Currently,polymer nanosponges have received extensive attention.However,developing new synthetic techniques for novel nanosponges remains a challenge.Furthermore,to date,composite nanosponge adsorbents based on waterb...Currently,polymer nanosponges have received extensive attention.However,developing new synthetic techniques for novel nanosponges remains a challenge.Furthermore,to date,composite nanosponge adsorbents based on waterborne polyurethane(WPU)andβ-cyclodextrin(β-CD)have not been reported.Herein,a novel green method,ion condensation method,was developed in this study for the preparation of polymer nanosponge adsorbents for efficient removal of dyes from wastewater.Based on the principle of charge repulsion between nanoparticles to maintain emulsion stability,waterborne polyurethane/β-cyclodextrin composite nanosponges(WPU-x,y)were prepared by coagulating the emulsions synthesized from 2,2-dimethylolpropionic acid,polypropylene glycol and hexamethylene diisocyanate as raw materials in a mixture of hydrochloric acid and anhydrous ethanol.The structure and appearance of WPU-x,y were characterized by attenuated total reflectance Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy,thermal gravimetric analyzer,scanning electron microscope and mercury intrusion porosimetry.The adsorption capacity of WPU-x,y was tested by parameters such as cross-linking degree,β-CD dosage,contact time,initial dye concentration and p H value.The study found that WPU-4,4.62 had the best adsorption effect on methylene blue(MB),the maximum removal rate was 93.42%,and the maximum adsorption capacity was 136.03 mg·g^(-1).Moreover,the Sips isotherm and pseudo-second-order-model were suitable for MB adsorption.Therefore,this study provides some perspectives for the fabrication of nanosponge adsorbents.展开更多
Lithium-sulfur battery is desirable for the future potential electrochemical energy storage device with advantages of high theoretical energy density,low cost and environmental friendliness.However,some natural hindra...Lithium-sulfur battery is desirable for the future potential electrochemical energy storage device with advantages of high theoretical energy density,low cost and environmental friendliness.However,some natural hindrances,particularly fast capacity degradation resulting from the migration of dissolved polysulfide intermediates,remain to be significant challenges prior to the practical applications.In this work,a composite interlayer of carbon nanofibers(CNFs)which are enriched by Co-based metal organic frameworks(ZIF-67)growth in-situ is exploited.Notably,physical blocking and chemical trapping abilities are obtained synergistically from the ZIF/CNFs interlayer,which enables to restrain the dissolution of polysulfides and alleviate shuttle effect.Moreover,the three-dimensional fiber networks provide an interconnected conductive framework between each ZIF microreactor to promote fast electron transfer during cycling,thus contributing to excellent rate and cycling performance.As a result,Li-S cells with ZIF/CNFs interlayer show a high specific capacity of 1334 mAh g^(-1) at 1 C with an excellent cycling stability over 300 cycles.Besides,this scalable and affordable electrospinning fabrication method provides a promising approach for the design of MOFs-derived carbon materials for high performance Li-S batteries.展开更多
Objective:The process of manually recognize the lesion tissue in pathological images is a key,laborious and subjective step in tumor diagnosis.An automatic segmentation method is proposed to segment lesion tissue in p...Objective:The process of manually recognize the lesion tissue in pathological images is a key,laborious and subjective step in tumor diagnosis.An automatic segmentation method is proposed to segment lesion tissue in pathological images.Methods:We present a region of interest(ROI)method to generate a new pre-training dataset for training initial weights on DNNs to solve the overfitting problem.To improve the segmentation performance,a multiscale and multi-resolution ensemble strategy is proposed.Our methods are validated on a public segmentation dataset of colonoscopy images.Results:By using the ROI pre-training method,the Dice score of DeepLabV3 and ResUNet increases from 0.607 to 0.739 and from 0.572 to 0.741,respectively.The ensemble method is used in the testing phase,the Dice score of DeepLabV3 and ResUNet increased to 0.760 and 0.786.Conclusion:The ROI pre-training method and ensemble strategy can be applied to DeepLabV3 and ResUNet to improve the segmentation performance of colonoscopy images.展开更多

One-step assembly of organic-ligand modified Pd-Keggin-POMs has been rarely reported,so as for their applications in catalytic benzothiadiazole generation and derived cell-imaging probing.Herein,three PdKeggin-POMs(co...One-step assembly of organic-ligand modified Pd-Keggin-POMs has been rarely reported,so as for their applications in catalytic benzothiadiazole generation and derived cell-imaging probing.Herein,three PdKeggin-POMs(compounds 1-3)have been successfully synthesized via a one-step assembly strategy.Thus-obtained Pd-Keggin-POMs with well-defined structures and heterogeneous properties enable highly efficient catalytic benzothiadiazole generation.Specifically,compound 3 showed outstanding catalytic activities in Suzuki-Miyaura coupling reactions for the generation of benzothiadiazole derivatives(yields,90%-97%)and was represented as one of the best catalysts reported to date.Consequently,the obtained benzothiadiazoles were used as the bio-probe for tracking lipid droplets in living-cells and exhibited large Stokes shifts(130 nm),low cytotoxicity and good targeting,which could be also applied to mark the distribution of LDs in living He La cells.Systematic investigations clearly decipher the functions of PdKeggin-POMs toward finding novel bio-probe materials,highlighting a new insight into the generation of sustainable materials in life-science.展开更多

Despite the wide application of super-resolution(SR)microscopy in biological studies of cells,the technology is rarely used to monitor functional changes in live cells.By combining fast spinning disc-confocal structur...Despite the wide application of super-resolution(SR)microscopy in biological studies of cells,the technology is rarely used to monitor functional changes in live cells.By combining fast spinning disc-confocal structured illumination microscopy(SD-SIM)with loading of cytosolic fluorescent Ca2+indicators,we have developed an SR method for visualization of regional Ca2+dynamics and related cellular organelle morphology and dynamics,termed SR calcium lantern imaging.In COS-7 cells stimulated with ATP,we have identified various calcium macrodomains characterized by different types of Ca2+release from endoplasmic reticulum(ER)stores.Finally,we demonstrated various roles of mitochondria in mediating calcium signals from different sources;while mitochondria can globally potentiate the Ca2+entry associated with store release,mitochondria also locally control Ca2+release from the neighboring ER stores and assist in their refilling processes.展开更多
