Rapid urbanization has led to changes in the urban land surface thermal environment.However,there are still much unknown about the urban land surface thermal conditions in permafrost regions.Permafrost is a unique geo...Rapid urbanization has led to changes in the urban land surface thermal environment.However,there are still much unknown about the urban land surface thermal conditions in permafrost regions.Permafrost is a unique geological environment,changes in the urban land surface thermal environment may trigger geological disasters caused by permafrost degradation.This study utilized remote sensing data and geographic de-tectors to identify the dynamic changes in land surface temperature(LST)and land use/land cover(LU/LC)in Yakutsk,as well as the potential factors contributing to LST variations.Between 1992 and 2020,the built-up area in Yakutsk increased by 36%,and the annual average LST in Yakutsk has risen by 6.67℃,accompanied by an expansion of high-temperature areas.Despite ongoing greening efforts,rapid urbanization poses a threat to these green spaces.Changes in the normalized difference built-up index(NDBI)and land use transfer(LDT)were identified as the primary drivers of urban LST changes.By integrating geographic detector technology and artificial neural network models,we optimized the selection of input factors in the prediction model and used it to explore the future changes in LST in Yakutsk.The average LST in Yakutsk is expected to reach 23.4℃ and 25.1℃ in 2030 and 2040,respectively,with a further increase in high-temperature areas.This study provides a reference for ecological,hydrological,and geological assessments of cities in permafrost regions.展开更多
The regulation of mRNA localization and local translation play vital roles in the maintenance of cellular structure and function.Many human neurodegenerative diseases,such as fragile X syndrome,amyotrophic lateral scl...The regulation of mRNA localization and local translation play vital roles in the maintenance of cellular structure and function.Many human neurodegenerative diseases,such as fragile X syndrome,amyotrophic lateral sclerosis,Alzheimer’s disease,and spinal muscular atrophy,have been characterized by pathological changes in neuronal axons,including abnormal mRNA translation,the loss of protein expression,or abnormal axon transport.Moreover,the same protein and mRNA molecules have been associated with variable functions in different diseases due to differences in their interaction networks.In this review,we briefly examine fragile X syndrome,amyotrophic lateral sclerosis,Alzheimer’s disease,and spinal muscular atrophy,with a focus on disease pathogenesis with regard to local mRNA translation and axon transport,suggesting possible treatment directions.展开更多
Background:Recent upsurge of new HIV infections among men who have sex with men(MSM)is a major concern in China.Paucity of national-level information regarding the burden and predictors of this progressive epidemic of...Background:Recent upsurge of new HIV infections among men who have sex with men(MSM)is a major concern in China.Paucity of national-level information regarding the burden and predictors of this progressive epidemic of new infections called for a multi-centric,timely and comprehensive investigation.Methods:Mixed methods were used to recruit MSM from seven cities in China between 2012 and 2013.Recent and established HIV infections were estimated by Western Blot and BED HIV-1 capture enzyme immunoassay.Syphilis and herpes simplex virus-2(HSV-2)were also tested.Results:A total of 4496 eligible MSM were recruited.The majority was aged≤35 years(77.5%),migrants(60.3%),never married(69.8%),and played receptive role in anal sex(70.5%).The HIV prevalence was 9.9%,and 41.9%were recently infected,with sensitivity/specificity adjusted HIV incidence of 8.9(95%CI:7.6-10.2)/100 Person-Years.The prevalence of history HSV-2 and syphilis were 12.5%and 8.5%,respectively.Recent HIV infection was associated with having multiple male partners(aOR=1.4,95%CI 1.1-1.9),recreational drug use(aOR=2.2,95%CI 1.6-3.0),anal bleeding(aOR=2.1,95%CI 1.4-3.0),syphilis infection(aOR=2.8,95%CI 1.9-4.3)and history HSV-2 infection(aOR=2.3,95%CI 1.5-3.3).Conclusion:High rate of recent HIV infection is potentially resulting in progressive deterioration of the overall HIV epidemic among MSM in China.Targeted interventions to address high-risk MSM including those having multiple partners,history of recreational drug use and syphilis or HSV-2 infection seemed to be the need of the hour.展开更多
