[目的]翻译并修订病人攻击和暴力行为管理态度量表(Management of Aggression and Violence Attitude Scale,MAVAS),在急诊护士中对该量表的中文版进行信效度的初步评价。[方法]基于量表引进原则,翻译和回译MAVAS,并进行跨文化调适和修...[目的]翻译并修订病人攻击和暴力行为管理态度量表(Management of Aggression and Violence Attitude Scale,MAVAS),在急诊护士中对该量表的中文版进行信效度的初步评价。[方法]基于量表引进原则,翻译和回译MAVAS,并进行跨文化调适和修订,用中文版MAVAS对187名急诊科护士进行调查,对结果进行信度和效度分析。[结果]中文版MAVAS共包含24个条目,内容效度指数为0.95,量表的重测信度为0.865,总量表的Cronbach′sα系数为0.813,各维度的Cronbach′sα系数为0.623~0.868;探索性因子分析提取4个公因子,方差累计贡献率为54.669%;已知族群检测发现不同学历和工作年限的急诊科护士MAVAS得分差异有统计学意义(P<0.05)。[结论]中文版MAVAS具有良好的信度和效度,可用于评估急诊护士对病人攻击和暴力行为管理的态度。展开更多
This study aims to explore the effect and mechanism of Jiao-tai-wan (JTW) on systemic and tissue-specific inflammation and insulin resistance in obesity-resistant (OR) rats with chronic partial sleep deprivation ...This study aims to explore the effect and mechanism of Jiao-tai-wan (JTW) on systemic and tissue-specific inflammation and insulin resistance in obesity-resistant (OR) rats with chronic partial sleep deprivation (PSD). OR rats with PSD were orally given JTW and Estazolam for 4 weeks. The amount of food intake and metabolic parameters such as body weight increase rate, fasting plasma glucose (FPG), fasting insulin (FINS), homeostasis model assessment-insulin resistance (HOMA-IR) and plasma inflammatory markers were measured. The expression levels of circadian proteins cryptochrome 1 (Cryl) and cryptochrome 2 (Cry2) in hypothalamus, adipose and liver tissues were also determined. Meanwhile, the mRNA expression of inflammatory markers, activity of nuclear factor kappa B (NF-κB) p65 protein, as well as the expression levels of insulin signaling pathway proteins in hypothalamus, adipose and liver tissues were measured. Additionally, cyclic adenosine 3', 5'-monophosphate (cAMP) and activity of vasodilator-stimulated phosphoprotein (VASP) in hypothalamus tissue were measured. JTW significantly decreased the body weight increase rate and food intake, ameliorated systemic inflammation and insulin resistance. JTW effectively ameliorated inflammation and increased PI3K/AKT signaling activation in hypothalamus, adipose and liver. Interestingly, all these changes were associated with the up-regulation of circadian gene Cryl and Cry2 protein expression. We also found that in hypothalamus tissue of PSD rats, down-regulation of Cryl and Cry2 activated cAMP/PKA signaling and then led to inflammation, while JTW inhibited this signaling. These results suggested that JTW has the beneficial effect on ameliorating inflammation and insulin resistance in partially sleep-deprived rats by up-regulating Cry expression.展开更多
Brain asymmetry for processing visual information is widespread in animals.However,it is still unknown how the complexity of the underlying neural network activities represents this asymmetrical pattern in the brain.I...Brain asymmetry for processing visual information is widespread in animals.However,it is still unknown how the complexity of the underlying neural network activities represents this asymmetrical pattern in the brain.In the present study,we investigated this complexity using the approximate entropy(ApEn)protocol for electroencephalogram(EEG)recordings from the forebrain and midbrain while the music frogs(Nidirana daunchina)attacked prey stimulus.The results showed that(1)more significant prey responses were evoked by the prey stimulus presented in the right visual field than that in the left visual field,consistent with the idea that right-eye preferences for predatory behaviors exist in animals including anurans;(2)in general,the ApEn value of the left hemisphere(especially the left mesencephalon)was greatest under various stimulus conditions,suggesting that visual lateralization could be reflected by the dynamics of underlying neural network activities and that the stable left-hemisphere dominance of EEG ApEn may play an important role in maintaining this brain asymmetry.展开更多

METHODS: Cells were cultured in the presence or absence of ...AIM: To investigate the effect of fenugreek lactone(FL) on palmitate(PA)-induced apoptosis and dysfunction in insulin secretion in pancreatic NIT-1 β-cells. METHODS: Cells were cultured in the presence or absence of FL and PA(0.25 mmol/L) for 48 h. Then, lipid droplets in NIT-1 cells were observed by oil red O staining, and the intracellular triglyceride content was measured by colorimetric assay. The insulin content in the supernatant was determined using an insulin radioimmunoassay. Oxidative stress-associated parameters, including total superoxide dismutase, glutathione peroxidase and catalase activity and malondialdehyde levels in the suspensions were also examined. The expression of upstream regulators of oxidative stress, such as protein kinase C-α(PKC-α), phospho-PKC-α and P47 phox, were determined by Western blot analysis and real-time PCR. In addition, apoptosis was evaluated in NIT-1 cells by flow cytometry assays and caspase-3 viability assays.RESULTS: Our results indicated that compared to the control group, PA induced an increase in lipid accumulation and apoptosis and a decrease in insulin secretion in NIT-1 cells. Oxidative stress in NIT-1 cells was activated after 48 h of exposure to PA. However, FL reversed the above changes. These effects were accompanied by the inhibition of PKC-α, phosphoPKC-α and P47 phox expression and the activation of caspase-3. CONCLUSION: FL attenuates PA-induced apoptosis and insulin secretion dysfunction in NIT-1 pancreatic β-cells. The mechanism for this action may be associated with improvements in levels of oxidative stress.展开更多
Male-male vocal competition is critical for mating success in anuran species;however,it remains unknown that how males regulate their competitive strategies dynamically during competition because calling is highly tim...Male-male vocal competition is critical for mating success in anuran species;however,it remains unknown that how males regulate their competitive strategies dynamically during competition because calling is highly time-consuming,energetically demanding and likely to increase predation risks.Since different parts of calls will encode different information for vocal communication,we hypothesized that competitive strategies of male frogs may be modulated by the temporal and spectral features of different call notes.To test this hypothesis,the natural advertisement calls(OC),its modified versions with the first call note replaced by white noise(WN)or other notes and with the fifth call note replaced by WN,were played back to the Anhui tree frogs(Rhacophorus zhoukaiyae).Results showed that 1)males produced more competitive calls in response to acoustic stimuli compared to their baseline calling during silence;and 2)males emitted more non-overlapping calls compared to overlapping calls in response to the acoustic stimuli.These results are consistent with the idea that males are flexible to acoustic signals and their competition strategies are modulated dynamically by social contexts.展开更多
Positive nucleic acid(NA)results have been found in recovered and discharged COVID-19 patients,but the proportion is unclear.This study was designed to analyze the recurrent positive rate of NA results after consecuti...Positive nucleic acid(NA)results have been found in recovered and discharged COVID-19 patients,but the proportion is unclear.This study was designed to analyze the recurrent positive rate of NA results after consecutively negative results,and the relationship between the specific antibody production and positive NA rate.According to Strengthening the Reporting of Observational Studies in Epidemiology guidelines,data of inpatients in Sino-French New City Branch of Tongji Hospital between Jan.28 and Mar.6,2020 were collected.A total of 564 COVID-19 patients over 14 years old who received the examinations of NA and antibodies against SARS-CoV-2 were included.Days of viral shedding and specific antibodies were recorded and assessed.Among NA tests in respiratory samples(throat swabs,nasopharyngeal swabs,sputum and flushing fluid in alveoli),the patients with all-negative NA results accounted for 17.20%,those with single-positive results for 46.63%,and those with multiple-positive results for 36.17%respectively.Besides,the recurrent positive NA results after consecutively negative results appeared in 66 patients(11.70%).For multiple-positive patients,median viral shedding duration was 20 days(range:1 to 57 days).Of the 205 patients who received 2 or more antibody tests,141(68.78%)had decreased IgG and IgM concentrations.IgM decreased to normal range in 24 patients,with a median of 44 days from symptom onset.Viral shedding duration was not significantly correlated with gender,age,disease severity,changes in pulmonary imaging,and antibody concentration.It is concluded that antibody level and antibody change had no significant correlation with the positive rate of NA tests and the conversion rate after continuous negative NA tests.In order to reduce the recurrent positive proportion after discharge,3 or more consecutive negative NA test results with test interval more than 24 h every time are suggested for the discharge or release from quarantine.展开更多
