Tianwen-1 is China's first independent interplanetary exploration mission, targeting Mars, and includes orbiting, landing, and rover phases.Similar to previous Mars missions, the Tianwen-1 orbiter was designed for polar orbits during the scientific mission period but has an exceptional eccentricity of approximately 0.59.We provide the first independent eight-degree Martian gravity field model in this paper, which was developed exclusively by a team working in China with our independent software as well, based on about two months of radiometric Doppler and range data from only the Tianwen-1 mission. This model is independent from the models created by the groups at NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory and Goddard Space Flight Center in the United States,as well as the Centre National d'Etudes Spatiales in France.Furthermore,in order to optimize the engineering and scientific benefits,we proposed a number of potential orbits for the extended Tianwen-1 mission. In order to solve a higher-degree independent Mars gravity field model, the viability of modifying the perigee height was investigated, with the priority considerations of fuel savings and implementation hazards being controlled. 展开更多

Multiaxis differential absorption spectroscopy(MAX-DOAS)is a newly developed advanced vertical profile detection method, but the vertical nitrogen dioxide(NO_(2))profiles measured by MAX-DOAS have not yet been fully verified. In this study,we perform MAX-DOAS and tower gradient observations to simultaneously acquire tropospheric NO_(2)observations in the Beijing urban area from 1 April to 31 May 2019.The average values of the tropospheric NO_(2)vertical column densities measured by MAX-DOAS and the tropospheric monitoring instrument are 15.8×1015 and 12.4×1015 molecules cm−2,respectively,and the correlation coefficient R reaches 0.87.The MAX-DOAS measurements are highly consistent with the tower-based in situ measurements, and the correlation coefficients R from the ground to the upper air are 0.89(60 m),0.87(160 m),and 0.76(280 m).MAX-DOAS accurately measures the trend of NO_(2)vertical profile changes, although a large underestimation occurs by a factor of two.By analyzing the NO_(2)vertical profile, the NO_(2)concentration reveals an exponential decrease with height. The NO_(2)vertical profile also coincides with the evolution of the boundary layer height. The study shows that the NO_(2)over Beijing mainly originates from local sources and occurs in the boundary layer, and its vertical evolution pattern has an important guiding significance to better understand nitrate production and ozone pollution. 展开更多

On September 20 th, 2015, twenty satellites were successfully deployed into a near-polar circular orbit at 520 km altitude by the Chinese CZ-6 test rocket, which was launched from the Tai Yuan Satellite Launch Center. Among these satellites, a set of 4 Cube Sats conform the atmospheric density detection and precise orbit determination(APOD) mission, which is projected for atmospheric density estimation from in-situ detection and precise orbit products. The APOD satellites are manufactured by China Spacesat Co. Ltd. and the payload instruments include an atmospheric density detector(ADD), a dual-frequency dualmode global navigation satellite system(GNSS) receiver(GPS and Beidou), a satellite laser ranging(SLR) reflector, and an S/Xband very long baseline interferometry(VLBI) beacon. In this paper, we compare the GNSS precise orbit products with colocated SLR observations, and the 3 D orbit accuracy shows better than 10 cm RMS. These results reveal the great potential of the onboard micro-electro-mechanical system(MEMS) GNSS receiver. After calibrating ADD density estimates with precise orbit products, the accuracy of our density products can reach about 10% with respect to the background density. Density estimates from APOD are of a great importance for scientific studies on upper atmosphere variations and useful for model data assimilation. 展开更多
