microbiota effects.展开更多

In thi...The normal T6 heat treatment process for cast A356 alloy generally requires about 15 h. This longperiod procedure increases greatly the manufacturing cost and decreases the productivity in practical production. In this study, a new short-time heat treatment process with only 30 min solution time at 540℃ was developed for the production of motorcycle wheel hubs in order to reduce heat treatment time. Comparisons on microstructure evaluation and mechanical properties, such as tensile strength and ductility, were made between this new fast process and the conventional T6 heat treatment. The results revealed that this new heat treatment process enabled the spheroidization of the eutectic silicon thoroughly, while minimizing the growth of eutectic silicon. The A356 alloy after this new short-time heat treatment shows nearly equal mechanical properties compared with the same alloy heat treated in a normal T6 heat treatment. This investigation makes it possible to significantly improve the efficiency of heat treatment on A356 alloy and, at the same time, improve the mechanical properties of the alloy.展开更多

Methods The stability o.f cupric ion releasing o.f IUDs including TCu 380.4 IUD (TCu 380A), Multiload Cu375 IUD (MCu 375) and Yuangong 365 copper-bearing indomethacin-releasing IUD (Yuangong 365) by the determination of cupric ion releasing in simulated uterine fluid. The simulated uterine fluid was used for releasing media. Copper ion was determined by flame atomic absorption spectrometer. Results The cupric ion releasing of three IUDs were instable at the beginning and tend to be stable gradually. In the stable phase, the average level of cupric ion releasing of TCu380A, MCu375 and Yuangong 365 were 4.25±2.71-7.62±6.42 μg, 4.92±1.23 -8.62±3.08 μg and 2.19±0.40-4.68±1.66 μg, respectively. TCu380A had higher instable releasing level than those of Yuangong 365 (P〈0. 05). Conclusion TCu 380.4 and MCu 375 showed a "burst release" during the first few days and the.former was of great significance(P〈0.05). The initial cupric ion releasing of Yuangong 365 appeared to be the lowest, followed by MCu375 and TCu380A in a releasing order展开更多
The work aims to investigate the in vitro release,pharmacokinetics(PK),pharmacodynamics(PD)and PK-PD relationships of Salvianolic Acid B micro-porous osmotic pump pellets(SalB-MPOPs)in angina pectoris New Zealand Whit...The work aims to investigate the in vitro release,pharmacokinetics(PK),pharmacodynamics(PD)and PK-PD relationships of Salvianolic Acid B micro-porous osmotic pump pellets(SalB-MPOPs)in angina pectoris New Zealand White(NZW)rabbits,compared with those of SalB immediate-release pellets(SalB-IRPs).The SalB plasma concentrations and Superoxide dismutase levels(PD index)were recorded continuously at predetermined time interval after administration,and the related parameters were calculated by using Win-Nonlin software.The release profile of MPOPs was more sustained than that of IRPs.PK results indicated that the mean C_(max) was significantly lower,the SalB plasma concentrations were steadier,both area under concentration-time curve from 0 to 24 h(AUC_(0-24 h))and from 0 to infinity(AUC_(0-∞))were presented larger,and both the peak concentration time(T_(max))and mean residence time(MRT)were prolonged for MPOPs,as compared with those of IRPs.PD results suggested that peak drug effect(E_(max))was lower and the equilibration rate constant(k_(e0))between the central compartment and the effect compartment was higher of MPOPs vs.those of IRPs.PKePD relationships demonstrated that the effectconcentration-time(ECT)course of MPOPs was clockwise hysteresis loop,and that of IRPs was counter-clockwise hysteresis loop.Collectively,those results demonstrated that MPOPs were potential formulations in treating angina pectoris induced by atherosclerosis.展开更多

The temperature among the laser stripes varies by more than 5 K if the stripes are equally arranged, and can be reduced to less than 0.4 K if proper arrangement is designed. Sodium-ion batteries have received a surge of interests for the alternatives to lithium-ion batteries due to their abundant reserves and low cost.The quest of reliable and high-performance cathode materials is crucial...Sodium-ion batteries have received a surge of interests for the alternatives to lithium-ion batteries due to their abundant reserves and low cost.The quest of reliable and high-performance cathode materials is crucial to future Na storage technologies.Herein,poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene)(PEDOT)was successfully introduced to NaV3O8 via in situ oxidation polymerization,which can effectively enhance electron conductivity and ionic diffusion of NaV3O8 material.As a result,these NaV3O8@-PEDOT composites exhibit a significantly improved electrochemical performance including cycle stability and rate performance.In particular,NaV3O8@20 wt%PEDOT composite demonstrates better dispersibility and lower charge transfer resistance compared with bare NaV3O8,which delivers the first discharge capacity of 142 mAh-g-1and holds about 128.7 mAh·g-1 after 300 cycles at a current density of 120 mA·g-1.Even at a high current density of 300 mA·g-1,a high reversible capacity of 99.6 mAh·g-1 is revealed.All these consequences suggest that NaV3O8@20 wt%PEDOT composite may be a promising candidate to serve as a high-rate and long-lifespan cathode material for sodium-ion batteries.展开更多
The objectives of this study are to conduct a comprehensive literature search and bibliometric analysis to identify the breadth and volume of pharmacological and clinical studies on pine pollen(Pinus pollen)and to ide...The objectives of this study are to conduct a comprehensive literature search and bibliometric analysis to identify the breadth and volume of pharmacological and clinical studies on pine pollen(Pinus pollen)and to identify the potential effects and the use of pine pollen.Three Chinese electronic databases and two English electronic databases were searched for pharmacological and clinical studies on pine pollen.Data were extracted and analyzed and included publication year,authors,study type,pharmacological research topics or clinical diseases/conditions,usage and type of preparation,authors’conclusions,and adverse effects.Of 239 publications identified,180 were pharmacological studies,37 were clinical trials,and 22 were reviews.Numbers of publications increased particularly from 2004 onward.The top 10 most frequent topics in pharmacological studies were immune regulation,antisenility,antioxidation,liver protection,inhibiting prostate hyperplasia,inhibiting tumor cell proliferation,lowering blood glucose,lowering blood lipids,antifatigue,and improving intestinal function.The top 10 most frequent clinical diseases treated or where pine pollen was used as an adjuvant were bedsores,diaper dermatitis,hyperlipidemia,oral mucositis,eczema,hyperplasia of prostate,hypertension,prostatitis,type 2 diabetes mellitus,and radiodermatitis.Eight trials reported no adverse events associated with pine pollen,one reported mild gastrointestinal reactions,but symptoms disappeared without special management.There have been an increasing number of publications on pine pollen during the past 20 years.Pharmacological studies have shown many potential benefits,and clinical studies have indicated some positive effects when it is either used as a single herb or as an adjuvant to treat disease.Its use as a topical agent,especially for skin diseases,was notable.展开更多
Semiconductor vertical-cavity surface-emitting lasers(VCSELs)with wavelengths from 491.8 to 565.7 nm,covering most of the‘green gap’,are demonstrated.For these lasers,the same quantum dot(QD)active region was used,w...Semiconductor vertical-cavity surface-emitting lasers(VCSELs)with wavelengths from 491.8 to 565.7 nm,covering most of the‘green gap’,are demonstrated.For these lasers,the same quantum dot(QD)active region was used,whereas the wavelength was controlled by adjusting the cavity length,which is difficult for edge-emitting lasers.Compared with reports in the literature for green VCSELs,our lasers have set a few world records for the lowest threshold,longest wavelength and continuous-wave(CW)lasing at room temperature.The nanoscale QDs contribute dominantly to the low threshold.The emitting wavelength depends on the electron–photon interaction or the coupling between the active layer and the optical field,which is modulated by the cavity length.The green VCSELs exhibit a low-thermal resistance of 915 kW^(−1),which benefits the CW lasing.Such VCSELs are important for small-size,low power consumption full-color displays and projectors.展开更多

In the stable phase, the average level of cupric ion releasing of TCu380A, MCu375 and Yuangong 365 were 4.25±2.71-7.62±6.42 μg, 4.92±1.23 -8.62±3.08 μg and 2.19±0.40-4.68±1.66 μg, respectively. TCu380A had higher instable releasing level than those of Yuangong 365 (P〈0. 05). Conclusion TCu 380.4 and MCu 375 showed a "burst release" during the first few days and the.former was of great significance(P〈0.05). The initial cupric ion releasing of Yuangong 365 appeared to be the lowest, followed by MCu375 and TCu380A in a releasing order

文摘The work aims to investigate the in vitro release,pharmacokinetics(PK),pharmacodynamics(PD)and PK-PD relationships of Salvianolic Acid B micro-porous osmotic pump pellets(SalB-MPOPs)in angina pectoris New Zealand White(NZW)rabbits,compared with those of SalB immediate-release pellets(SalB-IRPs).The SalB plasma concentrations and Superoxide dismutase levels(PD index)were recorded continuously at predetermined time interval after administration,and the related parameters were calculated by using Win-Nonlin software.The release profile of MPOPs was more sustained than that of IRPs.PK results indicated that the mean C_(max) was significantly lower,the SalB plasma concentrations were steadier,both area under concentration-time curve from 0 to 24 h(AUC_(0-24 h))and from 0 to infinity(AUC_(0-∞))were presented larger,and both the peak concentration time(T_(max))and mean residence time(MRT)were prolonged for MPOPs,as compared with those of IRPs.PD results suggested that peak drug effect(E_(max))was lower and the equilibration rate constant(k_(e0))between the central compartment and the effect compartment was higher of MPOPs vs.those of IRPs.PKePD relationships demonstrated that the effectconcentration-time(ECT)course of MPOPs was clockwise hysteresis loop,and that of IRPs was counter-clockwise hysteresis loop.Collectively,those results demonstrated that MPOPs were potential formulations in treating angina pectoris induced by atherosclerosis.

文摘DEAR EDITOR,Recent studies have shown that the closely related cinereous tit(Parus cinereus)and green-backed tit(P.monticolus)in China display strong egg recognition ability in contrast to tit species in Europe,which lack such ability.However,egg recognition in other populations of cinereous and greenbacked tits and additional Paridae species still requires further research.

文摘Thermal characteristics of multiple laser stripes integrated into one chip is investigated theoretically in this paper. The temperature pattern of the laser diode mini-array packaged in a TO-can is analyzed and optimized to achieve a uniform temperature distribution among the laser stripes and along the cavity direction. The temperature among the laser stripes varies by more than 5 K if the stripes are equally arranged, and can be reduced to less than 0.4 K if proper arrangement is designed. For conventional submount structure, the temperature variation along the cavity direction is as high as 7 K, while for an optimized trapezoid submount structure, the temperature varies only within 0.5 K.

文摘Sodium-ion batteries have received a surge of interests for the alternatives to lithium-ion batteries due to their abundant reserves and low cost.The quest of reliable and high-performance cathode materials is crucial to future Na storage technologies.Herein,poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene)(PEDOT)was successfully introduced to NaV3O8 via in situ oxidation polymerization,which can effectively enhance electron conductivity and ionic diffusion of NaV3O8 material.As a result,these NaV3O8@-PEDOT composites exhibit a significantly improved electrochemical performance including cycle stability and rate performance.In particular,NaV3O8@20 wt%PEDOT composite demonstrates better dispersibility and lower charge transfer resistance compared with bare NaV3O8,which delivers the first discharge capacity of 142 mAh-g-1and holds about 128.7 mAh·g-1 after 300 cycles at a current density of 120 mA·g-1.Even at a high current density of 300 mA·g-1,a high reversible capacity of 99.6 mAh·g-1 is revealed.All these consequences suggest that NaV3O8@20 wt%PEDOT composite may be a promising candidate to serve as a high-rate and long-lifespan cathode material for sodium-ion batteries.

文摘The objectives of this study are to conduct a comprehensive literature search and bibliometric analysis to identify the breadth and volume of pharmacological and clinical studies on pine pollen(Pinus pollen)and to identify the potential effects and the use of pine pollen.Three Chinese electronic databases and two English electronic databases were searched for pharmacological and clinical studies on pine pollen.Data were extracted and analyzed and included publication year,authors,study type,pharmacological research topics or clinical diseases/conditions,usage and type of preparation,authors’conclusions,and adverse effects.Of 239 publications identified,180 were pharmacological studies,37 were clinical trials,and 22 were reviews.Numbers of publications increased particularly from 2004 onward.The top 10 most frequent topics in pharmacological studies were immune regulation,antisenility,antioxidation,liver protection,inhibiting prostate hyperplasia,inhibiting tumor cell proliferation,lowering blood glucose,lowering blood lipids,antifatigue,and improving intestinal function.The top 10 most frequent clinical diseases treated or where pine pollen was used as an adjuvant were bedsores,diaper dermatitis,hyperlipidemia,oral mucositis,eczema,hyperplasia of prostate,hypertension,prostatitis,type 2 diabetes mellitus,and radiodermatitis.Eight trials reported no adverse events associated with pine pollen,one reported mild gastrointestinal reactions,but symptoms disappeared without special management.There have been an increasing number of publications on pine pollen during the past 20 years.Pharmacological studies have shown many potential benefits,and clinical studies have indicated some positive effects when it is either used as a single herb or as an adjuvant to treat disease.Its use as a topical agent,especially for skin diseases,was notable.

文摘Semiconductor vertical-cavity surface-emitting lasers(VCSELs)with wavelengths from 491.8 to 565.7 nm,covering most of the‘green gap’,are demonstrated.For these lasers,the same quantum dot(QD)active region was used,whereas the wavelength was controlled by adjusting the cavity length,which is difficult for edge-emitting lasers.Compared with reports in the literature for green VCSELs,our lasers have set a few world records for the lowest threshold,longest wavelength and continuous-wave(CW)lasing at room temperature.The nanoscale QDs contribute dominantly to the low threshold.The emitting wavelength depends on the electron–photon interaction or the coupling between the active layer and the optical field,which is modulated by the cavity length.The green VCSELs exhibit a low-thermal resistance of 915 kW^(−1),which benefits the CW lasing.Such VCSELs are important for small-size,low power consumption full-color displays and projectors.
